The effect of gas flow rate on surface morphology and crystal quality of ZnTe layers grown on the (1 0 0) GaAs substrates by atmospheric pressure metalorganic vapor phase epitaxy with dimethylzinc and diethyltelluride as the source materials was investigated. The surface morphology of the ZnTe epilayers is significantly improved with increasing the total gas flow rate. X-ray rocking curve and photoluminescence measurements indicate that the total gas flow rate plays a vital role in the growth characteristics of the ZnTe epilayers, and the ZnTe epilayer with best crystal quality is obtained at the total gas flow rate around 300 standard cubic centimeters per minute (sccm) in this work.  相似文献

From September 1995 to August 1996, 750 chickens from 66 farms sent to an abattoir in Nagano Prefecture, Japan, were examined for the presence of Erysipelothrix spp. Erysipelothrix spp. were isolated from 118 (15.7%) of 750 skin samples, 27 (7.3%) of 372 hypoderm samples, 12 (1.9%) of 630 throat samples, 106 (59.2%) of 179 feather samples, and none of 257 spleen samples. Of 66 farms, 55 farms (83.3%) sent Erysipelothrix-positive chickens and 11 farms (16.7%) only negative ones. Of 297 Erysipelothrix isolates, 273 isolates were identified as Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae and 24 as Erysipelothrix tonsillarum. E. rhusiopathiae isolates were serotyped into nine different serovars. Of the 273 E. rhusiopathiae isolates, 33 (11.1%) were serotyped to serovar 6; 22 (7.4%) were serovar 5; 19 (6.4%) were serovar 2; 15 (5.1%) were serovar 8; 2 (0.7%) were serovar 21; 4 each (1.3% each) were serovars 1b, 9, 12, and 19; and 178 (59.9%) were untypeable. Of 24 E. tonsillarum isolates, 15 (5.1%) were serotyped to serovar 3, and 9 (3.0%) were serovar 7. These findings indicate that chickens seem to be a potential reservoir of Erysipelothrix spp. in nature and to be a source of human Erysipelothrix infection.  相似文献

Two types of pure-silica-core fibers (one low-OH, Al-jacketed, one medium-OH, polyimide jacketed) suitable for use as sensing fibers for Raman-scattering-based temperature measurements in nuclear environments have been subjected to gamma and fission reactor irradiation tests. Spectral attenuation measurements were performed between 500 and 1500 nm with samples kept at room temperature, 80 and 300/spl deg/C. The Al-jacketed fiber was developed for use under ionizing radiation and showed lower loss compared with the polyimide-jacketed fiber at room temperature under gamma irradiation. Both fiber types showed similar spectra at room temperature with the main part of the loss originating from a band tail extending from the ultraviolet. Thermal bleaching of the radiation-induced defects was found to be effective in both fiber types. At 80/spl deg/C the loss in both fibers was compounded of a band at 625 nm together with the band tail from the ultraviolet, which now had a strength several times lower compared with room-temperature irradiations. At 300/spl deg/C, both fibers exhibited similar low-loss spectra, except for the band at 625 nm which reached levels of approximately /spl sim/2000 dB/km at an accumulated dose of 2.8/spl times/10/sup 4/ Gy(SiO/sub 2/). In light of the experimental spectral findings, selection of suitable Raman-distributed temperature sensors for nuclear plants can be made.  相似文献

A report is given of the 1st confirmed outbreak of Albizia versicolor poisoning in Malawi and the 1st natural outbreak reported in sheep and goats. Approximately 800 animals are estimated to have died over a 9-year period on a government farm near Lake Malawi. Deaths occurred exclusively from August to December when ripe dry pods that fell to the ground were ingested. The major clinical signs were hyperaesthesia, wild running, lateral recumbency with rapid leg movements, nystagmus and rapid blinking. Approximately 75% of clinical cases made a full and rapid recovery. Sheep more often showed signs of poisoning than goats which was attributed to inherent susceptibility rather than selective feeding. The majority of animals affected were under 1 year of age. A series of experiments was conducted and all animals dosed with 6.4 g/kg or more of dry pods died with typical clinical signs. Although A. versicolor is well known to the local population there appeared to be no appreciation of its toxicity. Poisonings are probably rare under traditional management systems.  相似文献

Studies in vitro suggested that inflammatory cytokines could cause myocardial dysfunction. However, the detailed mechanism for the cytokine-induced myocardial dysfunction in vivo remains to be examined. We thus examined this point in our new canine model in vivo, in which microspheres with and without IL-1beta were injected into the left main coronary artery. Left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) was evaluated by echocardiography for 1 wk. Immediately after the microsphere injection, LVEF decreased to approximately 30% in both groups. While LVEF rapidly normalized in 2 d in the control group, it was markedly impaired in the IL-1beta group even at day 7. Pretreatment with dexamethasone or with aminoguanidine, an inhibitor of inducible nitric oxide synthase, prevented the IL-1beta-induced myocardial dysfunction. Nitrotyrosine concentration, an in vivo marker of the peroxynitrite production by nitric oxide and superoxide anion, was significantly higher in the myocardium of the IL-1beta group than in that of the control group or the group cotreated with dexamethasone or aminoguanidine. There was an inverse linear relationship between myocardial nitrotyrosine concentrations and LVEF. These results indicate that IL-1beta induces sustained myocardial dysfunction in vivo and that nitric oxide produced by inducible nitric oxide synthase and the resultant formation of peroxynitrite are substantially involved in the pathogenesis of the cytokine-induced sustained myocardial dysfunction in vivo.  相似文献

