Significant axial variation of radial uniformity is observed in Si-ingot neutron transmutation doping in the flux screening method, and leads to non-uniform resistivity distribution for a certain part of Si-ingot. This axial variation of radial uniformity is caused by the installation of a partial neutron screen which decreases the reaction rates differently in the center and surface at the region not surrounded by the partial neutron screen. For the improvement of the specific distribution of radial uniformity in the axial direction, a new concept of axial reflector is introduced to partly change the reaction rate at a certain region of Si-ingot, and neutron irradiation experiments are carried out at the heavy water neutron irradiation facility in the Kyoto University Research Reactor. Based on the experimental and numerical results, the new axial reflector is proved to be effective for improving the axial variation of radial uniformity.  相似文献

A neutron-scanning device was developed for measuring accurate neutron densities of BWR high burn-up fuels up to 65 GWd tU−1. Characteristic test of this device was done with a 252Cf source and adopted to measure axial distributions of neutron densities of BWR spent fuels with various enrichments (2.0–3.4%), which had been irradiated up to 60 GWd tU−1 at Fukushima Daini Nuclear Power Station Unit 2(2F-2). We found the measured neutron densities were proportional to about fourth power of the corresponding burn-up values. The neutron densities calculated by the ORIGEN2.1 code and various cross section libraries showed good agreements with the measured ones in profile and absolute value except for BWR-UE file mainly based on ENDF/B-IV. The BS240J32 library based on JENDL3.2 was the best among the investigated libraries.  相似文献

We measured the lowest velocity (velocity threshold) for discriminating motion direction in relative and uniform motion stimuli, varying the contrast and the spatial frequency of the stimulus gratings. The results showed significant differences in the effects of contrast and spatial frequency on the threshold, as well as on the absolute threshold level between the two motion conditions, except when the contrast was 1% or lower. Little effect of spatial frequency was found for uniform motion, whereas a bandpass property with a peak at approximately 5 cycles per degree was found for relative motion. It was also found that contrast had little effect on uniform motion, whereas the threshold decreased with increases in contrast up to 85% for relative motion. These differences cannot be attributed to possible differences in eye movements between the relative and the uniform motion conditions, because the spatial-frequency characteristics differed in the two conditions even when the presentation duration was short enough to prevent eye movements. The differences also cannot be attributed to detecting positional changes, because the velocity threshold was not determined by the total distance of the stimulus movements. These results suggest that there are two different motion pathways: one that specializes in relative motion and one that specializes in uniform or global motion. A simulation showed that the difference in the response functions of the two possible pathways accounts for the differences in the spatial-frequency and contrast dependency of the velocity threshold.  相似文献

Thermotropic liquid-crystalline compounds were applied as membrane materials (membrane solvent and neutral carrier) for neutral carrier-type ion sensors to investigate how the ordered arrangement of neutral carriers affects the property of the resulting ion sensors. Nematic, smectic, and cholesteric liquid-crystalline compounds were used as the membrane solvents and crown ether derivatives with a molecular structure similar to the liquid-crystalline solvent as the K+ neutral carriers. Polarized IR spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction experiments confirmed that the highly ordered arrangement of membrane components was retained in the liquid-crystal-based ion-sensing membranes containing a neutral carrier and a lipophilic salt. The ordered arrangement of neutral carriers in the liquid-crystalline membranes enhanced the ion selectivity significantly, probably due to the efficient cooperation of two adjacent crown ether moieties in the highly ordered and aggregated state.  相似文献

Abstract— A novel reflective display [Quick‐Response Liquid Powder Display (QR‐LPD®)], has been developed. This paper‐like display has the advantages of outstanding image stability, easy viewing, low‐power consumption, and a high‐response time. QR‐LPD® will be promoted, initially, for use as electronic price‐tag displays for merchandise. In addition, QR‐LPD® is suitable for flexible display applications because it does not require TFT arrays or a high‐temperature process while maintaining an excellent paper‐like image as well as glass‐type display compatibility.  相似文献

Abstract— The synthesis of carbon‐nanotube (CNT) field emitters for FEDs by thermal chemical vapor deposition (CVD) and their structural and emission characterization are described. Multi‐walled nanotubes (MWNTs) were grown on patterned metal‐base electrodes by thermal CVD, and the grown CNTs formed a network structured layer covering the surfaces of the metal electrode uniformly, which realized uniform distribution of electron emission. A technique for growing narrow MWNTs was also developed in order to reduce the driving voltage. The diameter of MWNT depends on the growth temperature, and it has changed from 40 nm at the low temperature (675°C) to 10–15 nm at the high temperature (900–1000°C). Moreover, narrower MWNTs were grown by using the metal‐base electrode covered with a thin alumina layer and a metal catalyst layer. Double‐walled nanotubes (DWNTs) were also observed among narrow MWNTs. The emission from the narrow CNTs showed a low turn‐on electric field of 1.5 V/μm at the as‐grown layer.  相似文献

