An ab initio informed rate theory framework for a multicomponent system is developed and used to model radiation induced amorphization in β-SiC. Based on the published modeling and experimental studies we propose three possible energy landscapes (ELs) for defect recombination in SiC. We demonstrate that defect ELs have a dramatic effect on the shape of the dose to amorphization vs. temperature curve and on the critical temperature to amorphization Tcr. In the no-barrier EL model, Tcr is correlated with the mobility of silicon interstitials, while in the recombination and trapping models Tcr is governed by the rate of defect recombination. We conclude that both the defect migration barrier and the defect recombination barrier are key parameters to consider when modeling radiation resistance of SiC, and possibly of other multi-component covalent materials.  相似文献

In this study the reactivity of cellulose with new solvent born preparations containing organosilanes, alkyd resin and natural oil was analysed. Structural analysis of cellulose after reaction with organosilanes and after extraction was performed using Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). In IR spectra the analyzed bands included 1250 cm−1 responsible for vibrations of the SiC group and 800 cm−1 responsible for vibrations of SiC and/or SiO groups. These bands are characteristic of silicon bonds with atoms of carbon and oxygen originating from the methoxy groups found in organosilanes. The presence of these bands in the spectra proves the occurrence of a reaction between cellulose and organosilanes. The concentration of silicon was determined by AAS in cellulose after reaction with preparations and after extraction.  相似文献

Hydrophilic phytochemicals and antioxidant capacities of eight commercially grown native Australian fruits were determined. Kakadu plum (Terminalia ferdinandiana) contained a 6-fold higher level of total phenolic compounds and quandong (Santalum acuminatum) a 1.9-fold higher level of total phenolic compounds (TP, Folin–Ciocalteu assay) than blueberry (Vaccinum sp., cv. Biloxi). Both fruits displayed superior oxygen radical-scavenging capacity (ORAC-H assay) that was, respectively 4.1-fold and 6.5-fold of that of blueberry. The total reducing capacity (TRC; ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP) assay) of Kakadu plum and quandong exceeded the TRC of blueberry, respectively, 13.1- and 2.3-times. The primary sources of antioxidant capacities in the evaluated fruits were phenolic acids (benzoic and cinnamic) and flavonoids (flavonols, flavanones and anthocyanins) tentatively detected by liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LC–PDA–MS/MS). A high level of vitamin C was recorded for Kakadu plum and Australian citrus fruits. The major organic acids detected were citric and malic acid.  相似文献

A multiresidue method for the analysis of over 140 multiclass pesticides in fruiting vegetables, based on quick, easy, cheap, effective, rugged, and safe (QuEChERS) sample preparation procedure followed by gas chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (GC-MS/MS), was established. In the validation study, the overall recoveries from spiked samples were 102?±?7, 95?±?7, and 95?±?7 % with RSD values of 7?±?3, 7?±?4, and 7?±?3 % at the spiking levels of 0.01, 0.05, and 0.5 mg kg?1, respectively, demonstrating fitness for purpose of the method. The limit of quantification (LOQ) was 0.01 mg kg?1 for more than 90 % of the target compounds. The analysis of over 300 samples of tomatoes, sweet peppers, and cucumbers was carried out in 2006–2014. Of these samples, 52 % contained pesticide residues but the results of the assessment of dietary exposure supported the conclusion that the presence of pesticide residues was unlikely to have a negative effect on the health of consumers. Although some of the pesticides detected in years 2006–2009 are no longer approved in the European Union member countries (namely endosulfan, oxadixyl, procymidone, propargite, and tolylfluanid), the consumer dietary exposure was low and did not exceed 12 % of the acceptable daily intake (ADI) considering both adults’ and children’s diet. Regarding short-term exposure (acute), in only one case of procymidone in sweet pepper, the acute reference dose (ARfD) for children was exceeded by 139.6 % of the ARfD.  相似文献

