This paper deals with the cost-benefit analysis of a one-server two-identical-unit cold standby system with repair and preventive maintenance (PM). The PM is of the type where the operating unit is taken up for PM whenever the other unit is available for operation. Initially, one unit is placed in operation and the other unit is kept as a cold standby. When the operating unit fails while the other unit is under service (repair or PM), the system breaks down. The busy period of the server in a time interval (O, t] is divided into time spent for repair and time spent for PM. By identifying regenerative epochs, suitable expressions for the expected values of these times are obtained. The pointwise availability is also derived. With the assumptions that a revenue is earned linearly with up-time, and repair and PM costs are incurred linearly with repair and PM times, respectively, the net expected revenue for a period (O, t] is derived. A particular case where the time to failure of the operating unit is 2-Erlang and the times for repair and PM are exponential has been analysed.  相似文献

Mechanochemical processing of elemental mixtures with the compositions Ni75Al25, Ni70Al25Cr5, and Ni75Al20Cr5 (5 at % Cr in the mixtures instead of the equivalent amount of Ni or Al) leads to the formation of nanocrystalline nickel-based solid solutions (crystallite size in the range ? 7?C12 nm). Comparison of experimentally determined lattice parameters of the solid solutions with Vegard??s law values and with the lattice parameters evaluated using the Bozzolo-Ferrante rule, which takes into account the bulk moduli of constituent elements, suggests that the atoms in the solid solutions are bonded more strongly. Heating the synthesized ternary solid solutions in a calorimeter to 1000°C leads to the formation of an ordered ?á?-phase (L12). Analysis of the relative intensity ratio of superlattice and fundamental reflections indicates that the Cr atoms always reside in the Al sublattice, independent of the composition of the starting mixture. When 5 at % Cr is incorporated instead of Ni, the chromium atoms force out aluminum from the Al sublattice, and the Ni deficiency in the Ni sublattice is compensated by the Al atoms. The ordered phases remain nanocrystalline (crystallite size in the range ? 40?C70 nm).  相似文献

Nowadays, several research groups are extensively trying to develop by synthesizing and characterizing single/co-doped single-phase bismuth ferrite (BFO) in order to get a highly efficient eco-friendly multifunctional devices. In this process, this report is an attempt to provide the detailed studies of structural, dielectric, impedance and ferroelectric properties of Bi(Fe0.85Dy0.15)O3 ceramic fabricated via the solid-state reaction method. Analysis of X-ray diffraction (XRD) data confirms a single phase of orthorhombic symmetry. The average crystallite (particle) size is found to be in the order of?~?41 nm. The field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) spectrum shows a homogeneous grain distribution of the sample. The elemental composition examined by means of energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDXS) shows the existence of constituent elements of the sample. The electrical measurements and analysis, carried out using a computer-controlled phase sensitive multimeter (PSM) in a frequency range of 1 kHz–1 MHz at different sets of temperature (25–325 °C), provide many interesting features to explain further conduction mechanism. The dielectric analysis exhibits high value of dielectric constant (?r) and small value of dielectric loss (tanδ). Due to the effect of electronic and space charge polarization, the ?r value falls with an increasing frequency. The frequency–temperature dependence of impedance and electrical modulus analysis reveals the presence of semiconductor nature and non-Debye type of relaxation process in the sample. The analysis of ac-conductivity (σac) with respect to frequency and temperature obeys the universal Jonscher’s power law. The electric polarization study shows an enhancement in ferroelectric property of the material. Hence, based on the significant enhancement in electrical and ferroelectric properties of the Bi(Fe0.85Dy0.15)O3 material, the material may be considered for some applications.
