Inter-area low frequency oscillation in power system is one of the major problems for bulk power transmission through weak tie lines.Use of wide-area signal is more effective than the local area signal in damping out the inter-area oscillations.Wide area measurement system(WAMS)is convenient to transmit the wide area signal through the communication channel to the remote location.Communication failure is one of the disastrous phenomena in a communication channel.In this paper,a dual input single output(DISO)Hm controller is designed to build the control resiliency by employing two highest observability ranking wide area signals with respect to the critical damping inter-area mode.The proposed controller can provide sufficient damping to the system and also the system remains stabilized if one of the wide-area signals is lost.The time delay is an unwanted phenomenon that degrades the performance of the controllers.The unified Smith predictor approach is used to design a Hm controller to handle the time delay.Kundur's two-area and IEEE-39 bus test systems are considered to verify the effectiveness of the proposed controller.From the simulation results,it is verified that,the proposed controller provides excellent damping performance at normal communication and improves the controller resiliency to counteract the communication failure.  相似文献

In this paper, a new approach to stability analysis of nonlinear dynamics of an underactuated autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) is presented. AUV is a highly nonlinear robotic system whose dynamic model includes coupled terms due to the hydrodynamic damping factors. It is difficult to analyze the stability of a nonlinear dynamical system through Routh’s stability approach because it contains nonlinear dynamic parameters owing to hydrodynamic damping coefficients. It is also difficult to analyze the stability of AUVs using Lyapunov’s criterion and LaSalle’s invariance principle. In this paper, we proposed the extended-Routh’s stability approach to verify the stability of such nonlinear dynamic systems. This extended-Routh’s stability approach is much easier as compared to the other existing methods. Numerical simulations are presented to demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed stability verification of the nonlinear dynamic systems, e.g., an AUV system dynamics.  相似文献

This article addresses the usage and scope of Big Data Analytics in video surveillance and its potential application areas. The current age of technology provides the users, ample opportunity to generate data at every instant of time. Thus in general, a tremendous amount of data is generated every instant throughout the world. Among them, amount of video data generated is having a major share. Education, healthcare, tours and travels, food and culture, geographical exploration, agriculture, safety and security, entertainment etc., are the key areas where a tremendous amount of video data is generated every day. A major share among it are taken by the daily used surveillance data captured from the security purpose camera and are recorded everyday. Storage, retrieval, processing, and analysis of such gigantic data require some specific platform. Big Data Analytics is such a platform, which eases this analysis task. The aim of this article is to investigate the current trends in video surveillance and its applications using Big Data Analytics. It also aims to focus on the research opportunities for visual surveillance in Big Data frameworks. We have reported here the state-of-the-art surveillance schemes for four different imaging modalities: conventional video scene, remotely sensed video, medical diagnostics, and underwater surveillance. Several works were reported in this research field over recent years and are categorized based on the challenges solved by the researchers. A list of tools used for video surveillance using Big Data framework is presented. Finally, research gaps in this domain are discussed.

Malaria causes a worldwide annual mortality of about a million people. Rapidly evolving drug-resistant species of the parasite have created a pressing need for the identification of new drug targets and vaccine candidates. By developing fractionation protocols to enrich parasites from low-parasitemia patient samples, we have carried out the first ever proteomics analysis of clinical isolates of early stages of Plasmodium falciparum (Pf) and P. vivax. Patient-derived malarial parasites were directly processed and analyzed using shotgun proteomics approach using high-sensitivity MS for protein identification. Our study revealed about 100 parasite-coded gene products that included many known drug targets such as Pf hypoxanthine guanine phosphoribosyl transferase, Pf L-lactate dehydrogenase, and Plasmepsins. In addition, our study reports the expression of several parasite proteins in clinical ring stages that have never been reported in the ring stages of the laboratory-cultivated parasite strain. This proof-of-principle study represents a noteworthy step forward in our understanding of pathways elaborated by the parasite within the malaria patient and will pave the way towards identification of new drug and vaccine targets that can aid malaria therapy.  相似文献

Functionalized surfaces with an affinity for albumin over competing serum proteins were prepared by immobilizing linear peptides or a small chemical ligand (SCL) with albumin-binding properties on silanized silicon surfaces. The real time adsorption of human serum albumin from single- and multi-component systems was monitored by dynamic ellipsometry. The experimentally obtained time-dependent adsorption data were analyzed by two models: a) a pseudo-first-order model and b) a biphasic kinetic model that accounted for the formation of tightly and loosely bound complexes. The biphasic kinetic model better fit the experimental data, and the binding constants were determined by non-linear regression analyses. The net forward rate constant for the tightly bound complex formation was distinctively higher for surfaces functionalized with peptides (~ 0.014 min− 1) when compared to surfaces functionalized with SCL (~ 10− 3 min− 1).  相似文献

The paper presents a new model for cognitive reasoning using fuzzy neural nets. The analysis of the proposed model yields guaranteed stability of the temporal fuzzy inferences, derived from the network and conditional stability of the structure of the cognitive map, framed by the arcs of the network. The present paper discusses the flow visualization for turbulent free convection in a tank of water with the bottom surface being a smooth or a grooved surface and the top of the water surface exposed to ambient. The grooved surface is of parallel 90° V-grooves with groove height of 10 mm and groove width of 20 mm. The experiment is carried out with aspect ratio (AR) of 2.9 and Rayleigh number (Ra) in the range, 1.3 × 107 − 4 × 107. Here AR is the aspect ratio (= width of fluid layer/height of fluid layer). Heat flux at the bottom surface is from electrical heating. From the pH-dye visualization, interesting flow structures are observed and these structures are analyzed with the help of plumes dynamics and temperature variations with time.  相似文献
