The temperature–composition phase diagram in the diluted region of the cationic surfactant cetyldimethylbenzylammonium salicylate/water
system was studied with a battery of techniques. The Krafft temperature (T
k = 33 ± 1 °C) was measured by differential scanning calorimetry, polarizing microscopy, conductimetry, viscosimetry, and rheometry.
The critical vesicle concentration (cvc, ~0.002 wt%) and a vesicle–micellar transition (cvm, ~0.005 wt%) was detected at a
temperature of 35 °C. Below T
k and concentrations ≤2 wt%, a transparent solution is formed (I). Above 2–8.5 wt%, a lamellar (L1) phase forms. At higher concentrations and up to 12 wt%, a second lamellar phase (L2) is detected. From 12.4 to 15.5 wt%, an emulsion phase (E) is formed. Rheological dynamic measurements for the I phase indicate
that the system exhibits a predominantly viscous behavior (G′ < G″) for concentrations lower than the overlap or entanglement concentration (C
e, ~0.75 wt%). At higher concentrations, wormlike micelles form and the elastic behavior predominates (G′ > G″). The elastic (G′) modulus collapses in a concentration–time master curve in the whole reduced frequencies range ωτ
c examined, whereas the viscous modulus (G″) collapses only at reduced frequencies lower than 0.1. Reduced stress plotted as a function of the reduced shear rate yields

This study evaluates the quality of sausage obtained from the meat of Nellore cattle fed diets containing different levels (0, 5, 10, and 15 g per kg total DM) of lauric acid (C12:0) from palm kernel cake. A linear reduction (p ≤ 0.05) in lipid oxidation, as reflected by linear decreases in the lightness (L*), yellowness (b*), and saturation (C*) color parameters, is observed on days 7, 14, and 21 of maturation of sausage, and these decreases are accompanied by linear increases in the redness (a*) color and the linoleic (C18:2n–6) and linolenic (C18:3n–3) fatty acid contents. The inclusion of lauric acid in the diet induces linear reductions in the shear force and cooking loss and does not significantly affect various indices, including the centesimal composition, water activity, water holding capacity, composition of most fatty acids (FA), hypocholesterolemic‐to‐hypercholesterolemic FA ratio, atherogenicity, thrombogenicity, and desirable fatty acids. The use of dietary lauric acid from palm kernel cake is recommended at doses up to 15 g per kg because its presence reduces lipid oxidation and improves color parameters, softness, and linoleic and linolenic FA without affecting the FA composition of sausage from Nellore bull's meat. Practical applications : Sausages are products manufactured from chopped or ground meats packaged into animal casings. This product appeared in Brazil through the adaptation of traditional recipes brought by German and Italian immigrant families to weather conditions and the national palate. However, due to its production characteristics, sausage can become a product with lipid characteristics that are undesirable for human consumption. The inclusion of lauric acid (C12:0) in the animal diet might change the biohydrogenation process in the rumen, improve the quality of the deposited FA and reduce lipid oxidation in sausage manufactured from meat. The FA composition and physicochemical properties of sausage predict its acceptance by the consumer market. An optimal advantage would be achieved if these products can be used as not only preservatives but also functional ingredients with antioxidant properties and products for the treatment of metabolic syndrome and cardiovascular diseases through atherogenic action. 相似文献

Nowadays, we are living in a time of important technological changes that affect our lives at home and our communication with the outside world. Among them, the developments in Interactive Digital TV (IDTV) and the smart home field can be considered as particularly important. Related to the former, the new Set‐Top Boxes (STBs) are not only a decoder for digital television broadcast but also an entry point to the Information Society and a suitable platform to support the execution of interactive applications. With regards to the latter, the Residential Gateways (RGs) combine different network technologies to allow the connection of different electronics devices and appliances at home, not only with each other but also with the Internet. Since there is no widespread consensus about the configurations and functions of the RGs, we propose to coordinate the two aforementioned worlds by extending the functionality of STBs to become a RG. Our proposal consists of merging the Multimedia Home Platform (MHP), one of the main standard frameworks for IDTV, with Open Service Gateway Initiative (OSGi), the most widely used open platform to set up RGs. To overcome the radically different nature of these specifications—the function‐oriented MHP middleware and the service‐oriented OSGi framework—we define a new kind of application, coined as XbundLET. This application is able to bridge the gap between the two frameworks and make their interaction feasible. We also show how this proposal has the potential to enable the production of scenarios that cannot currently be put into practice in a natural way. Copyright © 2006 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. 相似文献

