The combination of lithography and ion implantation is demonstrated to be a suitable method to prepare lateral multilayers. A laterally, compositionally, and magnetically modulated microscale pattern consisting of alternating Co (1.6 µm wide) and Co‐CoO (2.4 µm wide) lines has been obtained by oxygen ion implantation into a lithographically masked Au‐sandwiched Co thin film. Magnetoresistance along the lines (i.e., current and applied magnetic field are parallel to the lines) reveals an effective positive giant magnetoresistance (GMR) behavior at room temperature. Conversely, anisotropic magnetoresistance and GMR contributions are distinguished at low temperature (i.e., 10 K) since the O‐implanted areas become exchange coupled. This planar GMR is principally ascribed to the spatial modulation of coercivity in a spring‐magnet‐type configuration, which results in 180° Néel extrinsic domain walls at the Co/Co‐CoO interfaces. The versatility, in terms of pattern size, morphology, and composition adjustment, of this method offers a unique route to fabricate planar systems for, among others, spintronic research and applications.  相似文献

Miniaturization and energy consumption by computational systems remain major challenges to address. Optoelectronics based synaptic and light sensing provide an exciting platform for neuromorphic processing and vision applications offering several advantages. It is highly desirable to achieve single-element image sensors that allow reception of information and execution of in-memory computing processes while maintaining memory for much longer durations without the need for frequent electrical or optical rehearsals. In this work, ultra-thin (<3 nm) doped indium oxide (In2O3) layers are engineered to demonstrate a monolithic two-terminal ultraviolet (UV) sensing and processing system with long optical state retention operating at 50 mV. This endows features of several conductance states within the persistent photocurrent window that are harnessed to show learning capabilities and significantly reduce the number of rehearsals. The atomically thin sheets are implemented as a focal plane array (FPA) for UV spectrum based proof-of-concept vision system capable of pattern recognition and memorization required for imaging and detection applications. This integrated light sensing and memory system is deployed to illustrate capabilities for real-time, in-sensor memorization, and recognition tasks. This study provides an important template to engineer miniaturized and low operating voltage neuromorphic platforms across the light spectrum based on application demand.  相似文献

In order to compare the magnitudes and health impacts of arsenic and other toxic trace elements in well water, groundwater and hair samples were collected from three areas with different arsenic exposure scenarios in the Mekong River basin of Cambodia. Ampil commune in Kampong Cham province was selected as an uncontaminated area, Khsarch Andaet commune in Kratie province was selected as a moderately contaminated area, and Kampong Kong commune in Kandal Province was selected as an extremely contaminated area. Results of ICP-MS analyses of the groundwater samples revealed that As, Mn, Fe and Ba concentrations were significantly different among the three study areas (Kruskal-Wallis test, p < 0.0001). Out of 46 observed wells in the Kandal province study area, 100% detected As > 50 μg L−1 and Fe > 300 μg L−1; 52.17% had Mn > 400 μg L−1 and 73.91% found Ba > 700 μg L−1. In the Kratie province study area (n = 12), 25% of wells showed elevated arsenic levels above 10 μg L−1 and 25% had Mn > 400 μg L−1, whereas samples from Kampong Cham province study area (n = 18) were relatively clean, with As < 10 μg L−1. A health risk assessment model derived from the USEPA was applied to calculate individual risks resulting from drinking groundwater. Computational results indicated that residents from Kandal Province study area (n = 297) confronted significantly higher non-carcinogenic and carcinogenic risks than those in Kratie (n = 89) and Kampong Cham (n = 184) province study areas (Kruskal-Wallis test, p < 0.0001). 98.65% of respondents from the Kandal province study area were at risk for the potential non-cancer effect and an average cancer risk index was found to be 5 in 1000 exposure. The calculations also indicated that, in the Kratie province study area, 13.48% of respondents were affected by non-cancer health risks and 33.71% were threatened by cancer, whereas none of respondents in the Kampong Cham province study area appeared to have non-carcinogenic effect. Positively significant correlations of the arsenic content in scalp hair (Ash) with both arsenic levels in groundwater (Asw) (rs (304) = 0.757, p < 0.0001) and individual average daily doses (ADD) of arsenic (rs (304) = 0.763, p < 0.0001) undoubtedly indicated that arsenic accumulation in the bodies of Cambodia residents in the Mekong River basin was mainly through a groundwater drinking pathway. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first comprehensive report comparing individual health risk assessments of arsenic exposure through a groundwater drinking pathway to enriched arsenic levels from groundwater in the Mekong River basin, Cambodia. This study indicates that elevated arsenic concentrations in groundwater may lead to thousands of cases of arsenicosis in the near future if mitigating actions are not taken.  相似文献

The commercial steel AISI 1010 was coated with AISI 316L steel using Cathodic Arc Plasma Deposition (CAPD) technique. The coatings were deposited in vacuum and in the presence of nitrogen, acetylene and mixture of the two as reactive gases. The coatings were deposited as a function of time while other parameters remained constant. The coatings 0.75 to 1.3 μm thick were adherent and amorphous. The aqueous corrosion properties of the coated samples in 3.5 wt % NaCl solution were studied by Tafel, cyclic and potentiodynamic polarization measurements. The derived corrosion parameters were then compared among the various uncoated and coated samples. The study revealed that the coated samples were more corrosion resistant than the uncoated one. Similarly, the samples coated in the nitrogen + acetylene mixture atmosphere were more corrosion resistant than the samples coated in only nitrogen and acetylene atmospheres. The corrosion parameters were also compared as a function of coating time to ascertain best coating thickness.  相似文献

