In wireless communications, both control information and payload (user-data) are concurrently transmitted and required to be successfully recovered. This paper focuses on block-level detection, which is applicable for detecting transmitted control information, particularly when this information is selected or chosen from a finite set of information that are known at both transmitting and receiving devices. Using an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing architecture, this paper investigates and evaluates the performance of a time-domain decision criterion in comparison with a form of Maximum Likelihood (ML) estimation method. Unlike the ML method, the proposed time-domain detection technique requires no channel estimation as it uses the correlation (in the time-domain) that exists between the received and the transmitted selective information as a means of detection. In comparison with the ML method, results show that the proposed method offers improved detection performance, particularly when the control information consists of at least 16. However, the implementation of the proposed method requires a slightly increased number of mathematical computations.  相似文献

Charge transport and gas sensing characteristics of cobalt phthalocyanine films deposited along (ATB) and perpendicular (PTB) to the natural twin boundaries of (0 0 1) LaAlO3 substrate have been investigated. The charge carrier mobility of ATB films (∼5 cm2 V−1 s−1) is five orders of magnitude higher compared to that of PTB films (∼7 × 10−5 cm2 V−1 s−1), suggesting that twin boundaries acts like a template for ordering of molecules. The ATB films on exposure to ammonia showed a reversible increase of resistance, with fast response and recovery. In contrast PTB films showed same sensitivity, but exhibits base resistance drift along with sluggish response.  相似文献

This paper describes how the EPparallel tool splits a single annual simulation into 12 simulations of one month each and runs them in parallel. The paper also describes the methodology to prepare input files, enable file sharing between nodes, collate results generated by the nodes, and ensure quality check on the simulations. The EPparallel tool uses Message Passing Interface library and runs on Linux. The tool has been tested on 16 commercial reference buildings over 16 US weather files. The results of these 256 runs which include the run times, computing time overheads, speed gains and accuracy of results are presented in this paper. The speed gain ranged from 2.9×to 7.8×and deviation (percentage of output values obtained in parallel simulation which were off by more than 1% as compared to output values obtained in annual simulation) ranged from 0% to 4%.  相似文献

The usage of hybrid natural composites has surged in almost all fields of engineering due to their advantage of possessing high strength to weight ratio and biodegradability. This paper deals with the fabrication and investigation of mechanical and thermal properties of banana-kenaf glass fiber reinforced epoxy composite which is relatively a newer hybrid composite. In this study, the composite is fabricated by a hand layup process with different fiber orientations and also with different volume fractions. The composites are prepared with five different proportions of banana-kenaf fibers. Various mechanical and thermal tests are conducted and the result shows that the hybrid composite in which fibers are arranged at 450 inclination has better properties than the others. Also, failure morphology analysis is done using a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) through which the internal structures of the tested specimen are analysed.  相似文献

The use of MgO impregnated with KOH as heterogeneous catalysts for the transesterification of mutton fat with methanol has been evaluated. The mutton fat (fat) with methanol (1:22 M ratio) at 65 °C showed > 98% conversion to biodiesel with 4 wt% of MgO–KOH-201 (MgO impregnated with 20 wt% of KOH) in 20 min. The reaction conditions optimized were; the amount of KOH impregnation (5–20 wt%), the amount of catalyst (1.5–4 wt%, catalyst/fat), the reaction temperature (45–65 °C), fat to methanol molar ratio (1:11–1:22) and the effect of addition of water/oleic acid/palmitic acid (upto 1 wt%). Although, transesterification of fresh fat (moisture content 0.02 wt% and free fatty acids 0.002 wt%) with methanol in the presence of KOH (homogenous catalyst) resulted in the complete conversion to biodiesel, but in the presence of additional 1 wt% of either free fatty acid or moisture content, formation of soap was observed. The MgO–KOH-20 catalyst was found to tolerate additional 1 wt% of either the moisture or FFAs in the fat.  相似文献

BaTi1−xFexO3 compositions (for x = 0, 0.1, and 0.2) were prepared via a solid-state reaction route. The presence of iron (Fe) in barium titanate (BaTiO3) eventually decreased the energy bandgap; thus, its utilization for water cleaning application through photocatalysis process was explored (using methylene blue [MB] dye as an indicative pollutant in water). Characterization of the synthesized powder was performed through scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, Raman spectroscopy, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The bandgap of the synthesized powder was calculated as 3.2, 2.12, and 1.67 eV for BaTi1−xFexO3 compositions (for x = 0, 0.1, and 0.2), respectively. BaTi0.8Fe0.2O3 powder showed excellent results, and ∼71% of the MB dye (∼5 mg/L concentrated) was degraded using the photocatalysis process under visible light. To check the potentiality of BaTi1−xFexO3 compositions (for x = 0, 0.1, and 0.2), the photocatalysis process was carried out by changing the concentration of MB dye (2.5–10 mg/L with a step of 2.5 mg/L) and the amount of BaTi0.8Fe0.2O3 powder (0.05–0.2 g with a step of 0.05 g) for ∼5-mg/L concentrated MB dye. The treated water was further used as a growth parameter and phytotoxicity analysis through germination index on the wheat seeds. Lastly, the BaTi1−xFexO3 compositions (for x = 0, 0.1, and 0.2) were explored for water cleaning applications under real-time solar irradiation.  相似文献

A facile microwave‐assisted one‐pot synthesis of sodium carboxymethylagarose and calcium carboxymethylagarose from Gracilaria dura agarose (Ag) has been described. The process is user friendly, and the highest degree of substitution was obtained within 15 min compared with the conventional method, which requires more than 3 h. Solubility and gelling behavior of the modified Ag products were found to be dependent on degree of substitution of the products. The characterizations were done by using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, 1H‐ and 13C‐nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, scanning electron microscopy, Inductively coupled plasma spectrophotometry (ICP), rheology, conductometer analysis, and DNA gel electrophoresis. These agarose derivatives were easily soluble in water and exhibited low thermal hysteresis, improved conductivity, and improved the DNA resolution ability of the parent G. dura Ag hydrogels. These hydrogels may have potential applications in the areas including electrochemical devices, microbiology, biomedical, and pharmaceuticals fields. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Appl. Polym.
