Titanium dioxide (TiO2) bulk with pure anatase phases was fabricated by an explosive compaction technique using an underwater shockwave. Dynamic shock pressure of 6 GPa was used to consolidate anatase TiO2 powders. Its microstructural, crystalline structural and photocatalytic characteristics were observed and measured by various techniques, such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and photocatalytic activity measurement system. It was confirmed that the relative density of anatase TiO2 compact is about 96% (3.73 g/cm3) of the theoretical density (3.89 g/cm3) and a strong surface bonding between particles is formed by a shock energy. In X-ray diffraction analysis, high purity anatase phases, broadened peaks due to lattice defects and decreased crystallite size were found. For the photocatalytic activities, the anatase TiO2 compact was quite excellent compared to the commercial sintered TiO2 bulk.  相似文献

There is a great deal of interest in proteins that can bind covalently to target molecules, as they allow unambiguous experiments by tight binding to molecules of interest. Here, we report the generation of proteins that undergo covalent labeling with small molecules through in vitro selection by using ribosome display. Selection was performed from a mutant library of the WW domain with a biotinylated peptide as its binding target, in which the biotin and the peptide are connected by a disulfide bond. After five rounds of selection, we identified mutants carrying a particular cysteine mutation. The binding target reacted specifically with the selected mutant, even in the presence of other proteins, and resulted in the generation of biotin- or peptide-labeled WW domains by thiol-disulfide exchange. When the mutant was fused to a protein of interest, the fusion protein was also labeled with biotin. Thus, the characteristics of the selected mutant should be suitable as a tag sequence that can be covalently labeled with small synthetic molecules. These results indicate that the rapid and efficient generation of such proteins is possible by ribosome display.  相似文献

In this study, complexes composed of poly-l-tyrosine (pLT) and single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) were produced and the dispersibility of the pLT/SWCNT complexes in water by measuring the ζ potential of the complexes and the turbidity of the solution were investigated. It is found that the absolute value of the ζ potential of the pLT/SWCNT complexes is as high as that of SWCNTs modified with double-stranded DNA (dsDNA) and that the complexes remain stably dispersed in the water at least for two weeks. Thermogravimetry analysis (TGA) and visualization of the surface structures of pLT/SWCNT complexes using an atomic force microscope (AFM) were also carried out.  相似文献

Wireless mesh networks (WMNs) have attracted much attention due to their low up-front cost, easy network deployment, stable topology, robustness, reliable coverage, and so forth. These advantages are suitable for the disaster recovery applications in disaster areas, where WMNs can be advantageously utilized to restore network collapse after the disaster. In this paper, based on a new network infrastructure for WMNs, to guarantee high network performance, we focus on the issue of throughput optimization to improve the performance for WMNs. Owing to selecting different mesh router (MR) as the gateway will lead to different network throughput capacity, we propose a novel gateway selection technique to rapidly select the optimal MR as the gateway, in order to maximize the network throughput. In addition, we take into account the traffic distribution for the MR to eliminate traffic congestion in our method. The performance of our proposed method is evaluated by both numerical and simulated analysis. The simulation results demonstrate that the gateway selection method is effective and efficient to optimize the throughput for WMNs.  相似文献

This study tried to apply biomass fuel to clean burner combustion under high load conditions by water addition. A newly developed injector mixes fuel rapidly with water inside of the injector with support of atomizing air. The mixture composed of three-fluid is injected as spray into a flame stabilizer of burner. Investigation of emission performance of this injector shows that the internally rapid mixing type of injector is hopeful technique to introduce water into burner combustion. Combustion by this injector emits exceedingly less particulate matters at high load. NOx emission is strongly dependent on water flow rate.  相似文献

A novel and simple technique for gain flatness control is reported for gain shifted, long wavelength band (L-band) erbium-doped fiber amplifiers (EDFAs). Utilization of the backward traveling amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) in the C-band is analyzed with respect to controlling the gain tilt observed in the L-band when the total input power of the EDFA is changed. It is shown that a gain flatness of 0.6 dB/30 nm can be achieved over a dynamic range greater than 10 dB by using the backward traveling ASE power in the C-band as a monitor to adjust the copropagating pump power of the EDFA. The proposed technique eliminates the need to extract the output signals from the monitored ASE signal, demonstrating the suitability and simplicity of the proposed technique for wavelength division multiplexed applications  相似文献

