Effect of oral administration of fenvalerate, a pyrethroid insecticide was studied in different behavioral paradigms in mice. Fenvalerate at 15, 30 and 45 mg/kg dose increased start latency, decreased ambulation and rearing in open-field, increased immobility in tail-suspension test and attenuated haloperidol-induced catalepsy in a dose-dependent manner. The time-course of data shows that these effects of fenvalerate may sustain up to several hours of its oral administration. The study indicates that pyrethroids can cause adverse behavioral effects even after a very low-level exposure. Although, it is difficult to extrapolate these findings directly to behavioral changes in man, they indicate that subtle behavioral dysfunction also occur in humans at exposures which do not cause acute toxicity.  相似文献

The combination of the techniques of expert systems and neural networks has the potential of producing more powerful systems, for example, expert systems able to learn from experience. In this paper, we address the combinatorial neural model (CNM), a kind of fuzzy neural network able to accommodate in a simple framework the highly desirable property of incremental learning, as well as the usual capabilities of expert systems. We show how an interval-based representation for membership grades makes CNM capable of reasoning with several types of uncertainty: vagueness, ignorance, and relevance commonly found in practical applications. In addition, we show how basic functions of expert systems such as inference, inquiry, censorship of input information, and explanation may be implemented. We also report experimental results of the application of CNM to the problem of deforestation monitoring of the Amazon region using satellite images  相似文献

In this paper, we re-examine the results of prior work on methods for computing ad hoc joins. We develop a detailed cost model for predicting join algorithm performance, and we use the model to develop cost formulas for the major ad hoc join methods found in the relational database literature. We show that various pieces of “common wisdom” about join algorithm performance fail to hold up when analyzed carefully, and we use our detailed cost model to derive op timal buffer allocation schemes for each of the join methods examined here. We show that optimizing their buffer allocations can lead to large performance improvements, e.g., as much as a 400% improvement in some cases. We also validate our cost model's predictions by measuring an actual implementation of each join algorithm considered. A simple technique for modeling transients in erbium-doped fiber amplifiers (EDFAs) has been applied to a gain-clamped amplifier. Integration of the variables along the length of the amplifier allows the formulation of the problem as a single simple, ordinary, time-dependent differential equation. The cytosolic chaperonin containing TCP-1 (CCT) is known to keep fold cytoskeletal proteins and is involved in the proper organization of the cytoskeleton. These studies are based on the assumption that growth responses linked to structural rearrangement of the plant cytoskeleton include the action of CCT and the need for newly synthesized tubulin. The presence of the alpha- and epsilon-subunits of CCT was investigated in soluble fractions of protein extracts from maize mesocotyls and coleoptiles at distinct growth stages. The CCT-subunits, tubulins and actin decreased in the coleoptile in response to far-red light. In addition, independent from light treatment, the amount of CCT epsilon abundance declined with age in coleoptiles and mesocotyls between 2 and 4.5 days after sowing. In contrast to CCT epsilon, no significant light regulation of CCT alpha was found in the mesocotyl. In two day old, light-grown rapidly elongating coleoptiles part of the CCT alpha subunit and the bulk of actin and tubulin was found shifted into fractions of high molecular weight complexes when compared to slowly elongating, dark grown coleoptiles. In 4.5 day old, etiolated and elongating coleoptiles, part of both CCT-subunits and cytoskeleton proteins were found in fractions of high molecular weight. A complete disappearance of these polypeptides was observed in old far-red irradiated growth-arrested coleoptiles. CCT epsilon was found to be colocalized to microtubular structures and to the nucleus. We conclude from our data that abundance of CCT-subunits in soluble extracts is dependent on age and light treatment, but independent from the growth stage of mesocotyl and coleoptile.  相似文献

We are continually expanding our knowledge of JCA and establishing our understanding on an ever-increasing knowledge base encompassing immunology, immunogenetics, physiology, psychology and sociology. The causes and treatment of this condition are multifactoral and no one discipline can hope to embrace all of them. Nurses, particularly those with rheumatological and/or paediatric expertise, are uniquely placed to provide the link between patient, the family and health care team and thus to coordinate treatment and ensure that care meets the needs of youngsters with JCA and their families.  相似文献

For a mobile robot to be practical, it needs to navigate in dynamically changing environments and manipulate objects in the environment with operating ease. The main challenges to satisfying these requirements in mobile robot research include the collection of robot environment information, storage and organization of this information, and fast task planning based on available information. Conventional approaches to these problems are far from satisfactory due to their requirement of high computation time. In this paper, we specifically address the problems of storage and organization of the environment information and fast task planning in the area of robotic research. We propose an special object-oriented data model (OODM) for information storage and management in order to solve the first problem. This model explicitly represents domain knowledge and abstracts a global perspective about the robot's dynamically changing environment. To solve the second problem, we introduce a fast task planning algorithm that fully uses domain knowledge related to robot applications and to the given environment. Our OODM based task planning method presents a general frame work and representation, into which domain specific information, domain decomposition methods and specific path planners can be tailored for different task planning problems. This method unifies and integrates the salient features from various areas such as database, artificial intelligence, and robot path planning, thus increasing the planning speed significantly  相似文献