Frozen yogurt is a type of dairy product that is considered to be a more healthful alternative to conventional ice cream due to its lower fat content and the presence of viable lactic acid bacteria. Lactose-free products are a growing trend in the dairy industry, and lactose-free yogurts and ice creams can both be found on the market. However, lactose-free frozen yogurt has not yet reached the market. In this study, we aimed to investigate the effect of adding κ-carrageenan (0.05, 0.1, and 0.15%) and corn starch (1, 2, and 3%) on acidity, texture, viscosity, overrun, melting properties, color attributes, and sensory characteristics of lactose-free frozen yogurts. Lactose was reduced by enzymatic hydrolysis during the fermentation process. The effectiveness of the hydrolysis was measured by HPLC, and lactose was reduced to 0.05% after 80 min of incubation with the enzyme. The addition of stabilizers did not change overrun and melting properties of frozen yogurt, but it did affect pH, titratable acidity, and color parameters. The product with 0.15% κ-carrageenan had the highest hardness and stickiness values. Moreover, κ-carrageenan had a positive effect on sensory attractiveness of lactose-free frozen yogurt, and it reduced the coarse texture in comparison with the control without stabilizers. A lactose-free frozen yogurt with good quality and nutritional characteristics was produced, particularly with the use of κ-carrageenan as stabilizer.  相似文献

Activated carbon (AC) fiber cloths and a hydrophobic microporous polypropylene (PP) membrane, both modified with lithiated acetone oligomers, were used as electrodes and a separator in electric double layer capacitors (EDLCs) with aqueous lithium hydroxide (LiOH) as the electrolyte. Electrochemical characteristics of EDLCs were investigated by cyclic voltammetry (CV), galvanostatic charge-discharge cycle tests and impedance spectroscopy (EIS), compared with a case of the capacitor with aqueous potassium hydroxide (KOH) as an electrolyte. As a result, the capacitor with LiOH aqueous solution and a modified separator and electrodes was found to exhibit higher specific capacitance, maximum energy stored and maximum power than that with KOH aqueous solution.  相似文献

Activated carbon (AC) fiber cloths and hydrophobic microporous polypropylene (PP) membrane, both modified by plasma-induced graft polymerization of acrylic acid (AAc) under UV irradiation, and filled with saturated lithium hydroxide solution were used as electrodes, a separator and electrolyte in electric double layer capacitors (EDLCs). The modification process changed the hydrophobic character of AC and PP materials to hydrophilic, made them wettable and serviceable as components of an electrochemical capacitor. The presence of poly(acrylic acid) on the AC and PP surface was confirmed by SEM and XPS methods. Electrochemical characteristics of EDLCs were investigated by cyclic voltammetry and galvanostatic charge-discharge cycle tests and also by impedance spectroscopy. At the 1000th cycle of potential cycling (1 A g−1) the specific capacitance of 110 F g−1 was obtained with a specific energy of 11 Wh kg−1 at power density of 1 kW kg−1. The above results provide valuable information which may be used when developing novel compositions of EDLCs.  相似文献

Properties of capacitors working with the same carbon electrodes (activated carbon cloth) and three types of electrolytes: aqueous, organic and ionic liquids were compared. Capacitors filled with ionic liquids worked at a potential difference of 3.5 V, their solutions in AN and PC were charged up to the potential difference of 3 V, classical organic systems to 2.5 V and aqueous to 1 V. Cyclic voltammetry, galvanostatic charging/discharging and impedance spectroscopy were used to characterize these capacitors. The highest specific energy was recorded for the device working with ionic liquids, while the highest power is characteristic for the device filled with aqueous H2SO4 electrolyte. Aqueous electrolytes led to energy density an order of magnitude lower in comparison to that characteristic of ionic liquids.  相似文献

The aim of this work was to determine modifying effects of lactic fermentation and extrusion processes on functionality of lupin proteins. Protein content, surface hydrophobicity, water absorption capacity (WAC), water solubility index (WSI) and emulsifying properties (EAI, ESI) of protein preparations obtained from lupin seeds (Lupinus luteus, Lupinus albus, Lupinus angustifolius), with various contents of hull, were analyzed. Changes of protein properties were affected by lupin cultivar, hull content and applied processing method. An increase of soluble protein content after controlled lactic fermentation of lupin seeds, and changes of surface protein hydrophobicity, WAC and WSI values after each treatment and significant worsening of protein emulsifying properties were observed. Correlations were found between parameters examined in this study.  相似文献
