A solution to the problem of partitioning data for distributed memory machines is discussed. The solution uses a matrix notation to describe array accesses in fully parallel loops, which allows the derivation of sufficient conditions for communication-free partitioning (decomposition) of arrays. A series of examples that illustrate the effectiveness of the technique for linear references, the use of loop transformations in deriving the necessary data decompositions, and a formulation that aids in deriving heuristics for minimizing a communication when communication-free partitions are not feasible are presented  相似文献

Stress analysis of a water storage structure has been carried out for static and seismic loading. Based on the stress analyses results, assessment of most likely failure modes for the structure caused by seismic event has been carried out. An attempt has been made to quantify the initial leakage rate and average emptying time for the structure during seismic event after evaluating the various crack parameters, viz., crack-width and crack-spacing at the locations of interest. Finally, the seismic fragility of the structure is developed as families of conditional probability curves plotted against peak ground acceleration (PGA) parameter at the location of interest considering the randomness and uncertainty associated with various parameters that could affect the seismic structural response.  相似文献

A geometrical theory of diffraction (GTD) analysis of the principal plane far-field and near-field patterns of a near-field Cassegrainian subreflector is presented. The uniform geometrical theory of diffraction (UGTD) [1] that drastically reduces the computation time has been utilized to analyze the subreflector in the form of a paraboloid illuminated by a plane wave. The numerical computations of the far-field amplitude and phase patterns of a typical paraboloidal subreflector based on the above technique correlate well with the results obtained by physical optics current integration, justifying the validity of the analysis presented. The GTD near-field analysis presented here is an improvement over that published earlier [2] and removes some of its limitations.  相似文献

We propose a class of finite state systems of synchronizing distributed processes, where processes make assumptions at local states about the state of other processes in the system. This constrains the global states of the system to those where assumptions made by a process about another are compatible with the commitments offered by the other at that state. We model examples like reliable bit transmission and sequence transmission protocols in this framework and discuss how assumption-commitment structure facilitates compositional design of such protocols. We prove a decomposition theorem which states that every protocol specified globally as a finite state system can be decomposed into such an assumption compatible system. We also present a syntactic characterization of this class using top level parallel composition. The main results here were first reported in an earlier paper (Mohalik & Ramanujam 1998). Cyclohexanone oxime-blocked isophorone diisocyanate and cyclohexanone oxime-blocked toluene diisocyanate were synthesized and analyzed by infrared spectra, nuclear magnetic resonance spectra, elemental analysis, etc. Decomposition temperatures of the blocked isocyanates were determined by thermogravimetry. The present paper attempts to evaluate the seismic fragility for a typical elevated water-retaining structure. The structure is analysed for two cases: (i) empty tank; and (ii) tank filled with water. The various parameters that could affect the seismic structural response include material strength of concrete and reinforcing steel, effective prestress available in the tank, ductility ratio and structural damping available within the structure, normalised ground motion response spectral shape, foundation and surrounding soil parameters and the total height of water available in the tank. Based on this case study, the seismic fragility of the structure is developed. The results are presented as families of conditional probability curves plotted against peak ground acceleration (PGA) at two critical locations. The procedure adopted, incorporates the various randomness and uncertainty associated with the parameters under consideration.  相似文献

Summary The monomer, N-4'-fluorophenylmethacrylamide (FPMA) was polymerized for the first time using benzoyl peroxide as the initiator. The IR and NMR spectra of FPMA and the polymer, poly(N-4'-fluorophenylmethacrylamide) (PFPMA) are discussed. Viscosity measurements of PFPMA was carried out in dimethylformamide medium at 25°C. The number average molecular weight of PFPMA was determined to be 690 using vapour pressure osmometer. The formation of low molecular weight of PFPMA is explained on the basis of intermolecular hydrogen bonding in the monomer.  相似文献

Six triphenylamine-based dyes were explored for their application in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). Dyes 1–3 and dyes 4–6 possess cyanoacrylic acid (C-acceptor) and rhodanine-3-acetic acid (R-acceptor), respectively. Stilbene (in dyes 2 and 5) and bis(styryl)benzene (in dyes 3 and 6) were used as π-spacers. There is no π-spacer in the dye 1 and 4. To elucidate the role of π-spacers, optical, electrochemical, and photovoltaic properties of the dyes were studied. Among C-acceptor dyes, dye 2 exhibits the highest light-to-electricity conversion efficiency of 4.45%, followed by dye 3 (4.16%). Similarly, among R-acceptor dyes, dye 5 is the best. These results indicate that stilbene is a better π-spacer over bis(styryl)benzene. Although bis(styryl)benzene could extend the light absorption range (in dye-adsorbed TiO2 film), its tendency to promote intermolecular π-π stacking is possibly the reason for its poor performance in DSSCs. Furthermore, the conjugation break in the R-acceptor moiety attached to the TiO2 surface limits the electron injection of R-acceptor dyes poorer than C-acceptor dyes. Density functional theory calculations were performed for the dye-(TiO2)8 cluster, assuming a bidentate chelation of a carboxylic acid group with Ti4+ of TiO2 anatase. The natural bond orbital (NBO) analysis indicated relatively more electron-accepting ability of cyanoacrylic acid over rhodanine-3-acetic acid.  相似文献

It is well known that irradiation of azobenzene polymer films between 490 and 530 nm results in alignment of molecules perpendicular to the polarization of the incident beam. I have recently found that irradiation of amorphous azobenzene polymers with linearly polarized light at wavelengths between 560 and 630 nm, where the absorption is minimal, results in a possible uniaxial hedgehog arrangement of the molecules. Experiments performed with a dye laser, which can be tuned continuously between 560 and 630 nm, are described. Not only azobenzene but also another photosensitive molecule, bacteriorhodopsin, seems to exhibit this behavior.  相似文献
