In this work the performance of a Fractional Fourier transform (FrFT) based Minimum Mean Squared Error receiver for MIMO systems
with space time processing over Rayleigh faded channels is presented. The proposed receiver called Optimum FrFT based MIMO
receiver (OFMR) shows improved performance outperforming the simple MMSE receiver in Rayleigh faded channel.

Water splitting for H2 production by absorbing sunlight is broadly used as a common technique to counter existing energy crisis and environmental problems, caused by extreme use of fossil fuels. We report a versatile and facile method to fabricate ordered Silicon nanohorns (SiNHs) by employing prefabricated metal nano-gap template on Si. The close-packed monolayer is used to develop the nanohole template, which enables the generation of SiNHs via metal-assisted controlled chemical etching. By varying monolayer parameters and etching sequences, SiNHs with desired dimensions were obtained. Growth along the crystalline plane of the base substrate ?100?, with a consistent bent at the tip of the SiNH, has been observed. The resulting SiNHs exhibited enhanced photoelectrochemical properties, with short-circuit photocurrent density more than four times higher than that of the planer Si along with enhanced trapping of photogenerated carriers. A photocurrent density of ~4.8 mA/cm2 was observed at a potential of -1 V vs. RHE. Further, the electrochemical impedance study (EIS) was carried out to understand the photoelectrochemical activity and charge transfer kinetics of the SiNHs system. The real and imaginary refractive indexes of organic-based nonvolatile aerosols produced by burning vegetation are reported for the infrared spectral region. The data were obtained by an iterative Kramers-Kronig analysis of the transmission spectra (2–25 μm) obtained from thin-film samples deposited on a KBr substrate immersed directly in the smoke plumes of small-scale test fires. The results include samples from fires fueled by lawn grass, alfalfa, mesquite, tumble-weed, pine needles, and mixed twigs, leaves, and weeds. The most significant characteristics of all spectra are as follows: (a) strong absorptions in the 3–5-μm region owing to condensed water and CH3/CH2 groups of aliphatic hydrocarbons; (b) characteristic peaks in the 6-, 8-, and 10-μm regions owing to skeletal modes of aromatic and terpenic groups; and (c) relatively little absorption in the 10–12-μm region. The imaginary refractive index of all samples is comparable (~ 0.10–0.30) in the 3–5- and 8–10-μm regions and is 3–10 times lower in the 10–12-μm region. In the 3–5-μm region, most of the absorption takes place in the interval between 3 and 4 μm as opposed to the 4–5-μm interval which shows significantly less absorption. It is also noteworthy that there is insignificant absorption in the 2.0–2.5-μm window region. Results are significantly different from values for elemental carbon which are known to be relatively wavelength independent in these spectral regions and of magnitude between ~ 0.50 and 1.0 for the imaginary index. Theoretical calculations, assuming particle sizes in the Rayleigh scattering regime, yields a mass extinction coefficient (m2/g) for the organic smokes on the order of ~ 0.20 for the 8–10-μm region and as high as 0.40 at 3 μm to near zero at 5 μm in the 3–5-μm window. 相似文献

The role of CD4+ and CD8+ cells in the generation of an effective immune response against viral infections is well established. Moreover, there is an increasing realization that subunit vaccines which include both CD4+- and CD8+-T-cell epitopes are highly effective in controlling viral infections, as opposed to those which are designed to activate a CD8+- or CD4+-T-cell response alone. One of the major limitations of epitope-based vaccines designed to stimulate virus-specific CD4+ T cells is that endogenously expressed class II-restricted minimal cytotoxic-T-lymphocyte (CTL) epitopes are poorly recognized by CD4+ CTLs. In the present study we attempted to enhance the efficiency of class II-restricted endogenous presentation of minimal class II-restricted CTL epitopes by specifically targeting a polyepitope protein to class II processing compartments through the endosomal and/or lysosomal pathway. A significantly enhanced stimulation of virus-specific CD4+-T-cell clones by antigen-presenting cells (APC) expressing the recombinant polyepitope protein targeted to the endocytic/secretory pathway was readily demonstrated in cytotoxicity assays. In addition, in vitro activation of Epstein-Barr virus- and influenza virus-specific CD4+ memory CTLs by the recombinant constructs encoding the polyepitope protein, specifically targeted to the lysosomal compartment, was also demonstrated. The enhanced stimulatory capacity of APC expressing a lysosome-targeted polyepitope protein has important implications for vaccine design. 相似文献

