Nuclear LIM domains interact with a family of coregulators referred to as Clim/Ldb/Nli. Although one family member, Clim-2/Ldb-1/Nli, is highly expressed in epidermal keratinocytes, no nuclear LIM domain factor is known to be expressed in epidermis. Therefore, we used the conserved LIM-interaction domain of Clim coregulators to screen for LIM domain factors in adult and embryonic mouse skin expression libraries and isolated a factor that is highly homologous to the previously described LIM-only proteins LMO-1, -2, and -3. This factor, referred to as LMO-4, is expressed in overlapping manner with Clim-2 in epidermis and in several other regions, including epithelial cells of the gastrointestinal, respiratory and genitourinary tracts, developing cartilage, pituitary gland, and discrete regions of the central and peripheral nervous system. Like LMO-2, LMO-4 interacts strongly with Clim factors via its LIM domain. Because LMO/Clim complexes are thought to regulate gene expression by associating with DNA-binding proteins, we used LMO-4 as a bait to screen for such DNA-binding proteins in epidermis and isolated the mouse homologue of Drosophila Deformed epidermal autoregulatory factor 1 (DEAF-1), a DNA-binding protein that interacts with regulatory sequences first described in the Deformed epidermal autoregulatory element. The interaction between LMO-4 and mouse DEAF-1 maps to a proline-rich C-terminal domain of mouse DEAF-1, distinct from the helix-loop-helix and GATA domains previously shown to interact with LMOs, thus defining an additional LIM-interacting domain.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: An important unanswered question concerning the histogenesis of superficial-type gastric carcinoma is whether it is monoclonal or multiclonal in origin. Therefore, the authors analyzed multiple areas of each cancer with a clonality assay based on trinucleotide repeat length polymorphism of the human androgen receptor gene (HUMARA) that was subject to random inactivation of X chromosomes. METHODS: The HUMARA assay was applied to 15 gastric carcinomas, early and advanced stage, manifested in superficial, depressed lesions of various sizes and at least some signet ring cells. DNA was extracted from fresh frozen and formalin fixed tumor tissues that were microdissected from the mucosal lesions, and the HUMARA locus was amplified by polymerase chain reaction with and without prior digestion of nonmethylated DNA with Hpa II. The amplified DNA samples were loaded on polyacrylamide gels, electrophoresed, and visualized by a silver-staining method. RESULTS: In the 15 cases examined, 9 cancers were informative (had features of the types sought in this study), and in these 9 cancers a total of 57 areas were analyzed. In 7 of the 9 cancers, the inactivated allele was common to all the informative areas of each tumor, irrespective of the macroscopic shape of the tumor or the degree of histologic heterogeneity within it. In one of the two remaining cancers, the inactivated allele of one of the areas examined was different from those in the other areas. CONCLUSIONS: Most of the superficial depressed-type gastric carcinomas in this study were demonstrated to be of monoclonal origin. This finding supports a notion expressed previously in the literature that superficial-type carcinoma has a long natural history, and it indicates that efforts to detect gastric carcinomas in early stages to improve patients' survival should be encouraged.  相似文献

Summary The permeation characteristics of polymer blend membranes from poly(vinylidene fluoride) and poly-(ethylene glycol) to aqueous polymer solution were investigated under carefully controlled conditions. We evaluated the redistribution profiles of ion-implanted impurities during solid-phase epitaxy using Rutherford backscattering spectrometry (RBS). RBS data revealed that the As concentration changes only near the moving amorphous/crystal interface. We derived an analytical model for the redistribution profiles using a segregation coefficient m between amorphous and crystalline Si, introduced a parameter of reaction length l that is the distance where impurities were exchanged, and obtained good agreement with experimental data with an m value of 3 and an l value of 1 nm for As. Furthermore, we applied our model to P and B redistribution profiles and obtained good agreement with corresponding m value of 4 and l value of 1 nm for P and m value of 0.3 and l value of 1 nm for B  相似文献

