Using a semicontinuous culture method, in which operational parameters such as cell concentration and light intensity distribution were maintained almost constant, instability of the specific growth rate of Rhodobacter capsulatus B-100, a purple bacterium, was observed to be similar to that of R. capsulatus ST-410 when cultivated under high ratios of light intensity on the illuminated side to that of the transmitted light. Such instability was not observed in the cultivation of Chlorella vulgaris, a eukaryotic green alga, even at higher cell concentrations. Under the same conditions, the increase in only the ferrous concentration from 43 microM, the concentration in the original RCV medium, to 172 microM sustained a stable growth, whereas Fe(2+) was slightly consumed during the cultivation. Supplemental illumination with a fluorescent lamp on the transmitted side of a flat plate photobioreactor sustained a moderate level of stable growth, while a halogen lamp slightly affected the growth stability. Our results showed that an increase in Fe(2+) concentration or supplemental illumination improves the growth stability of R. capsulatus.  相似文献

The proposed method can generate an optimal feedforward control input and the corresponding optimal walking trajectory minimizing the \(L_2\) norm of the control input by iteration of laboratory experiments. Since a general walking motion involves discontinuous velocity transitions caused by the collision with the ground, the proposed method consists of the combination of a trajectory learning part and an estimation part of the discontinuous state transition mapping using the stored experimental data. We apply the proposed method to a kneed biped robot with a torso, where we also provide a technique to generate an optimal gait not only being energy-efficient but also avoiding the foot-scuffing problem.  相似文献

Several salts of α,ω-sulfates, MO3SO(CH2)n OSO3M(n=12, 14, 16, 18, and M=Li, Na, and K) were prepared from the corresponding α,ω-alkane diols. The Krafft points of these α,ω-sulfates with common counterion as estimated by electroconductivity measurements increased with the increase of the hydrocarbon chain length, and the effect of the counterions on the Krafft points of the α,ω-sulfates with the same hydrocarbon chain length was in the order : Li<Na<K. Solutions of the α,ω-sulfates, except disodium dodecanediol disulfate, showed two break points corresponding to the first and second critical micelle concentration in each plot of the electroconductivity as a function of the concentration. The existence of the second break point suggested that another aggregation of rearrangement of the existing aggregates occurs in α,ω-sulfate solutions in addition to the usual micelle formation. The first and second break points of α,ω-sulfates with sodium counterion decreased logarithmically with increasing total number of methylene groups. The relationships were given as follows: log(first break point)=−0.138Nc−0.095; log(second break point)=−0.104Nc−0.251. The effect of the counterions upon the break points of α,ω-sulfates with the same hydrocarbon chain length was in accordance with their positions in the lyotropic series.  相似文献

In order to specify the best nuclear data on iron, the fusion neutronics benchmark experiment on iron at Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA)/Fusion Neutronics Source (FNS) was analyzed in detail with MCNP-4C and the latest nuclear data libraries, JENDL-3.3, FENDL-2.1, JEFF-3.1 and ENDF/B-VII.0. As a result, totally the calculation result with ENDF/B-VII.0 agreed with the measurement best, except that it underestimated the measured neutron flux above 10 MeV with the depth. It was noted that the calculation result with JENDL-3.3 overestimated the measured neutrons below a few keV. Through the DORT calculations based on the iron data in ENDF/B-VII.0, it was found out that the first inelastic scattering cross-section data of 57Fe in JENDL-3.3 caused the overestimation.  相似文献

Molecular dynamics (MD) simulations of large argon clusters impacting on silicon solid targets were performed in order to study the transient process of crater formation and sputtering. The MD simulations demonstrate that the initial momentum of incident cluster is transferred to target surface atoms through multiple collision mechanism, where the initial momentum, which is along to the surface normal before impact, is deflected to lateral direction. This momentum transfer process was analyzed by the calculation of the velocity at the crater edge (the interface between cluster and target). In the case of Ar1000 cluster impact on Si(1 0 0) target at low energy per atom less than 40 eV/atom, the maximum value of lateral velocity of the crater edge increases in proportional to the velocity of incident cluster atoms. On the other hand, the crater edge velocity saturates over 40 eV/atom of incident energy per atom. In this case, the whole of constituent cluster atoms are implanted into the target and expand in both lateral and reflective directions at the subsurface region of the target. These MD simulations demonstrated that this collisional process result in the high yield sputtering of the target atoms.  相似文献

