“Sample-in-answer-out” type integrated diagnostic devices have been widely recognized as the ultimate solution to simplify testing across healthcare systems. Such systems are equipped with advanced fluidic, mechanical, chemical, biological, and electronic components to handle patient samples without any manual steps therefore have the potential to accelerate intervention and improve patient outcomes. In this regard, the combination of integrated devices and non-invasive sampling has gained a substantial interest to further improve the comfort and safety of patients. In this Review, the pioneering developments in integrated diagnostics are covered and their potential in non-invasive sampling is discussed. The key properties of possible sample types are highlighted by addressing their relevance for the clinical practice. Last, the factors affecting the transition of integrated devices from academia to the market are identified by analyzing the technology readiness levels of selected examples and alternative remedies are explored to increase the rate of survival during this transition. 相似文献

This study attempts to identify the causal and/or direct effects of sociocultural determinants of infant mortality in Turkey within a regional context using causal graph analysis and global and local spatial models. The conceptual framework, combined with the data, shows that fertility and consanguinity have direct effects on infant mortality rates, and that female illiteracy, as a proxy for maternal education, is the main cause of rising infant mortality even in the presence of latent confounding. The surface of estimates further shows that the local effects of female illiteracy and consanguinity are non-stationary across space, calling for location-specific policies. 相似文献

The buoyancy‐induced heat transfer and fluid flow in a triangular enclosure are investigated both numerically and experimentally. The enclosure is heated from one wall and the adjacent wall is insulated. Hypotenuse of the triangle is cooled isothermally. The numerical tests and experiments covered a range of Rayleigh number, Ra, from 1.5 × 104 to 1.5 × 105. The local and average Nusselt numbers are given for different orientation angles. A code was written based on finite difference method in Fortran platform to solve governing equations of natural convection. Experimental and numerical results show good agreement. Traditionally the monitoring of the biopotential signals are only limited to clinical applications. On the other hand, there is a growing demand for these biopotential signals to be used in non-clinical applications in order to improve the quality of life and enable the interaction between humans and machines. However, such non-clinical applications of biopotential signal monitoring requires various improvements not only in terms of size and comfort of the biopotential acquisition systems, but also in terms of their power dissipation. An important building block of the biopotential acquisition systems is the front-end circuitry that defines the quality of the extracted signals and unfortunately consumes unacceptable power, when the currently available circuitry is considered. Therefore, this paper focuses on the advances in low-power and high-performance readout circuit design for the acquisition of biopotential signals. In addition, several application examples will be demonstrated, which proves that the realization of high-performance and low-power readout circuits can actually enable the implementation of miniaturized and comfortable biopotential acquisition systems extending the usage of such systems towards non-clinical applications. 相似文献

The current–voltage and capacitance–voltage characteristics of the nanostructure SnO2/p-Si diode have been investigated. The optical band gap and microstructure properties of the SnO2 film were analyzed by optical absorption method and scanning electron microscopy, respectively. The optical band of the film was found to be 3.58 eV with a direct optical transition. The scanning electron microcopy results show that the SnO2 film has the nanostructure. The ideality factor, barrier height and series resistance values of the nanostructure SnO2/p-Si diode were found to be 2.1, 0.87 eV and 36.35 kΩ, respectively. The barrier height obtained from C–V measurement is higher than obtained from I–V measurement and this discrepancy can be explained by introducing a spatial distribution of barrier heights due to barrier height inhomogeneities, which are available at the nanostructure SnO2/p-Si interface. The interface state density of the diode was determined by conductance technique and was found to be 8.41 × 1010 eV−1 cm−2.It is evaluated that the nanostructure of the SnO2 film has an important effect on the ideality factor, barrier height and interface state density parameters of SnO2/p-Si diode. 相似文献
