Nonfused ring electron acceptors (NFREAs) have received much attention due to their distinguished advantages such as simple chemical structure, facile synthesis, and low cost. Herein, three NFREAs with asymmetric and symmetric terminal groups, named CY101, CY102, and CY103, respectively, are designed and synthesized. The effect of terminal groups on the photophysical, electrochemical, and charge transport properties of the NFREAs is further investigated, providing insight to the relationships between the molecular structures and properties of NFREAs. It is found that the asymmetric NFREA CY102-based organic solar cells (OSCs) can yield a power conversion efficiency of 11.30%, which is higher than those of the symmetric CY101-based OSCs (10.20%) and CY103-based OSCs (8.99%). These results indicate that the asymmetric design strategy can be introduced into NFREAs to engage the high-performance OSCs. 相似文献

Antimony selenide (Sb2Se3) emerges as a promising sunlight absorber in thin film photovoltaic applications due to its excellent light absorption properties and carrier transport behavior, attributed to the quasi-one-dimensional Sb4Se6-nanoribbon crystal structure. Overcoming the challenge of aligning Sb2Se3-nanoribbons normal to substrates for efficient photogenerated carrier extraction, a solution-processed nanocrystalline Sb2(S,Se)3-seeds are employed on the CdS buffer layer. These seeds facilitate superstrated Sb2Se3 thin film solar cell growth through a close-space sublimation approach. The Sb2(S,Se)3-seeds guided the Sb2Se3 absorber growth along a [002]-preferred crystal orientation, ensuring a smoother interface with the CdS window layer. Remarkably, Sb2(S,Se)3-seeds improve carrier transport, reduce series resistance, and increase charge recombination resistance, resulting in an enhanced power conversion efficiency of 7.52%. This cost-effective solution-processed seeds planting approach holds promise for advancing chalcogenide-based thin film solar cells in large-scale manufacturing. 相似文献

A thorough study of current losses in bipolar cells has been made for the development of the great energy-saving potential
of bipolar cells. A proper equivalent circuit for bipolar cells has been proposed, and mathematical methods for computing
current losses for all types of polar-ization have been developed. For linear polarization, the current losses can be computed
by solving either a tridiagonal matrix or a second-order ordinary differential equation. These values can be used to evaluate
the minimum current losses at given conditions. For other kinds of polarization, the current losses can be computed by similar
methods if the necessary experiments of measuring the cell voltages of each electrolytic compartment have been made. These
values can be used to design practical bipolar cells. Extensive experiments have been made to evaluate the effects of electrode
polarization, electromotive force (emf) of the galvanic cell for the for-mation of electrolyzed substance, gaseous products,
geometric dimensions of electrolytic cells, specific resistance of electrolyte used, and the total and ordinal number of electrolytic
com-partments on current losses. This was the first time such systematic experimental research had been undertaken. Experiments
showed that theoretical models were in good agreement with measured data and that DC energy consumption of 0.45 kwh/kg Pb
for lead electrolysis from molten chlorides could be achieved in a cell with seven bipolar electrodes.
