Results for the performance of lithium/Mn02 batteries containing solid polymer electrolytes based on poly(ethylene oxide) blends with some acrylic derivatives are presented. The ionic conductivities of the electrolytes are promising for battery application. It was found, however, that interfacial phenomena impair the battery efficiency. Impedance spectroscopy shows resistive limitations at the anode interface of the batteries, caused either by formation of an electrically distinguishable resistive layer or by chemical interaction between the polymer and lithium, influencing, most probably, the kinetics of the lithium oxidation reaction.  相似文献

Currently, infection control guidelines in hospitals and other health care institutions are more expert-driven than user-oriented. In order to enhance the usability of the expert-driven guideline format, we developed a website for the communication of existing guidelines that better fit the practical information needs of health care workers (HCWs). We employed a user-centered design process that involved two studies.In the initial study, 28 HCWs were asked to solve tasks using existing, paper-based infection control guidelines. In order to detect their strategies and problems, the participants were asked to think aloud. Usability problems occurred due to poorly structured information, insufficient quality of information, and a mismatch between experts’ and HCWs’ vocabulary. To overcome these shortcomings, three design principles were applied for communicating infection control guidelines: better navigation (the guidelines should be searchable in several ways); multimodality (the guidelines should not be presented as text only), and action-orientation (the guidelines should be presented as HCWs’ behaviors). A website was developed to meet these principles.In the second study, the same 28 HCWs completed tasks identical to those of the first study while thinking aloud, but this time using the website. The percentage of correctly completed tasks increased and the mean time for task completion decreased significantly. Also, respondents were more satisfied with the website than the paper-based guidelines. The number of problems due to poor information quality and a mismatch in vocabulary declined, although the number of structural problems increased. This can probably be explained by the fact that the navigation structure was user-generated (using Card Sort), in contrast to a standardized answer format based on common usability principles.Overall, we found that involving HCWs in the development process is important to create a sense of ownership and to foster the implementation of the guidelines, which might eventually result in compliance and reduce health care-associated infections. This paper outlines concrete steps for how to involve HCWs in the design process.  相似文献

The study investigates the impact of operating parameters such as temperature (90, 100, 110, 120 °C), airflow rate (10, 15, 20 L h−1), and sample weight (3, 6, 9 g) on the oxidative stability of cold-pressed camelina and hemp seed oils using the Rancimat apparatus. Conducted analysis indicates a significant influence of temperature on oils' induction time. Moreover, higher airflows should be selected at high analysis temperatures. Based on the calculated parameters of the oxidation kinetics, it was shown that hemp oil has higher activation energy values than camelina oil. Response surface methodology (RSM) indicates that to minimize the determination time of camelina oil oxidation, the following analysis conditions should be selected: sample weight (SW) = 33.5 g, airflow (AF) = 20 L h−1, and temperature (T) = 120 °C. However, for hemp oil, these parameters should be SW = 5.56 g, AF = 15 L h−1, T = 120 °C. Sample mass does not significantly impact oils induction time, which depends mainly on the temperature and airflow. Practical applications: The conducted research shows that the parameters of the cold-pressed camelina and hemp oils oxidative stability have to be determined experimentally. The determined parameters for assessing the oxidative stability will reduce the analysis time and the possibility of interpolating the obtained result at different temperatures and analysis parameters.  相似文献

Accelerated storage tests are frequently used to assess the oxidative stability of foods and related systems due to its reproducibility. Various methods and experimental conditions are used to measure lipid oxidation. Differences between laboratories make it necessary to determine the repeatability and reproducibility of oxidation tests performed under the same conditions. The objective of the present interlaboratory study was to evaluate the outcome of a storage test for two different bulk oils, sunflower oil (SFO) and rapeseed oil (RSO), during a period of 9 weeks at 20°C, 30°C, 40°C, and 60°C. Sixteen laboratories were provided with bottled oils and conducted the storage tests according to a detailed protocol. Lipid oxidation was monitored by the formation of conjugated dienes (CD) and the activation energy (Ea) was determined for comparative purposes and statistically evaluated. An increase in CD formation was observed for both oils when the storage temperature was increased in all laboratories. The Ea,1 ranged from 47.9 to 73.3 kJ mol−1 in RSO and from 27.8 to 62.6 kJ mol−1 in SFO, with average values of 58.2 and 46.8 kJ mol−1, respectively. The reproducibility coefficients were 10.9% and 18.2% for RSO and SFO, respectively. Practical applications: In order to compare results on oxidative stability of foods derived from different studies, the reproducibility of storage tests and methods employed to evaluate the oxidation level should be considered. This study provides fundamental data on the reproducibility of lipid oxidation under accelerated storage conditions and defines important parameters to be considered for the conduction of experiments.  相似文献

