In the current paper, a coupled two degree of freedom model which considers both bending and torsion of the supporting torsion beams is presented for electrostatically actuated torsional nano/micro-actuators under the effect of van der Waals (vdW) force. Newton’s second law is utilized for finding the normalized equations governing the static behavior of the actuator. The implict function theorem is then utilized for finding the equations governing the pull-in state of the actuator. The related results show that torsion model considerably overestimates the pull-in parameters of the nano/micro-actuator. The concept of the instability mode is introduced, and it is shown that when the ratio of the bending stiffness to the torsion stiffness of the supporting torsion beams is relatively low, the dominant instability mode of the actuator would be the bending mode and otherwise the dominant instability mode would be the torsion mode. It is also observed that the presence of the vdW force can significantly reduce the pull-in angle and pull-in deflection of the nano/micro-actuator. The presented results also show that the vdW force can lead to considerable reduction in the pull-in voltage of the actuator. The equilibrium behavior of the actuator is studied, and it is observed that the vdW force and also bending of the supporting torsion beams greatly reduce the maximum allowable voltage which can be applied to the actuator. Results of this paper can be used for successful design of electrostatically actuated torsional nano/micro-actuators where the size of the actuator is sufficiently small, and as a result, the vdW force plays a major role in the system.  相似文献

This study aims to determine the effects of chitosan obtained from Metapenaeus stebbingi shells on the shelf life of refrigerated gilthead sea bream. It was determined that 1% chitosan‐coated samples had the lowest thiobarbituric acid (TBA) (3.05 mg malondialdehyde (MDA) kg?1) and free fatty acids (FFA) value (2.79% oleic acid), while the control group had the highest TBA (5.08 mg MDA kg?1) and FFA value (6.13% oleic acid) on the 27th day of storage. In the last day of storage, TVB‐N was found higher in control group (25.62 mg 100 g?1) than chitosan‐coated samples (14.57 mg 100 g?1). Total viable count value of the control group exceeded maximum permissible limit on the 27th day of storage. However, it was lower than 7.0 log CFU/g in chitosan‐coated samples during the refrigerated storage. As a result of this study, it was determined that shelf life of refrigerated gilthead sea bream can be increased up to 27 days with chitosan.  相似文献

In our work, operation of hybrid desiccant cooling system (HDCS) has been investigated based on experimental studies. Different climates have been created by changing the temperature and humidity of HDCS inlet air, using an electrical heater and a centrifuge humidifier. Input energies, temperature of various points, and their relative humidity have been measured at the created climates. Coefficient of performance (COP), thermal coefficient of performance, and electrical coefficient of performance (ECOP) of the HDCS have been calculated. As a reference situation, vapor compression system (VCS) was examined at the same condition as HDCS. Results show that COP of HDCS in comparison with VCS decreased about 36% and 28% in hot-dry and hot-humid climates, respectively, which is due to the thermal energy consumption in HDCS. In contrast its ECOP increased, which means that by using HDCS some electrical energy would be saved. Defining operating cost index (OCI) parameter, operation costs of VCS and HDCS have been compared. Analyzing the OCI results shows that in HDCS, although decreasing the electricity consumption results in more usage of natural gas, these systems are economical especially in those countries with low natural gas prices.  相似文献

This study proposes a nonparametric method based on adaptive neural network (ANN) technique for measuring efficiency of decision making units (DMUs) in one period case as a complementary tool for the ANN-based efficiency methods in the previous studies. In previous studies, there are needed to have large volume of data, and so the proposed method in this study is more applicable because it can be used for the cases which have no historical data. In fact, a limitative weakness of the ANN-based efficiency methods about applying them for these cases is removed. So, it can be a competitive method to the other common tools for measuring efficiency. By noting the importance of flexible manufacturing system, this study presents a decision-making model for optimization of operators’ allocation in cellular manufacturing system by computer simulation. The methodology is illustrated through its application on a previously reported dataset. It was found out that ANN provides more robust results and identifies more efficient units than the conventional methods since better performance patterns are explored.  相似文献

A new chemically modified electrode is constructed based on a copper(II) doped zeolite modified carbon paste electrode (Cu2+Y/ZMCPE). It is demonstrated that this novel sensor could be used for the simultaneous determination of the pharmaceutically important compounds paracetamol (PAR) and mefenamic acid (MEF). The measurements were carried out using the differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) method. The prepared modified electrode shows voltammetric responses of high sensitivity, selectivity and stability for PAR and MEF under optimal conditions, which makes it a suitable sensor for simultaneous submicromolar detection of PAR and MEF in solution. The oxidation peak current for PAR in Briton Robinson buffer (pH = 10) was measured at various concentrations between 0.25 and 900 μM. (The detection limit was 0.1 μM and S/N was 3.) It proved linear (the correlation coefficient was 0.9987). For the MEF a linear correlation between oxidation peak current and concentration of MEF over the range 0.3–100 μM, with a correlation coefficient of 0.9991 and a detection limit of 0.04 μM, was obtained. The analytical performance of this sensor has been evaluated for the detection of PAR and MEF in human serum, human urine and a pharmaceutical preparation.  相似文献

In the present study, Zr x La1?x O y amorphous nanostructures were prepared by the sol–gel method such that the Zr atomic fraction (x) ranged from 0% to 70%. An analytical model is described for the dielectric constant (k) of Zr x La1?x O y nanostructures in a metal–oxide–semiconductor (MOS) device. The structure and morphology of Zr x La1?x O y film was studied using x-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy, and transmission electron microscopy. Elemental qualitative analysis was performed using energy-dispersive x-ray spectra and a map that confirmed the findings. Preliminary information on the influence of thermal annealing on the morphological control of Zr x La1?x O y amorphous nanostructures is presented. The dielectric constant of the crystalline Zr0.5La0.5O y thin film is about 36. Electrical property characterization was performed using a metal–dielectric–semiconductor structure via capacitance–voltage and current density–voltage measurements.  相似文献

The rate of hydrogen evolution from a photocatalytic process depends not only on the activity of a photocatalyst, but also on photoreactor design. Ideally, a photoreactor should be able to absorb the incident light, promoting photocatalytic reactions in an effective manner with minimal photonic losses. There are numerous technical challenges and cost related issues when designing a large-scale photoreactor for hydrogen production. Active stirring of the photocatalyst slurry within a photoreactor is not practical in large-scale applications due to cost related issues. Rather, the design should allow facile self-mixing of the flow field within the photoreactor. In this paper two types of photocatalytic reactor configurations are studied: a batch type design and another involving passive self-mixing of the photolyte. Results show that energy loss from a properly designed photoreactor is mainly due to reflection losses from the photoreactor window. We describe the interplay between the reaction and the photoreactor design parameters as well as effects on the rate of hydrogen evolution. We found that a passive self-mixing of the photolyte is possible. Furthermore, the use of certain engineering polymer films as photoreactor window materials has the potential for substantial cost savings in large-scale applications, with minimal reduction of photon energy utilization efficiency. Eight window materials were tested and the results indicate that Aclar™ polymer film used as the photoreactor window provides a substantial cost saving over other engineering polymers, especially with respect to fused silica glass at modest hydrogen evolution rates.  相似文献