A novel experimental investigation of a solar cooling system in Madrid   总被引:3,自引:2,他引:3  
This paper reports novel experimental results derived through field testing of a part load solar energized cooling system for typical Spanish houses in Madrid during the summer period of 2003. Solar hot water was delivered by means of a 49.9 m2 array of flat-plate collectors to drive a single-effect (LiBr/H2O) absorption chiller of 35 kW nominal cooling capacity. Thermal energy was stored in a 2 m3 stratified hot water storage tank during hours of bright sunshine. Chilled water produced at the evaporator was supplied to a row of fan coil units and the heat of condensation and absorption was rejected by means of a forced draft cooling tower. Instantaneous, daily and period energy flows and energy balance in the installation is presented. System and absorption machine temperature profiles are given for a clear, hot and dry day's operation. Daily and period system efficiencies are given. Peak insolation of 969 W m−2 (at 12:30 solar time on 08/08/03) produced 5.13 kW of cooling at a solar to cooling conversion efficiency of 11%. Maximum cooling capacity was 7.5 kW. Cooling was provided for 8.67 h and the chiller required a threshold insolation of 711 W m−2 for start-up and 373 W m−2 for shut-down. A minimum hot water inlet temperature to the generator of 65 °C was required to commence cold generation, whereas at 81 °C, 6.4 kW of cooling (18.3% of nominal capacity) was produced. The absorption refrigeration machine operated within the generation and absorption temperature ranges of 57–67 and 32–36 °C, respectively. The measured maximum instantaneous, daily average and period average COP were 0.60 (at maximum capacity), 0.42 and 0.34, respectively. Energy flows in the system are represented on a novel area diagram. The results clearly demonstrate that the technology works best in dry and hot climatic conditions where large daily variations in relative humidity and dry bulb temperature prevail. This case study provides benchmark data for the assessment of other similar prototypes and for the validation of mathematical models.  相似文献

A programmable frequency divider with close-to-50% output duty-cycle, with a wide division ratio range, is presented. The proposed divider has also provisions for binary division ratio controls, and has demonstrated operation at frequencies as high as 3.5 GHz. With the above features, the proposed divider can be used in phase-locked loops, and is capable of driving various clocked circuits, which need different clock frequencies. The proposed divider has division ratios from 8 to 510, but it can easily be extended to higher ranges by simply adding more divider stages. The divider circuit has been realised in a 0.18-mum RF CMOS process. Test results show that the output duty-cycle is 50% when the division ratio is an even number. For odd division ratios the worst-case duty-cycle is 44.4% when the division ratio is 9. The output duty-cycle becomes closer to 50% when the division ratio is an increasing odd number. For each division ratio, the output duty-cycle remains constant for different chips, with different input frequencies from gigahertz down to kilohertz ranges, and with different power supply voltages.  相似文献

Residual NiO phase is generally detected in 0.9(KNbO3)–0.1(BaNi1/2Nb1/2O3-δ) (KBNNO) synthesized using NiO as a nickel precursor by solid-state reaction. In this work, NiO phase is found to exist in the form of the residual NiO particles with a size of 100-200 nm using energy dispersive X-ray elemental mapping. These NiO residual particles are eliminated by using nickel acetate as a nickel precursor and a 100% perovskite phase KBNNO is successfully synthesized at as low as 600°C temperature. Furthermore, using the two-step sintering technique, 100% relative density is achieved in this material. The nickel acetate–based KBNNO shows a robust ferromagnetism with the saturation magnetization of 11.42 memu/g and the remanent magnetization of 3.89 memu/g which is 38 times higher than that of previously reported value in NiO-based KBNNO. Thus, a highly pure and fully dense KBNNO ceramic with superior magnetic properties is obtained using nickel acetate and by the two-step sintering method. This is a key step forward in the processing of KBNNO and is likely to have a significant impact on other physical properties of this newly invented and promising photovoltaic perovskite material.  相似文献

Mining sequential patterns is an important research issue in data mining and knowledge discovery with broad applications. However, the existing sequential pattern mining approaches consider only binary frequency values of items in sequences and equal importance/significance values of distinct items. Therefore, they are not applicable to actually represent many real‐world scenarios. In this paper, we propose a novel framework for mining high‐utility sequential patterns for more real‐life applicable information extraction from sequence databases with non‐binary frequency values of items in sequences and different importance/significance values for distinct items. Moreover, for mining high‐utility sequential patterns, we propose two new algorithms: UtilityLevel is a high‐utility sequential pattern mining with a level‐wise candidate generation approach, and UtilitySpan is a high‐utility sequential pattern mining with a pattern growth approach. Extensive performance analyses show that our algorithms are very efficient and scalable for mining high‐utility sequential patterns.  相似文献

This paper reports on the development of a new closed-bore magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) compatible robotic system for image-guided prostatic interventions: ablation, brachytherapy, and biopsy. The first stage of development addresses only laser-based ablation. The robot actuators are ultrasonic motors. The first physical robot prototype was manufactured and tested in the MRI with an ablation tool. The tests covered magnetic resonance (MR) compatibility, tool visualization, and robot control accuracy. Robot tip position error is less than 2 mm at points closer than 0.5 m to the isocenter. A method to control ultrasonic motors for MRI-compatibility is reported.  相似文献
