To extract iridium(III), various physicochemical parameters were studied. 2-Octylaminopyridine was used for the extraction of iridium(III) from acetate medium at 8.5 pH. Quantitative extraction of iridium(III) was achieved via ion-pair formation of cation [2-OAPH+] and anion [Ir(CH3COO)4]?. The stripping of iridium(III)-laden organic phase was carried out 2 M HCl (3 × 10 mL) . The stoichiometry of the extracted ion–pair complex was found to be 1:4:1 (metal: acetate: extractant). The extracted species [2-OAPH+. Ir(CH3COO)4?] is assumed to be an ion association product of [Ir(CH3COO)4] ? and [2-OAPH]+. The proposed method was successfully used in the separation of iridium(III) from binary and ternary mixtures. Analysis of various alloy samples was also carried out.  相似文献

A series of copolymeric nanoparticles of the partially water‐soluble monomer ethyl methacrylate and the water‐soluble monomer 2‐hydroxyl ethyl methacrylate were synthesized from emulsions containing sodium dodecyl sulfate via free‐radical polymerization. Lamotrigine, as a model drug, was loaded in nanoparticles during in situ polymerization. A stable and transparent poly(ethyl methacrylate‐co‐hydroxyl ethyl methacrylate) nanolatex was produced for all compositions and characterized for particle size by dynamic light scattering and transmission electron microscopy. Particles were found to be smaller than 50 nm in size. Structural characterization of copolymers was done by infrared spectrometry, gel permeation chromatography, and NMR spectroscopy. Drug encapsulation efficiency was determined by ultraviolet (UV)–visible spectrometry and was found to be 26–62% for copolymers with different compositions. UV data suggest molecular‐level dispersion of the drug in the nanoparticles. In vitro drug‐release studies showed the controlled release of lamotrigine. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The moisture absorption of cyanate ester modified epoxy resin matrices has been studied under thermal spiking conditions. Enhanced moisture absorption has been observed at spike-temperatures above 120 °C. The results of the desorption studies on both control specimens and the spiked specimens showed that some of the water molecules remained entrained in the polymer. It is postulated that this water could be associated with that which is hydrogen bonded or from the hydrolysis of isolated residual cyanate ester groups because the concentration of entrained water remains constant at spike-temperatures below 180 °C. Above 180 °C a thermally activated process, leading to chain scission as indicated by a reduced recoverability of the glass transition temperature (Tg) on drying.On isothermal resorption, the moisture concentration was found to be similar to that achieved through thermal spiking, showing that the entrained water at the lower spike-temperatures can also be achieved under mild conditions. The Tg is reversibly recovered to within 5 °C, which indicates a degree of relaxation rather than degradation. The moisture diffusion coefficient estimated from the resorption curves is lower than those estimated from the absorption and desorption curves. The isothermal resorption diffusion coefficient also decreased with increasing spike temperature. It is proposed that thermal spiking induced a relaxation of the network but as the spike-temperature approaches the transition region of the wet polymer, further hydrolytically induced relaxation events become feasible.  相似文献

The crystallization of pure ZSM-12 phase was accomplished at Si/Al ratios ranging from 45 to 120 using tetraethylammonium bromide as the structure directing agent. The obtained samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, temperature programmed desorption of ammonia, and nitrogen adsorption–desorption measurements at 77 K, respectively. The well characterized samples were used to prepare Pt (0.5 wt%)/ZSM-12 hydroisomerization catalysts which were employed to perform n-hexadecane isomerization reaction. The catalysts were compared in terms of their activity, selectivity and product distribution at different conversion levels obtained through variation in temperature and residence times. Thus, obtained trend for product distribution over Pt/ZSM-12 system has been discussed in terms of framework Si/Al ratio to understand its role in determining the product selectivity. ZSM-12 with Si/Al ratio of 120 depicted the highest overall selectivity and favored mono-branching while those having Si/Al ratio of 45, 60 and 90 were found to favor mutlti-branching.  相似文献
