The effect of 1-cyclohexylthio-2-mercaptobenzimidazole (CMB) on the vulcanization of NR accelerated by N-oxydiethylene thiocarbamyl-N′-oxydiethylene sulfenamide (OTOS) has been studied. It is found that CMB delays the onset of cure and generates 2-mercaptobenzimidazole during vulcanization. The results indicate the retarding as well as antioxidant activity of CMB. 相似文献

Saltwater or brackish water is used as a coolant in most industries. Therefore, understanding the heat transfer processes and hydrodynamics during the natural convection in saline water is crucial for enhancing the efficiency of a heat exchanger. This study elaborates on the natural convection heat transfer in saline water under atmospheric conditions. A DC power supply is used to regulate the power given to the heater in a liquid pool for thermal analysis. The pool liquid comprises solutions with varying salinity from 0%, 0.2%, 0.5%, and 2%. The effect of varying salinity on the heat transfer coefficient and the thermal aspects encountered during the desalination process is analyzed. The temperature distribution across the surface of the heater is monitored using an infrared camera. It is studied for the solution of different salinities. The heat transfer coefficient and Nusselt number are investigated during natural convection for normal water and salt solution of different concentrations. It is inferred from the study that in the regime of natural convection, there is no significant difference in the Nusselt number for normal water and saltwater for the lower value of temperature difference between the plate and pool. The heat transfer coefficient in 0.2% saline water is higher as compared to the other solutions. 相似文献

On the other hand, OTIS (Optical Transpose Interconnection System) provides an efficient optoelectronic model for massively
parallel processing system. In this paper, we present OTIS-MOT as a competent candidate for a two-tier architecture that can
take the advantages of both the OTIS and the MOT. We show that an n4-n^{4}_{-} processor OTIS-MOT has diameter 8log n

We show that many communication as well as application algorithms can run on this network in comparable time or even faster
than other similar tree-based two-tier architectures. The communication algorithms including row/column-group broadcast and
one-to-all broadcast are shown to require O(log n) time, multicast in O(n
2log n) time and the bit-reverse permutation in O(n) time. Many parallel algorithms for various problems such as finding polynomial zeros, sales forecasting, matrix-vector multiplication

Shannon’s entropy plays an important role in the context of information theory. Since this entropy is not applicable to a system which has survived for some units of time, the concept of residual entropy has been developed in the literature. Here we generalize the residual entropy by choosing a convex function ? with ?(1) = 0. In this paper, some orderings and aging properties have been defined in terms of the generalized residual entropy function and their properties have been studied. One of the crucial regulators of embryonic patterning and tissue development is the Hedgehog‐glioma (Hh‐Gli) signalling pathway; its uncontrolled activation has been implicated in different types of cancer in adult tissues. Primary cilium is one of the important factors required for the activation of Hh signalling, as it brings the critical components together for key protein–protein interactions required for Hh pathway regulation. Most of the synthetic and natural small molecule modulators of the pathway primarily antagonise Smoothened (Smo) or other effectors like Hh ligand or Gli. Here, we report a previously described Hh antagonist, with a pyrimidine–indole hybrid (PIH) core structure, as an inhibitor of ciliogenesis. The compound is unique in its mode of action, as it shows perturbation of microtubule dynamics in both cell‐based assays and in vivo systems (zebrafish embryos). Further studies revealed that the probable targets are α‐tubulin and its acetylated form, found in the cytoplasm and primary cilia. PIH also showed axonal defasiculation in developing zebrafish embryos. We thus propose that PIH antagonises Hh signalling by repressing cilia biogenesis and disassembling α‐tubulin from its stabilised form. 相似文献

Nanometer-scale roughness was generated on the surface of titanium (Ti) metal by NaOH treatment and remained after subsequent
acid treatment with HCl, HNO3 or H2SO4 solution, as long as the acid concentration was not high. It also remained after heat treatment. Sodium hydrogen titanate
produced by NaOH treatment was transformed into hydrogen titanate after subsequent acid treatment as long as the acid concentration
was not high. The hydrogen titanate was then transformed into titanium oxide (TiO2) of anatase and rutile by heat treatment. Treated Ti metals exhibited high apatite-forming abilities in a simulated body
fluid especially when the acid concentration was greater than 10 mM, irrespective of the type of acid solutions used. This
high apatite-forming ability was maintained in humid environments for long periods. The high apatite-forming ability was attributed
to the positive surface charge that formed on the TiO2 layer and not to the surface roughness or a specific crystalline phase. This positively charged TiO2 induced apatite formation by first selectively adsorbing negatively charged phosphate ions followed by positively charged
calcium ions. Apatite formation is expected on the surfaces of such treated Ti metals after short periods, even in living

New two- and three-dimensional boundary element formulations are developed for elastoplastic stress analysis. We report large amplitude modulation waveforms as large as ~ 10 V using vanadium dioxide micro-channel devices operating under current-controlled conditions. The self-sustained electrical oscillations were generated by controlling the applied current in the negative differential resistance region of the investigated devices. An appropriate value of internal capacitance was achieved as parasitic capacitance in the device structure to stabilize the electrical oscillations. This eliminates the need of an external pulsed source or any external passive component connected to the micro-channel devices. Amplitude and frequency of the oscillation were tuned by illuminating the device micro-channel with an external laser. An equivalent circuit model was developed to simulate the waveforms. A good agreement between experiment and simulation was verified. 相似文献
