Choline chloride + phenylacetic acid‐based deep eutectic solvents are studied. Their most relevant experimental physicochemical properties at different mixing ratios together with the CO2 solubility data obtained in wide pressure and temperature ranges are reported. The presented materials exhibit a significant CO2 capture performance with low corrosion effect when compared with the most common amine‐based CO2 capture agents. Detailed rheological measurements are carried out and various models are applied to describe the dynamic flow behavior of the solvents. The CO2 absorption mechanism is evaluated by studying the behavior of the liquid gas and interface. Due to the advantages of low cost, nontoxicity, and favorable physical properties, these solvents are an environmentally promising alternative for effective CO2 capture technological applications. 相似文献

A polymer–salt-based aqueous two-phase system (ATPS) was developed for the effective extraction and purification of extracellular β-xylosidase from the fermentation broth of recombinant Bacillus megaterium MS941. The effect of molecular weight (MW) of polyethylene glycol (PEG), tie-line length (TLL), volume ratio (VR), crude loading and pH on the recovery performance was evaluated. Under the optimal extraction conditions, β-xylosidase was successfully purified up to 23-fold with a recovery yield of 99% in the bottom salt-rich phase at PEG 4,000/potassium phosphate ATPS comprising TLL of 41.8, VR of 2.3, crude loading (CL) of 30% (w/w) at pH 6. 相似文献

Undoped and Dy3+‐doped barium tantalate phosphors were synthesized by the solid‐state reaction method at 1425°C. Also, 10 mol% Dy3+‐doped BaTa2O6 was sintered between 1150 and 1425°C in order to determine temperature effect on structural and luminescence properties. Afterwards, they were characterized by XRD, SEM‐EDS and photoluminescence (PL) analyses. PL spectra exhibited the excitation peaks between 300 and 440 nm. Two typical emissions were observed at 486.2 nm (blue) and 577.7 nm (yellow) due to the 4F9/2→6H15/2 and 4F9/2→6H13/2 transitions, respectively. Emission intensities increased with increasing doping concentration of Dy3+ up to 10 mol% and then decreased due to the concentration quenching effect. Moreover, depending on the increase in heat treatment temperature, the intensity of emission reached maximum at 1425°C. The calculated CIE chromaticity coordinates of phosphors located in the white light region. 相似文献

A series of hybrid networks based on polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (POSS) were prepared by thiol-epoxy click reaction using commercially available octakis-glycidyl-POSS (G-POSS), trimethylolpropane triglycidyl ether, and trimethylolpropane tris(3-mercaptopropionate) as monomers. The click reaction was simply catalyzed by lithium hydroxide which proceeded readily at ambient conditions in very good yields. The incorporation of G-POSS into the network was clearly determined by transmission electron microscopy, FTIR, and 1H-NMR spectroscopy techniques performed with a model study using 1-butane thiol and G-POSS molecules. The homogeneous distribution of G-POSS up to 5 wt% in the hybrid network was apparently confirmed by morphological investigations. By increasing G-POSS content higher than 5 wt%, the heterogeneous dispersion of G-POSS was determined from the tensile strength measurements. The significant decrease in tensile strength was possible due to the agglomeration of G-POSS. On the other hand, thermal properties of hybrid networks were compared together by thermogravimetric analyses, where all samples exhibited one-step degradation in the range of 220–500 °C. The thermal decomposition of hybrid network led to complete degradation of the organic part and favored the formation of stable carbonaceous and inorganic residues as char. Thus, the char yields of hybrid networks were increased to 6.2, 7.8, 10.1, 12.7, and 15.1% by G-POSS loadings from 0 to 15 wt%. This improvement was also a proof of the incorporation of G-POSS into the hybrid networks that resulted in high heat-resistant POSS-based hybrid networks compared to a sample without G-POSS. 相似文献