Spatial indexing of high-dimensional data based on relative approximation   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
We propose a novel index structure, the A-tree (approximation tree), for similarity searches in high-dimensional data. The basic idea of the A-tree is the introduction of virtual bounding rectangles (VBRs) which contain and approximate MBRs or data objects. VBRs can be represented quite compactly and thus affect the tree configuration both quantitatively and qualitatively. First, since tree nodes can contain a large number of VBR entries, fanout becomes large, which increases search speed. More importantly, we have a free hand in arranging MBRs and VBRs in the tree nodes. Each A-tree node contains an MBR and its children VBRs. Therefore, by fetching an A-tree node, we can obtain information on the exact position of a parent MBR and the approximate position of its children. We have performed experiments using both synthetic and real data sets. For the real data sets, the A-tree outperforms the SR-tree and the VA-file in all dimensionalities up to 64 dimensions, which is the highest dimension in our experiments. Additionally, we propose a cost model for the A-tree. We verify the validity of the cost model for synthetic and real data sets. Edited by T. Sellis. The trinuclear centers in Rhus vernicifera laccase and Cucumis sativus ascorbate oxidase have been studied by EPR spectroscopy and magnetic susceptibility measurements over the wide range of 5 K to 300 K. The EPR spectra showed that type II copper receives increasing tetrahedral distortion with raising temperature. Magnetic susceptibilities of laccase showed that both of type I and type II coppers are almost fully paramagnetic since the antiferromagnetic interaction between type III coppers is extremely strong from 5 K to 300 K. On the other hand, the effective magnetic moment of ascorbate oxidase is contributed by ca. 1.7 Cu2+ even below ca. 100 K, since type II Cu is partly in the reduced form. The effective magnetic moment continuously increased with raising temperature because the antiferromagnetic interaction between type III coppers is not as strong as in the case of laccase. The simulation of the SQUID measurement results suggested that the conformational change of the ascorbate oxidase molecule caused the temperature dependence of the antiferromagnetic interaction. The type II Cu EPR signals in laccase and ascorbate oxidase were conspicuously broadened with raising temperature because of the increasing contribution of the triplet state by type III Cu's and/or of the rapid relaxation which finally led to only ca. 30% detection of the type II Cu signals at room temperature. The stepwise binding of azide to the trinuclear center made one of type III Cu's to be EPR detectable. SQUID measurements indicated that only one Cu in the trinuclear center is paramagnetic and other two Cu's are antiferromagnetically coupled for both of the one- and two-azide bound forms. The binding mode of azide to the trinuclear center was discussed based on some models.  相似文献

The degree of fat hydrogenation and the trans fatty acid content of the diet affect the fatty acid composition of membranes, and the amount and the activity of some membrane enzymes. We describe the effects of four isocaloric diets containing either sunflower oil (SO, 0% trans), fish oil (FO, 0.5% trans), partially hydrogenated fish oil (PHFO, 30% trans), or highly hydrogenated fish oil (HHFO, 3.6% trans) as fat sources on the lipid composition and the trans fatty acid content of rat hepatic microsomes. We also describe the effect of these diets on the cytochrome P-450 content and on the aminopyrine N-demethylase, aniline hydroxylase, and UDP-glucuronyl transferase microsomal activities. Cytochrome P-450 content was dependent on the degree of unsaturation of the diet, being higher for the FO-containing diet and lower for the HHFO diet. Aminopyrine N-demethylase activity also correlated with the degree of unsaturation of the diet as did the cytochrome P-450 content did (FO > SO > PHFO > HHFO). Aniline hydroxylase activity appeared to be independent of the degree of unsaturation of the dietary fat, but correlated with the trans fatty acid content of the diet, which was also reflected in the trans content of the microsomal membranes. UDP-glucuronyl transferase activity was higher for the FO-containing diet than for the SO diet, showing intermediate values after the PHFO and HHFO diets.  相似文献

This paper describes the microcleaved facets (MCF) process developed for AlGaAs/GaAs laser fabrication which can avoid the previous substrate cleavage and therefore be applicable to preparing both discrete short-cavity lasers and optoelectronic integrated circuits (OEIC's). An AlGaAs/GaAs double heterostructure ridge-waveguide laser with an extremely short cavity length, namely 20 μm, was first realized by this process. A threshold current as low as 20 mA and a single longitudinal mode lasing were achieved. The usefulness of this process for integrating a laser and a monitoring photodiode on a GaAs substrate is also demonstrated.  相似文献
