OBJECTIVE: Our objective was to compare intravascular sonography with digital subtraction angiography (DSA) in the assessment of luminal dimension and morphologic features of endovascular stents and stent grafts. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Thirty-seven pelvic and 24 femoral stents (12 Wall-stents; 27 covered and 22 uncovered nitinol stents) in 50 patients were evaluated 15 +/- 10 months after implantation by DSA and intravascular sonography. The degree of maximum instent restenosis as revealed by DSA and intravascular sonography was compared for each location. Morphologic features of the stents and stenoses were also assessed. RESULTS: Intravascular sonography and DSA correlated well (R2 = .96) in determining in-stent restenosis. In-stent restenosis was underestimated by 13% +/- 6% by DSA compared with intravascular sonography. Differences in determining in-stent restenosis with intravascular sonography and DSA were not associated with severity of stenosis or type of stent. Intravascular sonography revealed incomplete expansion of stents in 21 cases, whereas DSA revealed incomplete expansion of stents in seven cases. The intra- and interobserver variabilities in our study were 4% and 5%, respectively. CONCLUSION: In-stent restenoses are underestimated with DSA. Intravascular sonography is superior to DSA for detection of incomplete stent expansion.  相似文献

We present rules for the unsupervised learning of coincidence between excitatory postsynaptic potentials (EPSPs) by the adjustment of postsynaptic delays between the transmitter binding and the opening of ion channels. Starting from a gradient descent scheme, we develop a robust and more biological threshold rule by which EPSPs from different synapses can be gradually pulled into coincidence. The synaptic delay changes are determined from the summed potential--at the site where the coincidence is to be established--and from postulated synaptic learning functions that accompany the individual EPSPs. According to our scheme, templates for the detection of spatiotemporal patterns of synaptic activation can be learned, which is demonstrated by computer simulation. Finally, we discuss possible relations to biological mechanisms.  相似文献

Molds for micro forming processes require specific functional surfaces to provide optimized tribological condition for forming processes. Such topographies with microscopic dimensions can for instance be generated by lithographical methods. However, a main disadvantage of these processes is their low flexibility, e.g. changing the structures to be generated causes extensive adaptations in the manufacturing process. Therefore, mechanical precision machining processes like micro milling, micro grinding and micro polishing are appropriate processes for the manufacture of micro molds of manifold shapes and with well suited micro topographies.  相似文献

Supercritical fluids and ionic liquids offer attractive opportunities for modifying and applying zeolites as adsorbents and catalysts. After a brief introduction to the most important properties of these solvents, examples of zeolite applications in supercritical fluids and ionic liquids from the recent literature are discussed. Particular emphasis is put on the influence of reaction media on the processes occurring in the zeolitic pore systems, e.g., during shape‐selective conversions in zeolite catalysts. The present potential and future challenges for the application of zeolites in supercritical fluids and ionic liquids are identified. Most attractive process options arise from a combined use of both ionic liquids and supercritical fluids in integrated reaction schemes.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of scale-up on the tablet velocity and surface time of tablets (oblong and biconvex) in the spray zone of different perforated pan coaters. A Bohle Film Coater (BFC) 5 and 10 for the laboratory scale, a BFC 40 for the pilot scale and a BFC 200 for the production scale were used. The pan speeds were scaled-up using the same peripheral speeds. The tablet velocities for 5 peripheral speeds were determined using video imaging of blue tracer tablets. An increasing pan size resulted in a higher tablet velocity and lower surface time in the spray zone for same peripheral speeds. A mathematical model in the literature was proved to predict the tablet velocities in scale-up in the BFCs. The tablet velocities in the pilot or production scale can be predicted based on the measured tablet velocities in the laboratory scale. Furthermore, depending on the pan size, the increase in tablet velocity (RV-value) can be predicted for the scale-up process using BFCs. The RV-values were validated for three pan sizes, different pan speeds and three different tablet types. The RV-value can be used as a correction factor to calculate the scaled-up spray rate based on the same spray rate per spray width ratios.  相似文献

The discussion about how to treat author self-citations driven by policy application and quality measurement intensified in the last years. The definition introduced by Snyder and Bonzi has — in lack of any reasonable alternative — been used in bibliometric practice for science policy purposes. This method, however, does not take into account the weight of self-citing authors among coauthors of both the cited and citing papers. The objective of the present paper is to quantify the weight of self-citations with respect to co-authorship. The analysis is conducted at two levels: at the macro level, namely, for fifteen subject fields and the most active forty countries, and at the meso level, for a set of selected research institutions.  相似文献

As part of the stress response, the 72 kDa heat shock protein (hsp72) is induced in neurons after ischemic and traumatic brain injury (TBI). To examine the stress response after TBI with secondary insult, we examined the regional and cellular expression of hsp72 mRNA and protein after controlled cortical impact (CCI) injury with secondary hypoxemia and mild hypotension in rats. Rats were killed at 6, 8, 24, 72, or 168 h after trauma. Naive and sham-operated rats were used as controls. Brains were removed, and in situ hybridization (n = 2/group), immunocytochemistry (n = 4/group), and Western blot analysis (n = 3 to 5/group) for hsp72 was performed. Hsp72 mRNA was expressed in neurons in the ipsilateral cortex, CA3 region of the hippocampus, hilus, and dentate gyrus at 6 h. Hsp72 mRNA was expressed primarily in the ipsilateral cortex, at 24 h, and by 72 h hsp72 mRNA expression returned to near basal levels. Hsp72 protein was seen in ipsilateral cortical neurons, hilar neurons, and neurons in the medial aspect of the CA3 region of the hippocampus (CA3-c) at 24 h. At 72 h, hsp72 immunoreactivity was reduced versus 24 h in these same regions, but it was increased versus baseline. Western blot analysis confirmed an increase in hsp72 protein in the ipsilateral cortex. The regional pattern of hsp72 mRNA induction in neurons was similar to the pattern of protein expression after CCI, with the exceptions that hsp72 mRNA, but not protein, was expressed in the dentate gyrus and the lateral aspect of the CA3 region of the hippocampus (CA3-a). The stress response, as detected by hsp72 expression, is induced in some neurons in some regions that are selectively vulnerable to delayed neuronal death in this model of TBI. The failure to translate some proteins including hsp72 may be associated with delayed neuronal death in certain hippocampal regions after TBI.  相似文献
