We report a simple but efficient method to synthesize carbon nanotube-bridged wires (NBWs) with gaps as small as 5 nm. In this method, we have combined a strategy for assembling carbon nanotubes (CNTs) inside anodized aluminum oxide pores and the on-wire lithography technique to fabricate CNT-bridged wires with gap sizes deliberately tailored over the 5-600 nm range. As a proof-of-concept demonstration of the utility of this architecture, we have prepared NBW-based chemical and biosensors which exhibit higher analyte sensitivity (lower limits of detection) than those based on planar CNT networks. This observation is attributed to a greater surface-to-volume ratio of CNTs in the NBWs than those in the planar CNT devices. Because of the ease of synthesis and high yield of NBWs, this technique may enable the further incorporation of CNT-based architectures into various nanoelectronic and sensor platforms.  相似文献

In the present investigation, we made an endeavor to fabricate the ZnO nanoparticles and achieved the tunable properties with Nd doping. The Nd-doped ZnO nanoparticles were characterized via X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) studies that confirmed the successful doping of Nd ions in the ZnO crystal lattice without amending its hexagonal phase. The particle morphology revealed nearly spherical particles with uniform size distribution. The band gap of these samples was determined using diffuse-reflectance spectra (DRS) and was found to vary from 3.17 to 3.21 eV with increasing Nd concentration. A broad and intense emission band at 1083 nm for Nd doped ZnO nanoparticles is observed and is assigned to corresponding emission transition 4F3/2?→?4I11/2 of Nd3+ ions. Furthermore, the magnetic studies indicate that the Nd doping altered the magnetic behavior of nanocrystalline ZnO particles from diamagnetic to ferromagnetic at 300 K and that the magnetization of these samples decreased with increasing Nd concentration. The tunable optical band gap as well as room-temperature ferromagnetism of these samples may find applications in both optoelectronics and spintronics.  相似文献

A simple protocol has been developed for the creation of the biomimetic hybrid materials, calcium carbonate, and hydroxyapatite, by in situ growth and mineralization in newly developed nontoxic hydrogel templates. A series of poly(ethylene oxide phosphonamidate) hydrogels with different network structures were synthesized by reacting various poly(ethylene glycol)s with phosphorous oxychloride and diamines in a one-pot protocol, which exhibits promising advantages including a short reaction time, an easy separation, and a high yield with a mass producible feasibility. The hydrogels were proven to be nontoxic according to an in vitro viability assay using human embryonic kidney 293T cells. Careful control of growth and mineralization conditions such as ions transport rate, pH, type of hydrogel, and mineralization temperature resulted in a variety of calcium carbonate and hydroxylapatite architectures including nanorods, nanowires, and well-defined hybrid structures. The resulting materials were analyzed by infrared spectroscopy, electron microscopes, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, and X-ray powder diffraction.  相似文献

In this letter, the effect of silicon and nitrogen on the electrical properties of TaSi/sub x/N/sub y/ gate electrode were investigated. The TaSi/sub x/N/sub y/ films were deposited on SiO/sub 2/ using reactive cosputtering of Ta and Si target in Ar and N/sub 2/ ambient. The thermal stability of TaSi/sub x/N/sub y//SiO/sub 2//p-type Si stacks was evaluated by measuring the flatband voltage and equivalent oxide thickness at 400/spl deg/C and 900/spl deg/C in Ar. It was found that under high temperature anneals, Si-rich TaSi/sub x/N/sub y/ films increased and this was attributed to the formation of a reaction layer at the electrode-dielectric interface. Reducing the Si content alone did not prevent the formation of this reaction layer while removing Si completely by utilizing TaN resulted in work functions that were too high. The presence of both Si and N was deemed necessary and their content was critical in obtaining optimized TaSi/sub x/N/sub y/ gates that are suitable for NMOS devices.  相似文献

Abstract: To overcome the inefficiency of domain independent tools, a domain-specific knowledge-based shell for parallel machine scheduling problems, PAMS (PArallel Machine Scheduling System), is proposed. PAMS has the following features; mixed knowledge representation, two-stage status-driven control strategy, conflict resolution using domain theory, domain-specific syntax and primitive operators, interface with database, domain-specific input/output interface, interactive scheduling capability, built-in heuristic knowledge, multiple levels of schedule, and expansibility of the domain. A prototype of PAMS, PAMS-1, is developed using C-language on a supermicrocomputer, and the performance of PAMS-1 is evaluated. The results show that the PAMS-1 performs very well from various perspectives.  相似文献

Sols containing well-mixed tetraethyl orthosilicate, sodium methylate (CH3ONa), and Ca metal dissolved in HCIO4 were hydrolyzed at low pH. After gelation, controlled drying, and subsequent firing at 600°C, the mixture yielded clear glass chunks. Glasses containing 85% to <100% SiO2, which otherwise are difficult to make by conventional melting techniques, could be made using this technique.  相似文献

A unique liquid injection molding machine for polyurethane was designed and built to process a large quantity of polyurethane in a short period of time. This machine has a continuously variable flow rate. Using inexpensive, low capacity gear pumps, 5 gallon hydraulic accumulators were charged with fluid components. The fluid can be pumped into the accumulators at low pressure followed by nitrogen gas addition to the bladders to raise the fluid pressure, or the charging pumps can pump up the accumulators against an existing pressure. The two components were then discharged under pressure through linkage activated ball valves and mixed together in a mixing chamber. The system provided for a very low pressure loss during discharge, resulting in high fluid velocity. Extremely high flow rates were possible: approximately 1440 lb/min at 2500 psi, a pressure less than the maximum possible system pressure. This system delivers large flow rates of high quality urethane while still maintaining its simplicity, light weight, and relative low cost.  相似文献
