The purpose of this paper is to discuss the requirements and challenges of pyrolysis oil's transportation in Finland. Pyrolysis oil is a new type of renewable liquid fuel that can be utilised in applications such as heat and electricity production. It has never been transported on a large scale in Finland. Possible options are transport by road, rail and waterway. The most significant requirements in its transportation are created by acidity and high density of pyrolysis oil, which impose requirements for the materials and transport equipment. The study described here shows that constant domestic transportation of pyrolysis oil is most reasonably operated with tank trucks. Rail-based transport may have potential for domestic fixed routes, and transport by water could be utilised in exporting. All transportation methods have limitations and advantages relative to each other. Ultimately, the production site and end-user's locations will determine the most suitable transport method. 相似文献

Several production planning tasks in the printed circuit board (PCB) assembly industry involve the estimation of the component placement times for different PCB types and placement machines. This kind of task may be, for example, the scheduling of jobs or line balancing for single or multiple jobs. The simplest approach to time estimation is to let the production time be a linear function of the number of components to be placed. To achieve more accurate results, the model should include more parameters (e.g. the number of different component types, the number of different component shapes, the dimensions of the PCBs, etc.). In this study we train multilayer neural networks to approximate the assembly times of two different types of assembly machines based on several parameter combinations. It turns out that conventional learning methods are prone to overfitting when the number of hidden units of the network is large in relation to the number of training cases. To avoid this and complicated training and testing, we use Bayesian regularisation to achieve efficient learning and good accuracy automatically. 相似文献

This study examined the concentrations of umami compounds in pork loins cooked at 3 different temperatures and 3 different lengths of cooking times. The pork loins were cooked with the sous vide technique. The free amino acids (FAAs), glutamic acid and aspartic acid; the 5′‐nucleotides, inosine‐5′‐monophosphate (IMP) and adenosine‐5′‐monophosphate (AMP); and corresponding nucleoside inosine of the cooked meat and its released juice were determined by high‐performance liquid chromatography. Under the experimental conditions used, the cooking temperature played a more important role than the cooking time in the concentration of the analyzed compounds. The amino acid concentrations in the meat did not remain constant under these experimental conditions. The most notable effect observed was that of the cooking temperature and the higher amino acid concentrations in the released juice of meat cooked at 80 °C compared with 60 and 70 °C. This is most likely due to the heat induced hydrolysis of proteins and peptides releasing water soluble FAAs from the meat into the cooking juice. In this experiment, the cooking time and temperature had no influence on the IMP concentrations observed. However, the AMP concentrations increased with the increasing temperature and time. This suggests that the choice of time and temperature in sous vide cooking affects the nucleotide concentration of pork meat. The Sous vide technique proved to be a good technique to preserve the cooking juice and the results presented here show that cooking juice is rich in umami compounds, which can be used to provide a savory or brothy taste. 相似文献

In this article, we have reported the fabrication of various morphological porous Co3O4 by thermal decomposition of cobalt oxalate at open atmospheric conditions. Uniform cobalt oxalate microrods and microneedles were synthesized without using any surfactants or templates in large scale. The cobalt oxalate preparation method was played a crucial role on the crystal structure and its morphology. The as prepared cobalt oxalates and its corresponding cobalt oxides were characterized by using the thermogravimetric analysis, X-ray diffraction (XRD), field-emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and nitrogen adsorption analysis. The XRD results indicated that the orthorhombic and monoclinic cobalt oxalates were formed in different experimental conditions. The influence of preparation method of cobalt oxalates and cobalt precursors on the final morphology has been investigated. The M-H loop of the Co3O4 porous microrods and microneedles showed the presence of paramagnetic properties at room temperatures. A plausible mechanism of both cobalt oxalates and Co3O4 formation was proposed based on the experimental results. 相似文献

Deep brain stimulation (DBS) is effective in reducing motor symptoms in Parkinson's disease (PD). However, objective methods for quantifying its efficacy are lacking. We present a principal component (PC)-based tracking method for quantifying the effects of DBS in PD by using electromyography (EMG) and acceleration measurements. Ten parameters capturing PD characteristic signal features were initially extracted from isometric EMG and acceleration recordings. Using a PC approach, the original parameters were transformed into a smaller number of PCs. Finally, the effects of DBS were quantified by examining the PCs in a low-dimensional feature space. The EMG and acceleration data from 13 PD patients with DBS ON and OFF, and 13 healthy age-matched controls were used for analysis. Clinical evaluation of patients showed that their motor symptoms were effectively reduced with DBS. The analysis results showed that the signal characteristics of 12 patients were more similar to those of the healthy controls with DBS ON than with DBS OFF. These observations indicate that the PC-based tracking method can be used to objectively quantify the effects of DBS on the neuromuscular function of PD patients. Further studies are suggested to estimate the clinical sensitivity of the method to different types of PD. 相似文献

