The antimicrobial and antioxidant effects on carp fillet samples of treatments with alkaline electrolyzed NaCl solution EW (-) prior to treatment with acidic electrolyzed NaCl solution EW (+) and 1% solutions of the essential oils consisting of 0.5% carvacrol and 0.5% thymol (1% Cv+Ty) were tested. First carp fillet samples were treated with EW (-), then EW (+), followed by 1% (C+T), represented as [EW (-)/EW (+)/1% (Cv+Ty)] for 15 min, during drying at 45 degrees C. Samples were subsequently evaluated by microbiological, chemical and sensory analyses. Microbiological analyses indicated that the initial total microbial counts of samples treated with EW (-)/EW (+), 1% (Cv+Ty) or EW (-)/EW (+)/1% (Cv+Ty) were significantly (p< or =0.05) reduced, compared with the control sample. Treatment with EW (-)/EW (+)/1% (Cv+Ty) gave the strongest overall inhibition of microbial growth when compared to all of the other treatments. The volatile basic nitrogen (VBN) value of samples treated with EW (-)/EW (+)/1% (Cv+Ty) was kept at low level (18.46+/-0.45) until the end of drying period (5 days), compared with control samples (40.33+/-0.58). Treatment with EW (-)/EW (+)/1% (Cv+Ty) during drying significantly reduced the peroxide values (PV) and thiobarbituric acid values (TBA). Sensory evaluation indicated that there were significant differences (p< or =0.05) in the color, odor, taste, flavor and texture, on the end of the 5-day drying period between samples treated with EW (-)/EW (+)/1% (Cv+Ty), as compared to all of the other treatments. We conclude that treatment with EW (-)/EW (+)/1% (Cv+Ty) had stronger antimicrobial and antioxidant effects than all of the other treatments on carp fillets during drying, and could be a good alternative to artificial preservatives in food industry. 相似文献

Natural photosynthesis, which achieves efficient solar energy conversion through the combined actions of many types of molecules ingeniously arranged in a nanospace, highlights the importance of a technique for site-selective coupling of different materials to realize artificial high-efficiency devices. In view of increasingly serious energy and environmental problems, semiconductor-based artificial photosynthetic systems consisting of isolated photochemical system 1 (PS1), PS2 and the electron-transfer system have recently been developed. However, the direct coupling of the components is crucial for retarding back reactions to increase the reaction efficiency. Here, we report a simple technique for forming an anisotropic CdS-Au-TiO2 nanojunction, in which PS1(CdS), PS2(TiO2) and the electron-transfer system (Au) are spatially fixed. This three-component system exhibits a high photocatalytic activity, far exceeding those of the single- and two-component systems, as a result of vectorial electron transfer driven by the two-step excitation of TiO2 and CdS. 相似文献

We analyzed the heat generation of a low-temperature polycrystalline thin-film transistor in pulse operation and proposed a technique for accurately measuring its thermal temperature in high-frequency operation. From this measurement, we were able to calculate the time constants for heating and radiation for the first time. At a low frequency, the temperature difference between when the pulse was on and off was remarkable. As the frequency was increased, the maximum and minimum temperatures approached each other and became equal at a frequency of approximately 1 kHz. Two different galvannealed (GA) steels with different formability performances were deformed at room temperature with a micro-Vickers indenter. Cross-sectional specimens for transmission electron microscopy were prepared from the indented areas using a focused ion beam technique. Direct evidence of plastic deformation of the GA coats was obtained. Cracks were observed to nucleate at triple points of two neighbouring Gamma and substrate Fe. PURPOSE: To compare U.S. medical student Match results in 1996 for 19 categorical residency positions by specialty with those of the overall Match reported by the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). METHOD: Data for the numbers of "active" senior U.S. student applicants (those who submitted rank lists), the numbers of U.S. seniors matched, and the numbers of unfilled positions for 19 specialties were obtained from a variety of sources. Chi-square analysis was performed to compare Match results for each independent specialty with the overall Match results. The level for statistical significant was set at p < .005. RESULTS: Eight specialties were identified as significantly more competitive than the overall Match process for both the percentage of U.S. seniors who successfully matched in that specialty and the ratio of unmatched U.S. senior applicants to unfilled categorical positions. Five specialties were identified as significantly less competitive for these two measures. Six specialties showed no significant difference in the percentages of U.S. students matching, but for three of these specialties there were more unmatched students than unfilled categorical positions. CONCLUSION: U.S. medical student Match results for categorical residency positions for different specialties vary significantly from the overall Match process. This information can be used in counseling senior medical students on their specialty selection and the residency application process. 相似文献

The effect of plastic anisotropy, which is caused by the arrangement of slip systems, on the creep strength of notched specimens
of Ni-based superalloy single crystals, is described. It was revealed that the creep strength of the notched specimens was
affected by the crystallographic orientation, not only in the tensile direction, but also in the thickness direction. The
creep strength was superior in the notched specimen with the [011] tensile and [100] plate-normal orientation, whereas the
notched specimen with [011] tensile and [100] plate-normal orientation exhibited extremely poor creep strength. In the case

Metallic glass nanowires were spontaneously created on the fracture surfaces that were produced by a conventional mechanical test. The presence of the nanowires is directly related to the one-dimensional meniscus configuration with a small viscosity at high temperatures and to the wide supercooled liquid region of the metallic glass. The electron microscopic observations demonstrate the diameters, the lengths, and the amorphous structural states, and the energy dispersive X-ray reveals the chemical components. In addition, we found that round ridges are constructed from nanotubes. The finding of amorphous nanostructures not only provides a fundamental understanding of fracture processes but also gives a new insight into nanoengineering constructions. 相似文献

To develop a thermal analysis method for the concrete cask, numerical calculation based on thermal hydraulic phenomena was performed. In the present calculation model, calculation area was divided into two parts. One is inside of the canister and the other is outside of the canister. These two parts were combined at the surface of the canister. In the model of the outside, k– turbulence model was adopted for air flow region. The quantitative measurement of a crystal bending effect is performed using low-order zone-axis convergent beam electron diffraction (CBED) patterns. Although the accuracy of the present method is inferior to that of the method of using split higher order Laue zone lines, this method enables us to estimate the crystal bending effect at a region very close to the interface and to easily judge whether the crystal bending effect results in a tensile bend or a compressive bend. As an application of the present method, the crystal bending effect at a region close to the SiGe/Si interface was measured. It was found that the crystal bending effect is due to a thin-foil relaxation of almost 0.3 degrees at a region that is approximately 10 nm away from the interface. 相似文献