An in‐depth investigation has been carried toward utilizing polymer‐rich nonmetallic fraction of printed circuit boards (PCBs) as reinforcing fillers in polypropylene (PP) composites. The influence of waste additions (up to 25 wt %) on structural, thermal, morphological, and dynamic mechanical behavior of PP composites was investigated using a range of analytical techniques. The incorporation of PCB waste was found to affect the crystalline morphology resulting in the formation of smaller spherulites. The presence of glass fibers in PCB waste promoted the formation of β‐crystal enhancing the mechanical properties of composites. Thermal analysis showed a maximum increase of ~15 °C in the crystallization onset temperature (Tco) suggesting the nucleating effect of the filler, a feature also supported by structural investigations. Polarized microscopy revealed a reduction in the spherulite size after 5 wt % PCB waste loading owing to the presence of large number of nucleation sites. The incorporation of waste also increased the thermal stability of composites increasing the final degradation temperature by up to 14 °C. Dynamic mechanical properties of PP/PCB waste composites were determined in the temperature range ?20 to 155 °C; a significant increase in the storage modulus further confirmed the reinforcing effect of waste additives. This investigation has shown that the nonmetallic fraction of PCB waste could be used as a cost‐effective reinforcing filler for PP, providing an environmental friendly route to utilize electronic waste in value‐added products. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Deterioration or spoilage of dehydrated food products stored in flexible packaging materials depends on the partial pressure of water vapor in the environment of the stored food. Mathematical analysis of the diffusion of water vapor through semipermeable polymer films using Nernst-Planck equations is combined with non-liner water sorption isotherms on food to establish criteria and optimum conditions for storage stability of dehydrated food. Langmuir, Brunauer-Emmet-Teller (BET), Halsey, Oswin and Freundlich isotherms are used for various ranges of water activity. It is shown that a single parameter, the permeability-sorption constant, based on the physical properties of the polymer and the sorptive properties of the food, accounts for both diffusion and adostption and can be used to accurately determine maximum storage times and can be used to accurately determine maximum storage times and to optimize the selection of packaging films. The theory is extended to thermodynamically compatible solute-polymer systems, where the polymer film is swollen appreciably by the diffusing species. 相似文献

Abstract. The time-constrained packet routing problem is to schedule a set of packets to be transmitted through a multinode network,
where every packet has a source and a destination (as in traditional packet routing problems) as well as a release time and
a deadline. The objective is to schedule the maximum number of packets subject to deadline constraints. This problem is studied
in [1], where it is shown that the problem is NP-Complete even when the underlying topology is a linear array. Approximation
algorithms are also provided in [1] for the linear array and the unidirectional ring for both the case where packets may be
buffered in transit and the case where they may not be.
In this paper we extend the results of [1] in two directions. First, we consider the more general network topologies of trees
and two-dimensional meshes. Second, we associate with each packet a measure of utility, called a weight, and study the problem
of maximizing the total weight of the packets that are scheduled subject to their timing constraints. For the bufferless case,
we provide constant factor approximation algorithms for the time-constrained scheduling problem with weighted packets on trees
and meshes. We also provide logarithmic approximations for the same problems in the buffered case. These results are complemented
by new lower bounds, which demonstrate that we cannot hope to achieve the same results for general network topologies. For
example, we show that if k packets are required to follow prescribed paths in an arbitrary graph, then unless NP = ZPP, there is no polynomial-time

Zn2SiO4:Mn2+ particles are used as green phosphors in plasma display panels and cathode ray tubes. In this study, we report the synthesis of zinc silicate phosphors by flame spray pyrolysis using different Zn-sources and under different process conditions. The XRD and luminescence measurement showed the phosphors prepared from Zn-nitrate source to have better crystallinity and emission characteristics. The luminescence properties of the phosphor particles were found to improve both at higher methane flow rates during pyrolysis and at higher annealing temperatures. 相似文献

The use of TaN, TiN, and ZrN diffusion barriers for Ti/Al-based contacts on n-GaN (n ∼ 3 × 1017 cm−3) is reported. The annealing temperature (600–1,000°C) dependence of the Ohmic contact characteristics using a Ti/Al/X/Ti/Au
metallization scheme, where X is TaN, TiN, or ZrN, deposited by sputtering was investigated by contact resistance measurements
and Auger electron spectroscopy (AES). The as-deposited contacts were rectifying and transitioned to Ohmic behavior for annealing
at ≥600°C. A minimum specific contact resistivity of ∼6 × 10−5 Ω-cm−2 was obtained after annealing over a broad range of temperatures (600–900°C for 60 s), comparable to that achieved using a
conventional Ti/Al/Pt/Au scheme on the same samples. The contact morphology became considerably rougher at the high end of
the annealing range. The long-term reliability of the contacts at 350°C was examined; each contact structure showed an increase
in contact resistance by a factor of three to four over 24 days at 350°C in air. AES profiling showed that the aging had little
effect on the contact structure of the nitride stacks. 相似文献
