Oleogels can be used to provide solid-like properties without using high levels of saturated fatty acids. In this study, the edible oleogels structure developed based on egg white protein (EWP) (5%) and xanthan gum (XG) (0%, 1%, 0.5%, and 0.75% wt/wt) complex by using aerogels system as a template for oleogel preparation. The effect of pH on the EWP-XG mixture indicated the creation of a soluble complex of EWP-XG in pH 5.5. The Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy confirmed the interaction between EWP and XG. The amount of absorbed oil was considerably higher in EWP-XG aerogels. SEM showed a soft surface in EWP 5% aerogel, which can be the reason for its less oil absorption. The aerogel and oleogel including more XG concentration had a stronger network structure and created more elastic oleogels. The light microscopy images revealed by increasing of XG concentration, the structure of protein gel mesh became more compact and regular. The XRD patterns of the aerogels did not show any clear differences between crystallinity of the samples. Therefore, it can be concluded that the aerogels based on the structuring of EWP-XG complexes have a high potential as a three-dimensional network for the oil absorption and creating oleogel. 相似文献

The metamaterial elements and structures have been noticed for obtaining circular polarization (CP) while developing various procedures. In this paper, we have mentioned some of these cases and compared the metamaterial loads effect on antenna current distribution. We have classified them into four categories. The first case covers patch antenna based on composite right/left‐handed method, where the metamaterial has been used for changing the current distribution in the loop form. The second case has been achieved by radome and metasurface. In the third model, the interaction between feed and metamaterial load has been considered and the last case has been made by the metamaterial load with truncated structure. The metamaterial loading has been modeled based on Nicolson‐Ross or transmission/reflection techniques for extracting the permittivity and permeability. While the microstrip slot antennas are attractive for wider bandwidth, the truncated structure can change the current for achieving CP. Supply chain requirements and challenges in recent years have made managers to explore new methods in dealing with supply chain management (SCM) problems. Electrospun materials have a number of applications in the tissue engineering field. However, the limited solubility of chitosan (CS), especially in organic solvents, makes its electrospinning with other synthetic organosoluble polymers impossible. In this article, we report the synthesis of a novel organosoluble derivative of CS through the application of a simple synthetic methodology. CS was reacted with 1,3‐diethyl‐2‐thiobarbituric acid (DETBA) with triethylorthoformate in the presence of methanol and acetic acid (4:1). The functional groups in the synthesized materials were confirmed by Fourier transform infrared and solid‐state NMR spectroscopy, whereas X‐ray diffraction revealed the level of crystallinity. The CS derivative (CS–DETBA) was tested for its cytotoxic effects on human gastric adenocarcinoma AGS cells and was found to be nontoxic. The prepared derivative showed a much enhanced inhibitory effect on the growth of three bacterial strains, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Staphylococcus aureus, over that of CS itself. Overall, CS–DETBA showed good solubility in a range of organic solvents, such as dimethyl sulfoxide and N,N‐dimethylformamide, and was blended with polycaprolactone (PCL) to form films and electrospun nanofibers. The morphologies of the synthesized materials were analyzed by field emission scanning electron microscopy, and the fiber diameter was 360 nm under optimum conditions. This study demonstrated that the CS–DETBA–PCL blend could be a potential material for tissue engineering and biomedical applications. © 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Appl. Polym.