ZnO + Zn2TiO4 thin films were obtained by the sol–gel method using precursor solutions with different Ti/Zn ratios in the 0.18–2.13 range.
The films were deposited on glass substrates and annealed in an open atmosphere at 550 °C. The oxide was characterized by
X-ray diffraction and photoacoustic (PA) spectroscopy. The films were constituted of polycrystalline ZnO for the lowest Ti/Zn
ratio (0.18), polycrystalline Zn2TiO4 for the 0.70 and 1.0 ratios, and mixes of both oxides for the intermediate ratios (0.32 and 0.50). For the highest ratios
studied (1.44 and 2.13), the films were amorphous. The energy band gap (Eg) values were determined from optical absorption spectra, measured by means of the PA technique spectra. Eg varied in the 3.15 eV (ZnO) to 3.70 eV (Zn2TiO4) range. 相似文献

In this work, the influence of the “ageing” temperature on the location and regeneration behaviour of the coke obtained in the cracking of LDPE in the presence of HZSM-5 and USY zeolites is studied. The coke content in the zeolites is influenced by the thermal treatment, and for both zeolites studied, the higher the final cracking temperature the lower the coke content. The nitrogen adsorption isotherms have shown the different deactivation mechanisms, related to the possible different locations of the coke on each zeolite and the influence of the final cracking temperature on these parameters. The regeneration study of the coked zeolites has shown that the coke combustion process strongly depends on the insoluble content of the coke (i.e., of the presence of bulky polyaromatic compounds) and of the zeolite framework. 相似文献

Multi‐junction solar cells are widely used in high‐concentration photovoltaic systems (HCPV) attaining the highest efficiencies in photovoltaic energy generation. This technology is more dependent on the spectral variations of the impinging Direct Normal Irradiance (DNI) than conventional photovoltaics based on silicon solar cells and consequently demands a deeper knowledge of the solar resource characteristics. This article explores the capabilities of spectral indexes, namely, spectral matching ratios (SMR), to spectrally characterize the annual irradiation reaching a particular location on the Earth and to provide the necessary information for the spectral optimization of a MJ solar cell in that location as a starting point for CPV module spectral tuning. Additionally, the relationship between such indexes and the atmosphere parameters, such as the aerosol optical depth (AOD), precipitable water (PW), and air mass (AM), is discussed using radiative transfer models such as SMARTS to generate the spectrally resolved DNI. The network of ground‐based sun and sky‐scanning radiometers AErosol RObotic NETwork (AERONET) is exploited to obtain the atmosphere parameters for a selected bunch of 34 sites worldwide. Finally, the SMR indexes are obtained for every location, and a comparative analysis is carried out for four architectures of triple junction solar cells, covering both lattice match and metamorphic technologies. To increase the potential and better exploring of grape seeds that are an important wine-industrial waste, oils of ten traditional Portuguese grape varieties were evaluated in relation to their vitamin E content (tocopherols and tocotrienols), fatty acid profile, as well as, antioxidant properties. Our results showed that the grape-seed oils were a good source of γ-tocotrienol (499–1575 mg/kg), α-tocopherol (85.5–244 mg/kg) and α-tocotrienol (69–319 mg/kg). Concerning fatty acid profile, linoleic (C18:2cc), oleic (C18:1), palmitic (C16:0) and stearic (C18:0) acids were the predominant. Grape-seed oils demonstrated to be a good source of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) (63.64–73.53%), whereas monounsaturated fatty acid (MUFA) and saturated fatty acid (SFA) ranged between 14.19–21.29% and 11.64–14.94%, respectively. Interesting values of DPPH and ABTS radical scavenging activities were also obtained. This study demonstrated that these seeds may be reused and their oils incorporated in other food products, taking into account the compounds with positive effects on human health that are present in their composition. 相似文献
