We have found that the depinning field of domain walls (DWs) in permalloy (Ni(81)Fe(19)) nanowires can be experimentally controlled by interactions between magnetic stray fields and artificial constrictions. A pinning geometry that consists of a notch and a nanobar is considered, where a DW traveling in the nanowire is pinned by the notch with a nanobar vertical to it. We have found that the direction of magnetization of the nanobar affects the shape and local energy minimum of the potential landscape experienced by the DW; therefore, the pinning strength strongly depends on the interaction of the magnetic stray field from the nanobar with the external pinning force of the notch. The mechanism of this pinning behavior is applied for the instant and flexible control of the pinning strength with respect to various DW motions in DW-mediated magnetic memory devices.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to investigate the surface characteristics of hydroxyapatite (HA)/titanium (Ti) composite layer on the Ti-35Ta-xZr alloy surface by radio frequency (RF) and direct current (DC) sputtering for dental application. The magnetron sputtered deposition for the HA was performed in the RF mode and for the Ti in the DC mode. Microstructures of the alloys were examined by optical microscopy (OM) and x-ray diffractometer (XRD). Surface characteristics of coated film was investigated by field-emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM) equipped with an energy dispersive x-ray spectrometer (EDS), and XRD. Microstructures of the Ti-35Ta-xZr alloys were changed from α″ phase to β phase, and changed from a needle-like structure to an equiaxed structure with increasing Zr content. From the results of polarization behavior in the Ti-35Ta-15Zr alloy, HA/Ti composite layer showed the good corrosion resistance compared to Ti single layer. The results of alternating current (AC) impedance test indicated that the presence of ha coating acted as a stable barrier in increasing the corrosion resistance.  相似文献

We employ a static analysis to examine the extensivity (∀x:x≤f(x)) of functions defined over lattices in a λ-calculus augmented with lattice operations. The need for such a verification procedure has arisen in our work on a generator system (called Zoo) of static program-analyzers. The input to Zoo is a static analysis specification that consists of lattice definitions and function definitions over the lattices. Once the extensivity of the functions is ascertained, the generated analyzer is guaranteed to terminate when the lattices have finite-heights. The extensivity analysis consists of a sound syntax-driven deductive rules whose satisfiability check is done by a constraint solving procedure. Hyunjun Eo: He is a Ph.D. candidate of Computer Science Dept. at KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology). He received his B.S. and M.S. in Computer Science from KAIST in 1996 and 1998, respectively. For 1998–2003, he was a research assistant of the National Creative Research Initiative Center for Research On Program Analysis System. His research interest has been on static program analysis, program logics, and higher-order and typed languages. He is currently working on developing a tool for automatic generation of program analyzers. Kwangkeun Yi, Ph.D.: His research interest has been on semantic-based program analysis and systems application of language technologies. After his Ph.D. from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign he joined the Software Principles Research Department at Bell Laboratories, where he worked on various static analysis approaches for higher-order and typed programming languages. For 1995–2003, he was a faculty member in the Department of Computer Science, Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology. Since Fall 2003, he has been a faculty member in the School of Computer Science and Engineering, Seoul National University. Kwang-Moo Choe, Ph.D.: He is a professor of Computer Science at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology. He received his B.S. from Seoul National University in 1976, and his M.S. and Ph.D. from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology in 1978 and 1984, respectively. For 1985–1986, he was a technical staff of AT&T Bell Labs at Murray Hill. His research interest is formal language theory, parallel evaluation of logic programs, and optimizing compilers.  相似文献

To characterize the mesenteric alpha1- and alpha2-adrenoceptor populations in newborn piglets, an extracorporeal circuit was established to control intestinal blood flow in 0- to 2-day old and 10- to 14-day old animals. In both groups, alpha-adrenoceptor activation was first documented by observing dose-dependent increases in mesenteric perfusion pressure after intramesenteric arterial injection of alpha-adrenoceptor agonists. In the 10- to 14-day old piglets, mesenteric vasoconstrictor responses to alpha1-adrenoceptor agonists (methoxamine and norepinephrine) and an alpha2-adrenoceptor agonist (BHT-933) were each blunted (P < 0.05, analysis of variance) by peripheral intravenous injections of prazosin (an alpha1-adrenoceptor antagonist) and yohimbine (an alpha2-adrenoceptor antagonist), respectively. The mesenteric vasoconstrictor responses to those agonists were not significantly attenuated by prazosin or yohimbine in 0- to 2-day old animals, nor were they blunted by YM-12617 (alpha1-adrenoceptor antagonist) or idazoxan (alpha2-adrenoceptor antagonist)--compounds that are structurally unrelated to prazosin and yohimbine, respectively. In addition, mesenteric vasoconstrictor responses to other known vasoconstrictor agents--angiotensin II, neuropeptide Y, and a thromboxane A2 mimic (U-46619)--were not effected in either age group by prazosin or yohimbine, implying these agents act independently of alpha-adrenoceptor mechanisms. These data suggest that (1) there exists functional mesenteric alpha1- and alpha2-adrenoceptor-like activity in 10- to 14-day old piglets that, in 0- to 2-day old animals, is not specifically expressed; and (2) mesenteric alpha-adrenoceptor function becomes more selective as newborn piglets mature.  相似文献

