Highly conducting polyaniline (PANI)–multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) nanocomposites were prepared by in situ polymerization. The FTIR and XRD show systematic shifting of the characteristic bands and peaks of PANI, with the increase in MWCNT phase, suggesting significant interaction between the phases. The SEM and TEM pictures show thick and uniform coating of PANI over surface of individual MWCNT. Based on observed morphological features in SEM, the probable formation mechanism of these composites has been proposed. The electrical conductivity of PANI–MWCNT composite (19.7 S cm?1) was even better than MWCNT (19.1 S cm?1) or PANI (2.0 S cm?1). This can be ascribed to the synergistic effect of two complementing phases (i.e. PANI and MWCNT). The absorption dominated total shielding effectiveness (SE) of ?27.5 to ?39.2 dB of these composites indicates the usefulness of these materials for microwave shielding in the Ku-band (12.4–18.0 GHz). These PANI coated MWCNTs with large aspect ratio are also proposed as hybrid conductive fillers in various thermoplastic matrices, for making structurally strong microwave shields.  相似文献

The article describes the synthesis and characterization of N‐aryl itaconimide monomers such as: N‐(p‐chlorophenyl) itaconimide (PI)/N‐(m‐chlorophenyl) itaconimide (MI)/N‐(o‐chlorophenyl) itaconimide (OI) and its copolymerization behavior with MMA. The homopolymers and copolymers of N‐aryl itaconimides and methyl methacrylate (MMA, M2) were synthesized by varying the mol fraction of N‐aryl itaconimides in the initial feed from 0.1 to 0.5 using azobisisobutyronitrile (AIBN) as an initiator and tetrahydrofuran (THF) as the solvent. Copolymer composition was determined using 1H‐NMR spectroscopy [by taking the ratio of intensities of signals due to ? OCH3 of MMA (δ = 3.59 ppm) and the aromatic proton (δ = 7.2–7.5 ppm) of N‐aryl itaconimides] and percent nitrogen content. The reactivity ratios were found to be r1 = 1.33 and r2 = 0.36 (PI‐MMA) r1 = 1.15 and r2 = 0.32 (MI‐MMA) and r1 = 0.81 and r2 = 0.35 (OI‐MMA). Molecular weight as determined using high‐performance liquid chromatography decreased with increasing mol fraction of itaconimides in copolymers. All the polymers had a polydisperstivity index in the range of 1.5–2.6.Thermal characterization was done using differential scanning calorimetry and dynamic thermogravimetry in nitrogen atmosphere. Incorporation of these N‐aryl itaconimides in PMMA backbone resulted in an improvement in glass transition temperature (Tg) and thermal stability. The behavior of superconducting transition temperature TC in superconducting/ferromagnetic (S/F) multilayers as a function of different layer thicknesses and for varying magnetic moment μB of the F layer atoms is studied. Multilayer structures consist of five bilayers of constant superconducting Nb layer thickness of 400 Å and Fe of 6 and 24 Å each. The analysis of the magnetization data revealed that for tFe=6 Å, the Fe layer is non-magnetic. The interpretation of the observed TC behavior is attributed to the change of the interaction of the cooper pairs with this layer at the onset of ferromagnetism for tFe=6 Å. The hysteresis curve recorded under isothermal conditions at 4.5 K for [Nb (400 Å)/Fe (6 Å)]5 multilayers shows the usual MH hysteresis behavior which is typical of a hard type-II superconductor exhibiting an irreversibility field Hirr of 3.5 kOe with substantial pinning at lower field. In addition, [Nb(400 Å)/Fe(6 Å)]5 multilayer displays anomalous behavior in the form of paramagnetic peak in the superconducting state just below the transition temperature TC=6.25 K.  相似文献

A DNA fragment with homology to Delta6-desaturases from borage and cyanobacteria was isolated after polymerase chain reaction amplification of Mortierella alpina cDNA with oligonucleotide primers corresponding to the conserved regions of known Delta6-desaturase genes. This fragment was used as a probe to isolate a cDNA clone with an open reading frame encoding 446 amino acids from a M. alpina library. Expression of this open reading frame from an inducible promoter in Saccharomyces cerevisiae in the presence of various substrates revealed that the recombinant product had Delta5-desaturase activity. The effects of growth and induction conditions as well as host strain on activity of the recombinant Delta5-desaturase in S. cerevisiae were evaluated. Expression of the M. alpina Delta5-desaturase cDNA in transgenic canola seeds resulted in the production of taxoleic acid (Delta5,9-18:2) and pinolenic acid (Delta5,9,12-18:3), which are the Delta5-desaturation products of oleic and linoleic acids, respectively.  相似文献

