Cellular orientation control is important for tissue regeneration. Design of oriented structures for cells with suitable features can be used in tissue engineering. One of the methods of cellular orientation with the aim of regenerating which damaged tissues is utilizing oriented biocompatible substrates. This paper reports a one-step method with different solvents to fabricate porous micropatterned polyhydroxybutyrate scaffold sheets. The results indicated that the porosity and pore morphology of the scaffolds are viable with respect to proliferation rate, and a micropattern for cell alignment. Stem cells culturing proved that the scaffold sheets are suitable for cell culturing. Preliminary experiments indicate that the 2-D scaffold sheets are very promising as basis for building 3-D scaffolds. 相似文献

This study explores the first application of a Genetic Algorithm hybrid with Particle Swarm Optimization (GAHPSO) for design optimization of a plate-fin heat exchanger. A total number of seven design parameters are considered as the optimization variables and the constraints are handled by penalty function method. The effectiveness and accuracy of the proposed algorithm is demonstrated through an illustrative example. Comparing the results with the corresponding results using GA and PSO reveals that the GAHPSO can converge to optimum solution with higher accuracy. 相似文献

Recently, a massive focus has been made on demand response (DR) programs, aimed to electricity price reduction, transmission lines congestion resolving, security enhancement and improvement of market liquidity. Basically, demand response programs are divided into two main categories namely, incentive-based programs and time-based programs. The focus of this paper is on Interruptible/Curtailable service (I/C) and capacity market programs (CAP), which are incentive-based demand response programs including penalties for customers in case of no responding to load reduction. First, by using the concept of price elasticity of demand and customer benefit function, economic model of above mentioned programs is developed. The proposed model helps the independent system operator (ISO) to identify and employ relevant DR program which both improves the characteristics of the load curve and also be welcome by customers. To evaluate the performance of the model, simulation study has been conducted using the load curve of the peak day of the Iranian power system grid in 2007. In the numerical study section, the impact of these programs on load shape and load level, and benefit of customers as well as reduction of energy consumption are shown. In addition, by using strategy success indices the results of simulation studies for different scenarios are analyzed and investigated for determination of the scenarios priority. 相似文献

Steady two-dimensional free convection heat transfer from an isothermal horizontal cylinder located above an adiabatic horizontal surface is studied experimentally and numerically. Experiments are carried out using a Mach–Zehnder interferometer for the ratios of cylinder spacing from the adiabatic surface to its diameter L/D = 0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.5, 0.7, and 0.9 and the Rayleigh number range of 500 to 15,000. Also, a specifically developed computer code based on the finite-volume method, the SIMPLE algorithm, and nonorthogonal discretization grid system is used for the solution of the mass-, momentum-, and energy-governing equations for the Rayleigh numbers ranging from 100 to 100,000 and L/D ranging from 0.1 to 1.7. The effects of the Rayleigh number and spacing from the adiabatic surface on both local and average Nusselt numbers around the cylinder are investigated. A correlation based on the numerical data for the average Nusselt number of the cylinder as a function of Rayleigh number and L/D is presented in the aforementioned ranges. 相似文献

Spinning Reserve is one of the ancillary services which is essential to satisfy system security constraints when the power system faces with a contingency. In this paper, Day Ahead Demand Response Program as one of the incentive-based Demand Response programs is implemented as a source of spinning reserve. In this regard, certain number of demands are selected according to a sensitivity analysis, and simulated as virtual generation units. The reserve market is cleared for Spinning Reserve allocation considering a probabilistic technique. A comparison is performed between the absence and existence of Day Ahead Demand Response Program from both economical and reliability viewpoints. This paper focuses on the application of fuzzy logic (FL) to predict the forced convection heat transfer from V‐shaped plate internal surfaces exposed to an air impingement slot jet. The aim of the present paper is to consider the effects of the angle of a V‐shaped plate (Φ), slot‐to‐plate spacing ratio (Z/W), and Reynolds number (Re) variation on average heat transfer from the V‐shaped plate internal surfaces. The data used for developing the FL structure was obtained experimentally by a Mach‐Zehnder interferometer. The proposed FL was developed using MATLAB functions. It was observed that the average Nusselt number will be decreased with an increase in jet spacing and be increased with an increase in Reynolds number and angle of V‐shaped plate. Moreover, it is also shown that fuzzy logic is a powerful technique to use for predicting heat transfer due to its low error rate. The average error of the fuzzy predictions compared with experimental data was found to be 0.33% for this study. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A comprehensive computational fluid dynamic model has been developed using COMSOL Multiphysics 5.4 software to predict the behavior of a membrane reactor in dehydrogenation of methylcyclohexane for hydrogen production. A reliable reaction kinetic of dehydrogenation reaction and a permeation mechanism of hydrogen through silica membrane have been used in computational fluid dynamic modeling. For performance comparison, an equivalent traditional fixed bed reactor without hydrogen removal has been also modeled. After model validation, it has been used to evaluate the operating parameters effect on the performance of both the silica membrane reactor and the equivalent traditional reactor as well. The operating temperature ranged between 473 and 553 K, pressure between 1 and 2.5 bar, sweep factor from ?6.22 to 25 and feed flow rate from 1 to 5 × 10?6 mol/s. The membrane reactor performed better than the equivalent traditional reactor, achieving as best result complete methylcyclohexane conversion and 96% hydrogen recovery. 相似文献

This paper presents a robust, efficient and parameter-setting-free evolutionary approach for the optimal design of compact heat exchangers. A learning automata based particle swarm optimization (LAPSO) is developed for optimization task. Seven design parameters, including discreet and continuous ones, are considered as optimization variables. To make the constraint handling straightforward, a self-adaptive penalty function method is employed. The efficiency and the accuracy of the proposed method are demonstrated through two illustrative examples that include three objectives, namely minimum total annual cost, minimum weight and minimum number of entropy generation units. Numerical results indicate that the presented approach generates the optimum configuration with higher accuracy and a higher success rate when compared with genetic algorithms (GAs) and particle swarm optimization (PSO). 相似文献