A new 3D texture model is developed by considering the scene image as the superposition of a random texture image on a smooth shaded image. The whole image is analyzed using a patch-by-patch process. Each patch is assumed to be a tilted and slanted texture plane. A modified reflectance map function is applied to describe the deterministic part, and the fractional differencing periodic model is chosen to describe the random texture because of its good performance in texture synthesis and its ability to represent the coarseness and the pattern of the surface at the same time. An orthographical projection technique is developed to deal with this particular random model, which has a nonisotropically distributed texture pattern. For estimating the parameter, a hybrid method that uses both the least square and the maximum-likelihood estimates is applied directly to the given intensity function. PURPOSE: The aim of the present study was to investigate carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), CA19.9, and CA72.4 in the serum and gastric juice of patients with gastric cancer. METHODS: Serum and gastric juice tumor markers CEA, CA19.9, and CA72.4 were measured in 59 patients who had gastric adenocarcinomas and were undergoing curative gastrectomy. The same markers were measured in 47 patients with benign gastric disorders and in 40 healthy subjects. The correlation between the serum and gastric juice levels of tumor markers and several clinicopathological factors were evaluated by univariate analysis. The significance of the tumor markers as prognostic factors was assessed both by univariate and multivariate analysis. RESULTS: The positivity rates of serum CEA, CA19.9, and CA72.4 were 57.6%, 38.9%, and 18.6% respectively. The positivity rates of gastric juice CEA, CA19.9, and CA72.4 were 62.7%, 30.5%, and 23.7% respectively. The combination of serum and gastric juice markers gave a positivity of 81.3%. There was no correlation between serum and gastric juice level of each tumor marker. Positivity of gastric juice markers did not correlate with prognosis. A significant difference in prognosis was observed between patients positive and negative for serum CEA and CA19.9. Multivariate analysis also revealed that serum CEA and CA19.9 levels were independent prognostic factors. CONCLUSIONS: Levels of both serum and gastric juice tumor markers continue to have only limited diagnostic usefulness in gastric cancer patients. CEA and CA19.9 in the preoperative sera are good prognostic factors, whereas the presence of tumor markers in the gastric juice does not play any prognostic role.  相似文献

There are several different architectures used in supercomputers, with differing computational models. These different models present a variety of resource allocation problems that must be solved. The computational needs of a program must be cast in terms of the computational model supported by the supercomputer, and this must be done in a way that makes effective use of the machine's resources. This is the resource allocation problem. The computational models of available supercomputers and the associated resource allocation techniques are surveyed. It is shown that many problems and solutions appear repeatedly in very different computing environments. Some case studies are presented, sowing concrete computational models and the allocation strategies used  相似文献

Highly manufacturable partially insulated field-effect transistors (PiFETs) were fabricated by using Si-SiGe epitaxial growth and selective SiGe etch process. Owing to these technologies, pseudo-silicon-on-insulator (SOI) structures, partially insulating oxide (PiOX) under source/drain (PUSD) and PiOX under channel (PUC), could be easily realized with excellent structural and process advantages. We are demonstrating their preliminary characteristics and properties. Especially, in the PUSD PiFET, junction capacitance, leakage current, and DIBL in bulk devices could be reduced and the floating body problem in SOI devices was also cleared without any area penalty. Thus, this PiFET structure can be a promising candidate for the future DRAM cell transistor.  相似文献

Bowenoid papulosis (BP) of the genitalia, characterized by the histological findings of a squamous cell carcinoma, follows a largely benign clinical course. The detection of oncogenic human papilloma viruses (HPV) from BP points to an aetiological role of these viral infections. A 47-year-old man with multiple genital skin lesions was seen over a 10-year period with the diagnosis of BP. Recently, he attended again with a recurrent genital tumour that was diagnosed as squamous cell carcinoma. His genital lesions progressed and became polymorphic in appearance, from a wart-like tumour to a reddish invasive plaque. To screen for the presence of different HPV sequences from different skin lesions and to correlate each HPV type with distinct clinical manifestations, polymerase chain reaction and single-strand conformational polymorphism (PCR-SSCP) were performed. PCR-SSCP revealed the presence of several types of HPV from different genital lesions. Sequencing results disclosed that he had a mixed infection of HPV6b, HPV16, HPV18 and HPV33, respectively. Interestingly, the clinical findings were fairly well correlated with the oncogenic potential of HPV found from each lesion.  相似文献