Members of the microRNA-29 (miR-29) family directly target the DNA methyltransferases, DNMT3A and DNMT3B. Disturbances in the expression levels of miR-29 have been linked to tumorigenesis and tumor aggressiveness. Members of the miR-29 family are currently thought to repress DNA methylation and suppress tumorigenesis by protecting against de novo methylation. Here, we report that members of the miR-29 family repress the activities of DNA methyltransferases and DNA demethylases, which have opposing roles in control of DNA methylation status. Members of the miR-29 family directly inhibited DNA methyltransferases and two major factors involved in DNA demethylation, namely tet methylcytosine dioxygenase 1 (TET1) and thymine DNA glycosylase (TDG). Overexpression of miR-29 upregulated the global DNA methylation level in some cancer cells and downregulated DNA methylation in other cancer cells, suggesting that miR-29 suppresses tumorigenesis by protecting against changes in the existing DNA methylation status rather than by preventing de novo methylation of DNA. 相似文献

A novel porous tube reactor that combines simultaneous reactions and continuous dilution in a single-stage gas-phase process was designed for nanoparticle synthesis. The design is based on the atmospheric pressure chemical vapor synthesis (APCVS) method. In comparison to the conventional hot wall chemical vapor synthesis reactor, the APCVS method offers an effective process for the synthesis of ultrafine metal particles with controlled oxidation. In this study, magnetic iron and maghemite were synthesized using iron pentacarbonyl as a precursor. Morphology, size, and magnetic properties of the synthesized nanoparticles were determined. The X-ray diffraction results show that the porous tube reactor produced nearly pure iron or maghemite nanoparticles with crystallite sizes of 24 and 29 nm, respectively. According to the scanning mobility particle sizer data, the geometric number mean diameter was 110 nm for iron and 150 nm for the maghemite agglomerates. The saturation magnetization value of iron was 150 emu/g and that of maghemite was 12 emu/g, measured with superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) magnetometry. A computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation was used to model the temperature and flow fields and the decomposition of the precursor as well as the mixing of the precursor vapor and the reaction gas in the reactor. An in-house CFD model was used to predict the extent of nucleation, coagulation, sintering, and agglomeration of the iron nanoparticles. CFD simulations predicted a primary particle size of 36 nm and an agglomerate size of 134 nm for the iron nanoparticles, which agreed well with the experimental data.Copyright 2015 American Association for Aerosol Research 相似文献

The present work studies the operation control of so-called collect-and-place component placement machines. These kinds of machines are suited for the flexible manufacturing of various printed circuit board products. These machines operate in cycles where a set of components is first collected from the component feeders to the vacuum nozzles of the component placement head. The head then moves on the circuit board and places the components to their appropriate locations. Different component types require the use of different nozzle types, but the placement head has only a limited capacity for nozzles. Hence, the ability to change nozzles every now and then allows the manipulation of a great variety of component types with the same machine. This is accomplished by storing a larger selection of nozzles in a separate nozzle magazine from where the nozzle collection of the placement head can be updated. The cost of changing the nozzle setup is, however, relatively large compared to the time costs of other operations in the placement cycle. What complicates things more is that the nozzle change cost is affected by the organization of nozzles in the magazine, too. The aim of this work is to determine the contents of the nozzle magazine in such a way that the change operation times are as small as possible. We develop two heuristics (a genetic algorithm and a swarm optimization algorithm) for this purpose and evaluate their performance on sample problems. Both heuristic approaches are capable of processing realistic production problems, in particular the genetic algorithm finds near-optimal results for small problem instances and outperforms clearly our other approaches for larger problems. 相似文献

Expectations on wastewater sludge treatment and recovery of its energy and material contents are increasing because of the tightening legislation and the obligation to reduce environmental impacts of sludge disposal. The objective of this study was to analyze the performance of a heat and power generating sludge combustion plant from technical and economical viewpoints and to compare the studied concept to optional sludge treatment technologies. The plant performance was modeled for sewage sludge produced by approximately 200,000 inhabitants. Two plant sizes below 1000 kWe range were investigated, the smaller plant using sludge as the only fuel and the larger plant with wood chips as the additional fuel. The plants were compared with heat-only plants of similar size. The payback periods for heat-only plants are typically shorter than with the cogenerating plants because the changes in plant investment affect stronger the economy than do the revenues from selling electricity. The gate fee of sludge treatment has the strongest effect on the payback period. The selection of the plant concept (cogeneration, heat only or pure electricity generation) is, however, affected more by the local demand of heat and electricity than pure economy. The selection of the optimal technology for sludge treatment is a complicated task. The studied concept can be the optimal choice, for example, if there is no cement kiln or co-combustion possibility near the source of sludge, if there is no land enhancement demand for the digested sludge, or if the energy surplus from combustion compared to anaerobic digestion is considered more valuable than nutrient recovery possibility from digestion. If the new technology concept is found competitive, it still has to meet the challenge of acceptability from the business, social and cultural points of view. 相似文献