BACKGROUND/AIMS: Vasopressin has been reported to reduce bile flow, but its effects on bile acid secretion and bile acid-related hepatotoxicity are still unclear. We therefore investigated the influence of vasopressin on the hepatotoxicity and biliary excretion of taurochenodeoxycholic acid in primary cultured rat hepatocytes and isolated perfused rat liver models. METHODS/RESULTS: 1) Addition of vasopressin to hepatocyte cultures significantly decreased lactate dehydrogenase release as compared to cultures exposed to 1 mM taurochenodeoxycholic acid alone, and also reduced intracellular taurochenodeoxycholic acid content from 19.3 +/- 2.2 to 13.0 +/- 1.6 nmol/mg protein. After 30 min of preincubation with 1 mM taurochenodeoxycholic acid, rinsing and reculture of hepatocytes in bile acid-free medium resulted in gradual decrease in the intracellular level of the bile acid, and addition of vasopressin (10(-9) M) to the reculture medium accelerated this process. 2) Superimposition of vasopressin (330 pmol/l) for 10 min on taurochenodeoxycholic acid infusion (1.0 mumol/min: 25 mumol/l) caused a rapid increase in bile flow and biliary excretion of taurochenodeoxycholic acid (697 +/- 42 vs 584 +/- 27 nmol/10 min per g liver) from perfused rat livers, and significantly reduced lactate dehydrogenase release. 3) Superimposition of the PKC blocker H-7 (5 mumol/l) on taurochenodeoxycholic acid infusion (1.0 mumol/min: 25 mumol/l) caused a gradual increase in bile flow and biliary excretion of taurochenodeoxycholic acid. Furthermore, an additional infusion of vasopressin (100 pmol/l) for 10 min in the presence of H-7 produced a greater increase in bile flow and biliary excretion of taurochenodeoxycholic acid as compared with H-7 alone (754 +/- 71 vs. 657 +/- 26 nmol/g liver). 4) Continuous infusion of vasopressin (330 pmol/l) significantly increased the late peak (10-50 min) of horseradish peroxidase excretion from perfused livers (from 8.48 +/- 1.02 to 21.7 +/- 6.02 ng/g liver). CONCLUSIONS: These findings suggest that vasopressin exerts a protective effect against taurochenodeoxycholic acid-induced hepatotoxicity by stimulating the secretion of this bile acid via intracellular vesicular transport systems.  相似文献

A combined study of anterograde axonal degeneration and Golgi electron microscopic technique was designed to examine the distribution and density of axon terminals from the mediodorsal thalamic nucleus (MD) over layer III pyramidal cells in the prelimbic cortex of the rat. The reconstructive analysis of serial ultrathin sections of gold-toned apical and basal dendrites of layer III pyramidal cells showed that degenerating thalamocortical axon terminals from MD formed asymmetrical synaptic contacts predominantly with dendritic spines of the identified basal dendrites as well as apical dendrites. There was little difference in the numerical density of thalamocortical synapses from MD per unit length of both apical and basal dendrites.  相似文献

The plasma pharmacokinetics of danofloxacin administered at 1.25 mg kg-1 body weight by the intravenous and intramuscular routes were determined in sheep. Tissue distribution was also determined following administration by the intramuscular route at 1.25 mg kg-1 body weight. Danofloxacin had a large volume of distribution at steady state (Vdss) of 2.76 +/- 0.16 h (mean +/- S.E.M.) L kg-1, an elimination half-life (t1/2 beta) of 3.35 +/- 0.23 h, and a body clearance (C1) of 0.63 +/- 0.04 L kg-1 h-1. Following intramuscular administration it achieved a maximum concentration (Cmax) of 0.32 +/- 0.02 microgram mL-1 at 1.23 +/- 0.34 h (tmax) and had a mean residence time (MRT) of 5.45 +/- 0.19 h. Danofloxacin had an absolute bioavailability (F) of 95.71 +/- 4.41% and a mean absorption time (MAT) of 0.81 +/- 0.20 h following intramuscular administration. Mean plasma concentrations of > 0.06 microgram mL-1 were maintained for more than 8 h following intravenous and intramuscular administration. Following intramuscular administration highest concentrations were measured in plasma (0.43 +/- 0.04 microgram mL-1), lung (1.51 +/- 0.18 micrograms g-1), and interdigital skin (0.64 +/- 0.18 microgram g-1) at 1 h, duodenal contents (0.81 +/- 0.40 microgram mL-1), lymph nodes (4.61 +/- 0.35 micrograms g-1), and brain (0.06 +/- 0.00 microgram mL-1) at 2 h, jejunal (10.50 +/- 4.31 micrograms mL-1) and ileal (5.25 +/- 1.67 micrograms mL-1) contents at 4 h, and colonic contents (8.94 +/- 0.65 micrograms mL-1) at 8 h.  相似文献

A 10 Gbit/s pseudorandom (PR) dark soliton data signal has been successfully transmitted over 1200 km for the first time. The dark soliton source was a 1.53 μm DFB LD and was modulated with a push-pull Mach-Zehnder LiNbO3 intensity modulator. A T-flip-flop circuit was used to generate the PR dark soliton.
