Starting from an abstract mathematical notion of discrete function spaces and operators, we derive a general abstraction for a large class of grid-based discretization schemes for stationary and instationary partial differential equations. Special emphasis is put on concepts for local adaptivity and parallelization with dynamic load balancing. The concepts are based on a corresponding abstract definition of a parallel and hierarchical adaptive grid given in Bastian et al. (Computing 82(2–3):103–119, 2008). Based on the abstract framework, we describe an efficient object oriented implementation of a generic interface for grid-based discretization schemes that is realized in the Dune-Fem library (http://dune.mathematik.uni-freiburg.de). By using interface classes we manage to separate functionality from data structures. Efficiency is obtained by using modern template based generic programming techniques, including static polymorphism, the engine concept, and template metaprogramming. We present numerical results for several benchmark problems and some advanced applications.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

River deltas are very complex environments vulnerable to flooding. Most of the world’s deltas are facing the immediate threat of land subsidence that jeopardizes the safety of millions of people worldwide. In Italy, the Po River Delta (PRD) (Northeast Italy) is an area historically affected by high rate of subsidence due to natural and anthropic factors. Even if the subsidence rates remarkably reduced during the last three decades, this process continues to be alarming in particular in low-lying sectors and along the coastline, where the loss of elevation, combined with the sea-level rise, increases the risk related to flooding. In this study, we monitored the subsidence affecting the entire PRD area with advanced differential interferometric synthetic aperture radar (A-DInSAR) techniques applied to three C-band SAR data sets acquired by the European Remote Sensing satellites, Environmental Satellite, and Sentinel-1A satellite in the last 25 years (from 1992 to 2017). The results of the interferometric processing, consisting of both mean velocity and displacement time series along the satellite line of sight, validated by comparison with levelling and global positioning system measurements, show increasing subsidence moving from the inland to the coastline, with maximum deformation velocities, for the most recent data, in the order of ?30 mm year?1. In particular, many embankments near the coastal area are affected by high values of subsidence, which increase the flooding hazard of the entire deltaic territory. This work shows the importance of adopting A-DInSAR techniques to update the knowledge of the extent and rates of deformation of subsiding areas in low-lying territories such as river deltas. The outputs of such monitoring can be of primary importance for the future protection of the territory and the flooding risk mitigation.  相似文献

Understanding fluid flow data, especially vortices, is still a challenging task. Sophisticated visualization tools help to gain insight. In this paper, we present a novel approach for the interactive comparison of scalar fields using isosurfaces, and its application to fluid flow datasets. Features in two scalar fields are defined by largest contour segmentation after topological simplification. These features are matched using a volumetric similarity measure based on spatial overlap of individual features. The relationships defined by this similarity measure are ranked and presented in a thumbnail gallery of feature pairs and a graph representation showing all relationships between individual contours. Additionally, linked views of the contour trees are provided to ease navigation. The main render view shows the selected features overlapping each other. Thus, by displaying individual features and their relationships in a structured fashion, we enable exploratory visualization of correlations between similar structures in two scalar fields. We demonstrate the utility of our approach by applying it to a number of complex fluid flow datasets, where the emphasis is put on the comparison of vortex related scalar quantities.  相似文献

Web portals have emerged as an important means by which to access data on the worldwide. The people that use these applications need to ensure that the data recovered is suitable for the task at hand. That is, they need to know the level of quality of the data obtained. This paper introduces the PoDQA (Portal Data Quality Assessment) tool which implements PDQM, a Portal Data Quality Model, which is centered upon the data consumer perspective. Thus, the measurement of data quality is carried out by using the point of view of data consumers. Our work aims to fill the lack of specific proposals for the DQ evaluation in Web portals and tools that put these proposals into practice. The paper illustrate how PoDQA tool works and how it can be used by data consumers in order to, for example, discover the data quality of a specific web portal. PoDQA also suggests several corrective maintenance activities for users who are interested in the improvement of the data quality of their Web portals.  相似文献

We consider spiking neural P systems with rules allowed to introduce zero, one, or more spikes at the same time. The motivation comes both from constructing small universal systems and from generating strings; previous results from these areas are briefly recalled. Then, the computing power of the obtained systems is investigated, when considering them as number generating and as language generating devices. In the first case, a simpler proof of universality is obtained, while in the latter case we find characterizations of finite and recursively enumerable languages (without using any squeezing mechanism, as it was necessary in the case of standard rules). The relationships with regular languages are also investigated.  相似文献

This paper describes the UJI librarian robot, a mobile manipulator that is able to autonomously locate a book in an ordinary library, and grasp it from a bookshelf, by using eye-in-hand stereo vision and force sensing. The robot is only provided with the book code, a library map and some knowledge about its logical structure and takes advantage of the spatio-temporal constraints and regularities of the environment by applying disparate techniques such as stereo vision, visual tracking, probabilistic matching, motion estimation, multisensor-based grasping, visual servoing and hybrid control, in such a way that it exhibits a robust and dependable performance. The system has been tested, and experimental results show how it is able to robustly locate and grasp a book in a reasonable time without human intervention.  相似文献

An Interactive Approach to Point Cloud Triangulation   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
We present an interactive system for the generation of high quality triangle meshes that allows us to handle hybrid geometry (point clouds, polygons,. . .) as input data. In order to be able to robustly process huge data sets, we exploit graphics hardware features like the raster manager and the z-buffer for specific sub-tasks in the overall procedure. By this we significantly accelerate the stitching of mesh patches and obtain an algorithm for sub-sampling the data points in linear time. The target resolution and the triangle alignment in sub-regions of the resulting mesh can be controlled by adjusting the screen resolution and viewing transformation. An intuitive user interface provides a flexible tool for application dependent optimization of the mesh.  相似文献

Insulins' anabolic and anti-catabolic properties have supposedly led to its misuse in sport. Hence, doping control assays were developed to allow the unequivocal identification of synthetic insulin analogs and metabolic products derived from human insulin and its artificial counterparts in urine and plasma specimens. Analyses were based on immunoaffinity purification and subsequent characterization of target analytes by top-down sequencing-based approaches, which were conducted with hybrid tandem mass spectrometers that consisted of either quadrupole-linear ion trap or linear ion trap-orbitrap analyzers. Diagnostic product ions and analytical strategies are presented and discussed in light of the need to unambiguously identify misused drugs in urine and plasma specimens for doping control.  相似文献

In this paper, we study pinning-controllability of networks of coupled dynamical systems. In particular, we study the problem of asymptotically driving a network of coupled identical oscillators onto some desired common reference trajectory by actively controlling only a limited subset of the whole network. The reference trajectory is generated by an exogenous independent oscillator, and pinned nodes are coupled to it through a linear state feedback. We describe the time evolution of the complex dynamical system in terms of the error dynamics. Thereby, we reformulate the pinning-controllability problem as a global asymptotic stability problem. By using Lyapunov-stability theory and algebraic graph theory, we establish tractable sufficient conditions for global pinning-controllability in terms of the network topology, the oscillator dynamics, and the linear state feedback.  相似文献
