External magnetic fields affect various electrochemical processes and can be used to enhance the efficiency of the electrochemical water splitting reaction. However, the driving forces behind this effect are poorly understood due to the analytical challenges of the available interface-sensitive techniques. Here, we present a set-up based on magneto- and electro-optical probing, which allows to juxtapose the magnetic properties of the electrode with the electrochemical current densities in situ at various applied potentials and magnetic fields. On the example of an archetypal hydrogen evolution catalyst, Pt (in a form of Co/Pt superlattice), we provide evidence that a magnetic field acts on the electrochemical double layer affecting the local concentration gradient of hydroxide ions, which simultaneously affects the magneto-optical and magnetocurrent response. 相似文献

This paper presents a technique for rapid identification of machine tool drives by conducting a short G-code test. The proposed strategy uses commanded and measured axis profiles and requires minimal intervention to the servo control loop. The drive system is identified as a whole, including the feed mechanism, motor, amplifier, and the control law. The methodology is fairly general and applicable to linear or ball screw drives, controlled with commonly used controllers like P, PI, PID, P–PI Cascade or Adaptive Sliding Mode Control; with or without feedforward dynamic or friction compensation. In order to guarantee the stability of identified dynamics, bounds are imposed on the pole locations. The identified models can be used in a Virtual CNC system for predicting the contouring and tracking errors to different part programs. Simulation and experimental case studies are presented, where tracking and contour errors are successfully predicted using drive models identified with the proposed strategy. 相似文献

Statistical analysis of baseball has long been popular, albeit only in limited capacity until relatively recently. In particular, analysts can now apply machine learning algorithms to large baseball data sets to derive meaningful insights into player and team performance. In the interest of stimulating new research and serving as a go-to resource for academic and industrial analysts, we perform a systematic literature review of machine learning applications in baseball analytics. The approaches employed in literature fall mainly under three problem class umbrellas: Regression, Binary Classification, and Multiclass Classification. We categorize these approaches, provide our insights on possible future applications, and conclude with a summary of our findings. We find two algorithms dominate the literature: (1) Support Vector Machines for classification problems and (2) k-nearest neighbors for both classification and Regression problems. We postulate that recent proliferation of neural networks in general machine learning research will soon carry over into baseball analytics. 相似文献

The aim of this study is preparation and characterization of alginate/chitosan sponges including a model antibiotic (i.e., ciprofloxacin) to use in wound and/or burn treatment. Sponges were prepared firstly by the gelation of sodium alginate followed by lyophilization, crosslinking with calcium chloride, and finally coating with chitosan. Sponges were characterized with respect to morphology, water uptake, in vitro drug release behavior, and antimicrobial activity. Investigated and evaluated parameters in all of these studies were selected as the concentration of calcium chloride, alginate viscosity, drug content, and molecular weight of chitosan. Drug release and water uptake were found to be greatly influenced by these parameters. Water uptake and drug release rate were decreased by increasing the crosslinking density, chitosan molecular weight, and alginate viscosity. In the antimicrobial tests, it was obtained that the antimicrobial activity is directly proportional with the release rates and water uptake. An optical light source based on a solid-state lighting technology is designed. Main components of the light source are a phosphor-converted white and a near-ultraviolet (near-UV) light emitting diodes (LEDs), the spectral power distributions (SPDs) of which are mixed using a fiber optic combiner. The near-UV LED is used for improving insufficient SPDs of the white LED at shorter wavelengths of the visible radiation. Stable direct current power supplies are also designed and used to operate each of the LED separately. Three steps of the driving current can be selected by means of serial resistors altered with a commutator at nominal current values of ~40%, ~50%, and ~69%. The light source can be used for many characteristic measurements within the scope of photometry and colorimetry. 相似文献

Undoped and Dy3+‐doped barium tantalate phosphors were synthesized by the solid‐state reaction method at 1425°C. Also, 10 mol% Dy3+‐doped BaTa2O6 was sintered between 1150 and 1425°C in order to determine temperature effect on structural and luminescence properties. Afterwards, they were characterized by XRD, SEM‐EDS and photoluminescence (PL) analyses. PL spectra exhibited the excitation peaks between 300 and 440 nm. Two typical emissions were observed at 486.2 nm (blue) and 577.7 nm (yellow) due to the 4F9/2→6H15/2 and 4F9/2→6H13/2 transitions, respectively. Emission intensities increased with increasing doping concentration of Dy3+ up to 10 mol% and then decreased due to the concentration quenching effect. Moreover, depending on the increase in heat treatment temperature, the intensity of emission reached maximum at 1425°C. The calculated CIE chromaticity coordinates of phosphors located in the white light region. 相似文献

A sampling program has been undertaken to investigate the variations of disinfection by-products (DBPs) formation and nature and fate of natural organic matter (NOM) through water treatment plants in Istanbul. Specific focus has been given to the effect seasonal changes on the formation of DBPs and organic precursors levels. Water samples were collected from the three reservoirs inlet and within three major water treatment plants of Istanbul, Turkey. Changes in the dissolved organic carbon (DOC), ultraviolet absorbance at 254 nm (UV(254)), specific ultraviolet absorbance (SUVA), trihalomethane formation potential (THMFP), and haloacetic acids formation potential (HAAFP) were measured for both the treated and raw water samples. The variations of THM and HAA concentrations within treatment processes were monitored and also successfully assessed. The reactivity of the organic matter changed throughout the year with the lowest reactivity (THMFP and HAAFP) in winter, increasing in spring and reaching a maximum in fall season. This corresponded to the water being easier to treat in fall and an increase in the proportion of hydrophobic content. Understanding the seasonal changes in organic matter character and their reactivity with treatment chemicals should lead to a better optimization of the treatment processes and a more consistent water quality. 相似文献