Fabrication of high-aspect-ratio microstructures was performed by proton beam writing (PBW) using a microbeam line at Takasaki Ion Accelerators for Advanced Radiation Application (TIARA), JAEA Takasaki, JAPAN. As one of the applications of the high-aspect-ratio structures micro-machined by PBW, we utilized the high-aspect pillars for electric-micro filters of microbes such as Escherichia coli and Yeast based on the dielectrophoretic force. The filter is equipped with high-aspect pillars with a height of ~20 μm and a diameter of ~1 μm on a glass plate. Evaluation of the dielectrophoresis (DEP) device for capturing E. coli and Yeast was made using either observation by optical microscope or photoluminescence (PL) measurements.  相似文献

Previous studies showed that water-free, premixed calcium phosphate cements (Pre-CPCs) exhibited longer hardening times and lower strengths than conventional CPCs, but were stable in the package. The materials hardened only after being delivered to a wet environment and formed hydroxyapatite as the only product. Pre-CPCs also demonstrated good washout resistance and excellent biocompatibility when implanted in subcutaneous tissues in rats. The present study evaluated characteristics of Pre-CPCs when implanted in subcutaneous tissues (Study I) and used for repairing surgically created two-wall periodontal defects (Study II). Pre-CPC pastes were prepared by combining CPC powders that consisted of CPC-1: Ca(4)(PO(4))(2)O and CaHPO(4), CPC-2: α-Ca(3)(PO(4))(2) and CaCO(3) or CPC-3: DCPA and Ca(OH)(2) with a glycerol at powder-to-liquid mass ratios of 3.5, 2.5, and 2.5, respectively. In each cement mixture, the Ca to P molar ratio was 1.67. The glycerol contained Na(2)HPO(4) (30 mass %) and hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (0.55 %) to accelerate cement hardening and improve washout resistance, respectively. In Study I, the test materials were implanted subcutaneously in rats. Four weeks after the operation, the animals were sacrificed and histopathological observations were performed. The results showed that all of the implanted materials exhibited very slight or negligible inflammatory reactions in tissues contacted with the implants. In Study II, the mandibular premolar teeth of mature beagle dogs were extracted. One month later, two-wall periodontal bone defects were surgically created adjacent to the teeth of the mandibular bone. The defects were filled with the Pre-CPC pastes and the flaps replaced in the preoperative position. The dogs were sacrificed at 1, 3 and 6 months after surgery and sections of filled defects resected. Results showed that one month after surgery, the implanted Pre-CPC-1 paste was partially replaced by bone and was converted to bone at 6 months. The pockets filled with Pre-CPC-2 were completely covered by newly formed bone in 1 month. The Pre-CPC-2 was partially replaced by trabecular bone in 1 month and was completely replaced by bone in 6 months. Examination of 1 month and 3 month samples indicated that Pre-CPC-2 resorbed and was replaced by bone more rapidly than Pre-CPC 1. Both Pre-CPC pastes were highly osteoconductive. When implanted in periodontal defects, Pre-CPC-2 was replaced by bone more rapidly than Pre-CPC-1.  相似文献

The swim-type remotely operated vehicle (ROV) for inspection of narrow spaces in nuclear power plants has been developed. Many structures are crowded in a confined space at regular intervals in the bottom area of a reactor. So, the thickness of the ROV shape is an important design point to ensure that the ROV can move in the space. The developed ROV has a three-dimensional swimming mechanism using six thrusters, three cameras for observing the position while moving and for making inspections easily, and a localization system. The localization system combines two elements: a gyroscope to detect the progression direction; and a slit laser that detects the progression distance using the optical cutting method. The localization method is called the modified inertial navigation (MIN) method and it was evaluated in a mock-up examination. The ROV was able to move smoothly using the MIN method and its position could be detected without making a mistake in the route followed.  相似文献