In this article, synthesis and properties of novel dimethacrylic resin (ISETDMA) based on human friendly, biobased isosorbide was described. Its potential as a possible diluting monomer for medical applications, mainly dental restorative systems was assessed. The resin was obtained in two‐step synthesis including ethoxylation of isosorbide and subsequent methacrylation with methacryloyl chloride. 1HNMR, FTIR, and electrospray ionization mass spectroscopy (ESI‐MS) techniques were used to identify products. ISETDMA as well as composition with 2,2‐bis[4‐(2‐hydroxy‐3‐methacryloyloxypropoxy)phenyl]propane were polymerized using UV initiator IRGACURE 651. Double bond conversion, polymerization shrinkage, water sorption, and sol fraction of resulting polymers were determined. Selected mechanical (flexural strength and modulus, Brinell hardness) and thermomechanical (dynamic mechanical analysis) properties were also investigated. Triethylene glycol dimethacrylate and 2,2‐bis(4‐(2‐methacryloxyethyl‐1‐oxy)phenyl)propane based homopolymers and copolymers were prepared as reference for comparison of particular properties. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. This work presents conditions and method for obtaining foamed melamine–formaldehyde–butanone (Mel‐F‐MEK) materials of improved thermal stability. They were obtained from melamine solution in reactive solvents based on ethyl methyl ketone and 4,4′‐diphenylmethane diisocyanate. Some properties of obtained polyurethane foams were examined, e.g., apparent density, water absorption, dimensional stability, thermal conductivity, flammability, as well as static and dynamic thermal stability and compressive strength. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. PA nanocomposites are prepared from clays organophilized with a phosphonium and an ammonium salt, and sodium montmorillonite is used as reference. The analysis of mechanical and micromechanical properties of the composites reveal that several micromechanical deformation processes occur in the PA/MMT composites. The matrix cavitates at relatively small stress. Processes related to non‐exfoliated clay structural units are initiated at larger stresses. Sound is emitted mainly by the fracture of particles, but debonding may also occur. The plastic deformation of the matrix dominates at larger stresses and deformations. The various local deformations are independent of each other and composite properties are not determined by silicate related processes but by the deformation of the matrix.

Sorption is a suitable method for the removal of all contaminants in the ionic form, also including heavy metal ions in the presence of complexing agents from different systems. The aim of this study was a comparison of Cu(II), Ni(II), and Pb(II) sorption in the presence of a complexing agent of a new generation on the strongly basic anion exchangers Amberjet 4200, Amberjet 4600, and Purolite A 520E under different chemical conditions. In the investigation, methylglycinediacetic acid (MGDA), patented by BASF The Chemical Company (Germany) and marketed under the brand name Trilon M, was used. It is a strong complexing agent, readily biodegradable in compliance with Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) standards. It was found that the sorption efficiency of strongly basic anion exchangers varied, depending on the metal ions concentration, the pH, the contact time, the temperature, and the properties of anion exchangers, that is, their forms. From the determined breakthrough curves, the distribution coefficients and the ion exchange capacities were calculated. Besides, two different kinetic behaviors were tested for the investigated systems. The experimental data fitted using the Langmuir, Freundlich, and Elovich sorption models, were applied to describe the equilibrium isotherms and determine the isotherm constants. The variations of thermodynamic functions were also calculated.  相似文献

Resins having two types of ligands: guanidine and aminoguanidine on copolymers of vinylbenzyl chloride (VBC)/ methyl methacrylate (MM)/ divinylbenzene (DVB) and on styrene (S)/DVB have been investigated in respect to their selectivity towards dicyanoaurate anions Resins coded CH and CP displayed high selectivity and sorption of gold from its diluted solution. They sorbed 10 - 11?mg of gold/g and dicyanoaurate distribution coefficient reached 1890 and 2290, respectively. Resins have the following selectivity order when sorption was carried out from solution of 5.08?mg Au/dm3: resin U-BIS Zn>Ag>Au>Cu; resin CP Au>Zn»Cu»Ag; resin CH Au>Zn=Ag»Cu. The work presents a model of convective drying of a highly shrinking material of cylindrical shape. To identify the effective diffusivity as a function of local temperature and moisture content the problem was solved as an inverse problem. A set of experimental data served for model validation. The optimization algorithms were used to solve PDE system and fit numerically obtained curves to the experimental data using the effective diffusivity as the only adjustable parameter.  相似文献