This paper presents a dynamic predistorter (PD), which linearizes the dynamic AM-AM and AM-PM of a wideband code division multiple access handset power amplifier (PA). The dynamic PD allows an adjacent channel leakage power ratio (ACPR) improvement of 15.7 dB, which is superior to conventional PDs that linearize static AM-AM and AM-PM. The dynamic PD was designed using an HBT generating nonlinearity, a short circuit at the baseband (les4 MHz), and a load circuit for the HBT at the RF fundamental band (ap1.95 GHz). Volterra-series analysis was performed to understand the mechanism of the dynamic PD. The analysis revealed that the short circuit at the baseband enabled the dynamic PD generating third-order intermodulation distortion (IMD3) with opposite phase to the fundamental tone (i.e., antiphase IMD3). The antiphase IMD3 allows dynamic gain compression, which linearizes the dynamic gain expansion of a PA with low quiescent current. The analysis also revealed that the IMD3 amplitude of the dynamic PD can be adjusted by load impedance at the RF fundamental band, which enables the gradient of dynamic AM-AM and AM-PM to be optimized to linearize the PA. The fabricated two-stage InGaP/GaAs HBT PA module with the dynamic PD exhibited an ACPR of -40 dBc and a power-added efficiency of 50% at an average output power of 26.8 dBm with a quiescent current of 20 mA  相似文献

Deep submicron MOSFETs with elevated source/drain (S/D) structures, where S/D extension regions were partially elevated besides deep S/D regions, were fabricated by use of Si selective epitaxial growth technique. As fairly compared with a well-developed conventional MOSFET, we clarify an advantage of the elevated S/D structures, i.e., improvement upon driving performance with keeping excellent short-channel characteristics, which is enhanced for decrease in gate sidewall spacer width. The experimental results are explained in terms of the reduction in S/D parasitic resistance by addition of the Si epitaxial layer where the impurity profile is suitable  相似文献

A partial nickel plating method was developed by using the organic gel electrolyte. The gel electrolyte was made from polyvinylchloride as a gelling agent and tetrahydrofuran as an organic solvent. The suitable conditions for nickel plating were investigated by the measurements of polarization curve and electrochemical impedance. The pattern electroplating using thin layer of gel electrolyte was carried out on the copper substrate. The substrate surface could be plated by nickel with high uniformity and sharp edge line. The present method will be widely used for the surface patterning without masking.  相似文献

The stannous ion consumption in methane sulfonic acid (MSA) baths with and without catechol was quantitatively evaluated using platinum and IrO2–Ta2O5/Ti anodes. The stannous ion is consumed at the same rate with both anodes, accompanied by the generation of tin sludge on the anode surfaces in the bath without catechol, while these undesirable phenomena are significantly suppressed in the bath containing catechol. Spectroscopic measurements indicate that stannous ion and catechol form a complex at the mole ratio of 1:2, thus preventing the oxidation of stannous ions. This complexation effect is independent of the anode material at low current density, but depends on the anode material at high current density. The stannous ion consumption at high current density is sufficiently inhibited only with the IrO2–Ta2O5/Ti anode due to the low oxygen evolution potential. Voltammetric measurements also suggest that the continuous oxidation of stannous ion in the catechol-containing bath is simultaneous with oxygen evolution.  相似文献

ABSTRACT: Approximately 10% of total muscle collagen in 6 decapod molluskan species was recovered as minor collagenous fractions by limited pepsin digestion and differential salt precipitation. The main alpha components (α1) in these fractions showed similar peptide maps of V-8 protease and lysyl endopeptidase digests to each other and had reactivity to the antiserum against the al component of the minor collagen (named Type SQ-II) from Todarodes pacificus muscle in immunoblot analysis. These results suggested that the minor molecular species of collagen corresponding to Type SQ-II of Todarodes pacificus was widely distributed in the mantle muscle of decapod mollusks. In addition, immunohistochemical experiments revealed that Type SQ-II collagen distributed mainly in intramuscular thin connective tissue (endomysium), suggesting the functional importance of this molecule to the development of meat texture of decapod mollusks.  相似文献

A mechanistic aspect of the susceptibility to the delayed fracture is studied with an emphasis on the critical behaviour of the subsurface growth of Quasi-Cleavage (QC) and Inter-Granular (IG) cracks. The materials employed are 0.35%C plain carbon steel and boron added bolt steel which were quenched and tempered to have various levels of yield strength ranging from 500 to 1400 MPa. Fractographic analysis shows us that QC + IG cracking process can be an essential mode in the delayed fracture of steels. A low susceptibility to delayed fracture can be explained by the crack growth behavior when the crucial blunting occurs at the crack tip.  相似文献