alpha-Trinositol (alpha T), or Ins(1,2,6)P3, is a semisynthetic inositol trisphosphate produced commercially by the partial degradation of phytic acid with phytase. The molecular targets mediating the mechanism of action of this novel anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antivasoconstrictive drug are unknown. A new photoaffinity analogue, 4-[3H]BZDC-alpha T, has been prepared in which the [3H]-p-benzoyldihydrocinnamoyl ([3H]BZDC) photophore is tethered through an O-(5-aminopentanoyl) linkage to the 4-OH of alpha T. Photoaffinity labeling experiments with two human tissues, umbilical cord vascular smooth muscle cells and platelet membranes, revealed proteins that were selectively labeled by 4-[3H]BZDC-alpha T. Thus, co-incubation with alpha T but not with Ins(1,3,4,5)P4 during photolysis competitively displaced labeling of a 55 kDa platelet protein. In vascular epithelial cells, alpha T and Ins(1,3,4,5)P4 both displaced labeling of a 55 and 43 kDa proteins. The identification of putative protein targets for alpha T in smooth vascular tissue may have important implications in elucidation of the mechanism of action of this unusual drug.  相似文献

Jaundice in patients of advanced carcinoma of the gallbladder requires palliation for the distressing symptoms of pruritus and cholangitis. Intrahepatic segment III duct cholangiojejunostomy is a means for alleviating the obstruction with malignant porta block. The authors reviewed their experience with this procedure in 48 patients of carcinoma of the gallbladder. All patients had jaundice; pruritus was present in 44 (92%) and cholangitis in 14 (29%). The level of obstruction was determined preoperatively by percutaneous transhepatic cholangiography. In 32 patients the block was below the level of the bifurcation of the right and left ducts, and 16 patients had a block involving the confluence, isolating the two lobes of the liver. Following segment III cholangiojejunostomy, pruritus was relieved in all and cholangitis in 86% of patients. At the end of 6 weeks a significant fall in serum bilirubin and alkaline phosphatase levels was seen with both types of hilar obstruction. Varying degrees of pain relief was also noted in 75% of patients. Segment III biliary bypass is an effective, one-time, reliable means of palliation for carcinoma of the gallbladder with hilar obstruction. Its efficacy appears to depend on the duration and depth of the jaundice and on the anatomy of the biliary ductal system in the left hemiliver rather than on the type of hilar obstruction.  相似文献

An in-vitro system for evaluating Nifedipine sustained release formulations has been developed. Two systems were evaluated to simulate sink conditions and correlate the system with flow through dissolution system in mechanism. For the purpose of evaluation two commercial brands were studied. The acidic biphasic system was found to be good for in-vitro dissolution rate evaluation of sustained release nifedipine tablets. It can be successfully utilized for routine quality control work.  相似文献

Radio-over-free-space (Ro-FSO) technology is a combination of free-space optics (FSO) and radio over fiber. It plays a significant role in radio-frequency signal transmission in mobile network communication through high-speed optical carrier without any licensing and costly cables. Photonic crystal fibers also play a significant role to deliver data at faster rate for short haul communication. This paper, for the first time to the author’s best knowledge, utilizes mode division multiplexing in conjunction with solid core PCFs to transmit \(2 \times 2.5\) Gbps–5 GHz data over 2.5 km free-space link. The results are reported in terms of bit error rate, spatial profiles of received modes, mode spectrum of modes and eye diagrams. Furthermore, proposed PCF-MDM-Ro-FSO transmission system is also reported under the impact of atmospheric turbulences.  相似文献

The growth of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) becomes the backbone of all smart IoT applications. Deploying reliable WSNs is particularly significant for critical Internet of Things (IoT) applications, such as health monitoring, industrial and military applications. In such applications, the WSN’s inability to perform its necessary tasks and degrading QoS can have profound consequences and can not be tolerated. Thus, deploying reliable WSNs to achieve better Quality of Service (QoS) support is a relatively new topic gaining more interest. Consequently, deploying a large number of nodes while simultaneously optimizing various measures is regarded as an NP-hard problem. In this paper, a Grey wolf-based optimization technique is used for node deployment that guarantees a given set of QoS metrics, namely maximizing coverage, connectivity and minimizing the overall cost of the network. The aim is to find the optimum number of appropriate positions for sensor nodes deployment under various p-coverage and q-connectivity configurations. The proposed approach offers an efficient wolf representation scheme and formulates a novel multi-objective fitness function. A rigorous simulation and statistical analysis are performed to prove the proposed scheme’s efficiency. Also, a comparative analysis is being carried with existing state-of-the-art algorithms, namely PSO, GA, and Greedy approach, and the efficiency of the proposed method improved by more than 11%, 14%, and 20%, respectively, in selecting appropriate positions with desired coverage and connectivity.