Newly proposed polymer electrolyte membranes (PEMs) composed of an electrospun poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) fibrous mat embedded in a poly(4‐vinylpyridine) (P4VP) matrix were successfully fabricated in order to improve the mechanical and dimensional stabilities and ionic conductivity of membranes in lithium rechargeable batteries. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopic analysis showed that as a result of the use of a high voltage during electrospinning the crystalline structure of PVDF changed partially from α‐phase to β‐phase. Energy‐dispersive X‐ray spectroscopy confirmed the existence of crosslinked P4VP in the PVDF fibrous mat. The electrolyte uptakes of PVDF and PVDF/P4VP composite mats were higher than that of PVDF cast film. The tensile properties of PVDF/P4VP composite mat were considerably improved compared to those of the pristine PVDF fibrous mat under both dry and wet (soaked with electrolyte) conditions. In addition, the mechanical and dimensional stabilities of the PVDF/P4VP composite PEM were further enhanced due to crosslinking between the P4VP chains. Furthermore, the PVDF/P4VP composite PEM exhibited an ionic conductivity that was an order of magnitude higher than that of traditional PVDF film. © 2012 Society of Chemical Industry 相似文献

Empty fruit bunches of oil palm fibers can be used as environmentally friendly alternatives to conventional reinforcing fibers, like glass, carbon, etc. In order to improve the interfacial properties, this fiber was subjected to grafting with bulk monomer allyl methacrylate (AMA) and cured under UV radiation. It was found that UV curing enhanced the physicomechanical properties to a large extent compared to the untreated virgin fiber. Among different AMA concentration, the fibers treated with 10% monomer showed the best mechanical properties after 15 passes of UV radiation. Different additives such as urea, acrylamide, and NVP were added with the 10% AMA solution, and the effect of additives was studied. It was found that fibers treated with 2% urea showed even better PL and tensile properties than those treated only with AMA. the treated and untreated fiber samples were also subjected to various weather conditions such as simulating weather, soil, and water aging to determine the degradable properties. It was observed that the minimum loss in each case was shown by the sample treated with the formulations that contain urea as additives with AMA and that fiber aged in soil showed higher loss of weight and tensile properties than that aged in water. 相似文献

This experimental study investigates the low-speed impact behavior of adhesively bonded similar (Al–Al, St–St) and dissimilar (Al–St, St–Al) plates. The after-impact geometries of the front and back faces of the bonded plates, which were visualized by measuring the displacements, were in good agreement with the simulated surface geometries obtained by using explicit finite element method. The plate stiffness was affective on the deflections of the bonded plates; thus, the bonded Al–Al plates exhibited maximum deflections, contact durations, and minimal contact force levels, whereas the bonded St–St plates had minimum deflections, contact durations, and maximum contact force levels. As the impact energy is increased, the impact forces, durations, and deflections increased naturally; however, the impact force-time histories were not affected evidently. The bonded Al–Al plates can dissipate the impact energy more effectively than the bonded St–St plates. The experimental and simulated contact force-time histories were generally in good agreement. Based on the cross-section photographs of the damaged impact regions the bonded Al–Al plates with low stiffness can deform plastically and dissipate most of the impact energy, and the adhesive layer remains compatible with the deformation of the plates. The interfacial fractures appear along the back plate–adhesive interface for the low impact energy but along both front and back plate–adhesive interfaces and cracks propagated to the back interface to lower interface through the adhesive thickness near the boundaries of the impactor trace. The bonded St–St plates behave more rigid, transmit the impact energy directly to the adhesive layer and the high impact force distributions result severe fractures not only interfacially but also through the adhesive thickness. The color transformations, which are indications of fracture formation and propagation speed in some way, were observed around the adhesive fractures. Although the bonded St–Al and Al–St plates had a fracture mechanism similar to those of the bonded Al–Al plates but the color transformation near the fractures and the crack opening displacement levels were more evident. The existence of a stiffer plate affects considerably the damage formation in the adhesive layer and in the plates, whereas the less stiff plates can dissipate the impact energy by deforming plastically and the adhesive layer experiences less local damages. 相似文献

