It has been demonstrated that a spectrochemical analysis of carbon using the laser plasma method can be successfully applied to inspect the carbonation of concrete by detecting carbon produced in aged concrete by a chemical reaction of Ca(OH)2 with CO2 gas in environmental air, turning into CaCO3, which induces degradation of the quality of building concrete. A comparative study has been made using a TEA CO2 laser (500-1000 mJ) and a Q-switched Nd-YAG laser (50-200 mJ) to search for the optimum conditions for carbon analysis, proving the advantage of the TEA CO2 laser for this purpose. Also, it was clarified that laser irradiation with suitable defocusing conditions is a crucial point for obtaining high sensitivity in the detection of carbon. Practical experiments on the inspection of carbonation were carried out using both a concrete sample that had been intentionally carbonated by exposure to high concentrations of CO2 gas and a naturally carbonated concrete sample. As a result, good coincidence was observed between the laser method and the ordinary method, which uses the chemical indicator phenolphthalein, implying that this laser technique is applicable as an in situ quantitative method of inspection for carbonation of concrete.  相似文献

We report on experimental verification of optical trapping using multiple beams generated by a vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) array. Control of the spatial and temporal emission of a VCSEL array provides flexibility for manipulation of microscopic objects with compact hardware. Simultaneous capture of multiple objects and translation of an object without mechanical movement are demonstrated by an experimental system equipped with 8 x 8 VCSEL array sources. A three-dimensional finite element modeling is applied to the characteristic evaluation of the piezoelectric gyroscopes. The Coriolis' effect is incorporated with the three-dimensional finite element code that we have already developed. There is no limitation for the vibrational modes and the direction of the gyratory axis. The piezoelectric thin plate gyroscope in plane vibration is again considered for the demonstration. The solution characteristics are compared with those of the two-dimensional modeling and also with the experimental results. Reasonable agreement is achieved. The application is then extended to a bimorph-type gyroscope vibrating out of plane, which is only numerically considered for another example of demonstration. The examination shows that, with this configuration, not only the rotation but also the gyratory axis can be detected in the three-dimensional space  相似文献

Piezoelectric transformers are nothing but ultrasonic resonators with two pairs of electrodes provided on the surface of a piezoelectric substrate in which electrical energy is carried in the mechanical form. The input and output electrodes are arranged to provide the impedance transformation, which results in the voltage transformation. As they are operated at a resonance, the electrical equivalent circuit approach has traditionally been developed in a rather empirical way and has been used for analysis and design. The present paper deals with the analysis of the piezoelectric transformers based on the three-dimensional finite element modelling. The PIEZO3D code that we have developed is modified to include the external loading conditions. The finite element approach is now available for a wide variety of the electrical boundary conditions. The equivalent circuit of lumped parameters can also be derived from the finite element method (FEM) solution if required. The simulation of the present transformers is made for the low intensity operation and compared with the experimental results. Demonstration is made for basic Rosen-type transformers in which the longitudinal mode of a plate plays an important role; in which the equivalent circuit of lumped constants has been used. However, there are many modes of vibration associated with the plate, the effect of which cannot always be ignored. In the experiment, the double resonances are sometimes observed in the vicinity of the operating frequency. The simulation demonstrates that this is due to the coupling of the longitudinal mode with the flexural mode. Thus, the simulation provides an invaluable guideline to the transformer design  相似文献

The temperature dependence of tensile fracture behavior and tensile strength of a two-dimensional woven BN-coated Hi-Nicalon™ SiC fiber-reinforced SiC matrix composite fabricated by polymer infiltration pyrolysis (PIP) were studied. A tensile test of the composite was conducted in air at temperatures of 298 (room temperature), 1200, 1400, and 1600 K. The composite showed a nonlinear behavior for all the test temperatures; however, a large decrease in tensile strength was observed above 1200 K. Young's modulus was estimated from the initial linear regime of the tensile stress–strain curves at room and elevated temperatures, and a decrease in Young's modulus became significant above 1200 K. The multiple transverse cracking that occurred was independent of temperature, and the transverse crack density was measured from fractographic observations of the tested specimens at room and elevated temperatures. The temperature dependence of the effective interfacial shear stress was estimated from the measurements of the transverse crack density. The temperature dependence of in situ fiber strength properties was determined from fracture mirror size on the fracture surfaces of fibers. The decrease in the tensile strength of the composite up to 1400 K was attributed to the degradation in the strength properties of in situ fibers, and to the damage behavior exception of the fiber properties for 1600 K.  相似文献

For an ATM switch system, we have developed a 100-Gb/s input/output (I/O) throughput optical I/O interface ATM switch multichip module (MCM) that has 320-ch optical I/O ports. This MCM is fabricated using ceramic (MCM-C) technology and very-small highly-parallel O/E and E/O optical converters. It uses 0.25-μm complementary metal oxide semiconductors (CMOS) ATM switch large scale integrations (LSIs) and has a total I/O throughput of up to 160 Gb/s. A prototype module with total I/O throughput of 100 Gb/s has been partially assembled using eight optical I/O interface blocks, each composed of a 40-ch O/E converter and a 40-ch E/O converter; the data rate per channel is from dc to 700 Mb/s. The redox behavior and states of Cu ions in Cu ion-exchanged MFI (Cu(n)-MFI, n: exchange level) have been investigated by means of temperature-programmed desorption (TPD) of oxygen, diffuse reflectance (DR) UV–VIS spectroscopy and Cu+ photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy. TPD chromatograms of oxygen from Cu(n)-MFI were characterized by the appearance of three desorption peaks: (below 200°C), β (300–500°C) and γ (above 500°C). It has been suggested that and β oxygen are extra-lattice oxygen adsorbed on Cu ions, while γ oxygen is lattice oxygen coordinated to Cu ions. The Cu+ emission was tremendously reduced once the catalyst contacted with O2 and NO at elevated temperatures such as 500°C, and it was almost invisible under the working state of the catalyst, suggesting that PL-active Cu+ ions are not real active sites under the working state. The desorption of β oxygen was intimately related to the creation of active centers for the NO decomposition reaction. DR measurements showed that the desorption of β oxygen caused tetragonal Cu2+ to decrease and trigonal Cu2+ to increase simultaneously. It has been proposed that both Cu2+ and Cu+ are involved in the NO decomposition catalysis over Cu-MFI under the working state.  相似文献

The effect of surface-modified SiTiCO (Tyranno®) fiber on the tensile behavior of SiC-matrix minicomposites has been examined. Standard SiTiCO fiber and two kinds of surface-modified fibers were used and the composites were fabricated by a polymer infiltration pyrolysis process. The strengths of the surface-modified-fiber-reinforced minicomposites were significantly improved compared to that of the standard fiber minicomposite. The scattering of tensile strength also decreased with the use of surface-modified fibers. The results demonstrate the achievement of SiTiCO-fiber-reinforced SiC-matrix composite by modifying the surface chemistry of the fiber.  相似文献