We present a method through which domestic service robots can comprehend natural language instructions. For each action type, a variety of natural language expressions can be used, for example, the instruction, ‘Go to the kitchen’ can also be expressed as ‘Move to the kitchen.’ We are of the view that natural language instructions are intuitive and, therefore, constitute one of the most user-friendly robot instruction methods. In this paper, we propose a method that enables robots to comprehend instructions spoken by a human user in his/her natural language. The proposed method combines action-type classification, which is based on a support vector machine, and slot extraction, which is based on conditional random fields, both of which are required in order for a robot to execute an action. Further, by considering the co-occurrence relationship between the action type and the slots along with the speech recognition score, the proposed method can avoid degradation of the robot’s comprehension accuracy in noisy environments, where inaccurate speech recognition can be problematic. We conducted experiments using a Japanese instruction data-set collected using a questionnaire-based survey. Experimental results show that the robot’s comprehension accuracy is higher in a noisy environment using our method than when using a baseline method with only a 1-best speech recognition result.  相似文献

On March 11, 2011, a massive earthquake (magnitude 9.0) and accompanying tsunami hit the Tohoku region of eastern Japan. Since then, the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plants have been facing a crisis due to the loss of all power that resulted from the meltdown accidents. Three buildings housing nuclear reactors were seriously damaged from hydrogen explosions, and, in one building, the nuclear reactions became out of control. It was too dangerous for humans to enter the buildings to inspect the damage because radioactive materials were also being released. In response to this crisis, it was decided that mobile rescue robots would be used to carry out surveillance missions. The mobile rescue robots needed could not be delivered to the Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) until various technical issues were resolved. Those issues involved hardware reliability, communication functions, and the ability of the robots' electronic components to withstand radiation. Additional sensors and functionality that would enable the robots to respond effectively to the crisis were also needed. Available robots were therefore retrofitted for the disaster reponse missions. First, the radiation tolerance of the electronic componenets was checked by means of gamma ray irradiation tests, which were conducted using the facilities of the Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA). The commercial electronic devices used in the original robot systems operated long enough (more than 100 h at a 10% safety margin) in the assumed environment (100 mGy/h). Next, the usability of wireless communication in the target environment was assessed. Such tests were not possible in the target environment itself, so they were performed at the Hamaoka Daiichi Nuclear Power Plants, which are similar to the target environment. As previously predicted, the test results indicated that robust wireless communication would not be possible in the reactor buildings. It was therefore determined that a wired communication device would need to be installed. After TEPCO's official urgent mission proposal was received, the team mounted additional devices to facilitate the installation of a water gauge in the basement of the reactor buildings to determine flooding levels. While these preparations were taking place, prospective robot operators from TEPCO trained in a laboratory environment. Finally, one of the robots was delivered to the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plants on June 20, 2011, where it performed a number of important missions inside the buildings. In this paper, the requirements for the exploration mission in the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plants are presented, the implementation is discussed, and the results of the mission are reported.  相似文献

Mechanical strengthening of a Si cantilever by applying KOH wet etching was investigated. Two kinds of Si cantilever specimens having the different crystallographic orientations of the sidewall surfaces, i.e., Si{100} and Si{110}, were fabricated from the same SOI wafer by a Bosch process. The typical height and pitch of the scalloping formed on the sidewall were 248 and 917 nm, respectively. A 50 % KOH (40 °C) chemical wet etching was applied to increase the fracture stress of the Si cantilever. The fracture stress in the both of Si{100} and Si{110} cantilevers increased with the advance of the etching. The obtained maximum fracture stress in Si{100} and Si{110} were 4.2 and 3.7 GPa, respectively. Sidewall surface of the cantilever was analyzed to investigate the mechanical strengthening of Si cantilever by wet etching. The etched surface crystalline was analyzed by the transmission electron microscope (TEM), and confirmed that the thickness of the affected flow layer was less than 10 nm from the obtained TEM image. Then the change of the surface roughness by the KOH etching was analyzed by the atomic force microscope. The surface was smoothened with the advance of the KOH etching. The roughness value of Ra in Si{100} and Si{110} decreased to 12.1 and 37.7 nm, respectively.  相似文献