Microstructural characterization of corn starch‐based porous thermoplastic (TPS) composites containing various contents (0.1, 0.5, and 1 wt %) of multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) was performed. Corn starch was plasticized with a proper combination of glycerol and stearic acid. TPS composites with MWCNT were prepared conducting melt extrusion followed by injection molding. TPS containing 1 wt % of MWCNTs exhibited higher tensile strength and elastic modulus values than neat TPS. Moreover, TPS electrical conductivity was determined to increase with increasing content of MWCNTs. X‐ray diffraction measurements revealed that incorporation of MWCNTs increased the degree of TPS crsystallinity to some extent. Scanning electron microscopy examination revealed that MWCNT altered TPS surface morphology and tensile failure modes, significantly. Transmission electron microscopy investigation showed that dispersion characteristics of MWCNTs within TPS were in the form of tiny clusters around micro pores of TPS, which is considered influential on electrical conductivity of the resulting composites. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The main goal of the present study was (i) to determine the formation of degradation products in cottonseed oil (CSO) blends during deep frying process by adsorption and high performance size exclusion chromatography techniques and (ii) to evaluate the impacts of food additives on total polar (TPC) and polymeric compound (PTAG) formation using a chemometric approach. In order to prepare the frying CSO blends; ascorbic palmitate, mixed tocopherols, dimethylpolysiloxane, lecithin and sesame oils were used as additives. To determine the real impacts of additives, a quarter-fraction factorial experimental design with two levels and five factors was used. The changes in TPC and PTAG data were carefully evaluated during 10 h of frying at 170 ± 5 °C with normal distribution (ND) graphs and analyzed using a one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), followed by Tukey’s Post-hoc test (α = 0.05). The results indicated that the increasing values for TPC and PTAG during the frying processes for all blends, TPC and PTAG contents reached maximum levels of 16.37 and 6.01 % respectively, which are below the limit values stated by official authorities for the quality assessment of frying oils. The ANOVA test results were in good agreement with ND graphs and data indicated that the impact of mixed tocopherols was significant for TPC formation, meanwhile the impact of lecithin and ascorbic palmitate × dimethylpolysiloxane were significant for PTAG formation. Thus, the present study should be considered to be a very useful guide for developing new frying oil formulations based on CSO by using food additives. 相似文献

The reverse osmosis (RO) brine generated from the Al-Quds University wastewater treatment plant was treated using an epuvalisation system. The advanced integrated wastewater treatment plant included an activated sludge unit, two consecutive ultrafiltration (UF) membrane filters (20 kD and 100 kD cutoffs) followed by an activated carbon filter and a reverse osmosis membrane. The epuvalisation system consisted of salt tolerant plants grown in hydroponic channels under continuous water flowing in a closed loop system, and placed in a greenhouse at Al-Quds University. Sweet basil (Ocimum basilicum) plants were selected, and underwent two consecutive hydroponic flowing stages using different brine-concentrations: an adaptation stage, in which a 1:1 mixture of brine and fresh water was used; followed by a functioning stage, with 100% brine. A control treatment using fresh water was included as well. The experiment started in April and ended in June (2012). At the end of the experiment, analysis of the effluent brine showed a remarkable decrease of electroconductivity (EC), PO43−, chemical oxygen demand (COD) and K+ with a reduction of 60%, 74%, 70%, and 60%, respectively, as compared to the influent. The effluent of the control treatment showed 50%, 63%, 46%, and 90% reduction for the same parameters as compared to the influent. Plant growth parameters (plant height, fresh and dry weight) showed no significant difference between fresh water and brine treatments. Obtained results suggest that the epuvalisation system is a promising technique for inland brine treatment with added benefits. The increasing of channel number or closed loop time is estimated for enhancing the treatment process and increasing the nutrient uptake. Nevertheless, the epuvalisation technique is considered to be simple, efficient and low cost for inland RO brine treatment. 相似文献
