We have developed an incentive‐rewarding mechanism that stimulates activities in social networking services (SNSs), including content uploading and link establishment. We particularly focus on changing the reward assignment ratio based on the different risks users perceive when uploading content with different privacy settings: public‐open and friend‐limited. Learning‐based simulation allowed us to observe that SNS activity, which we measured as the amount of browsed content within a certain period, can be controlled by a rewarding assignment ratio. We then analyzed how the amount of uploaded content and the increase of established links affect SNS activity. Results suggested that the optimal reward assignment ratio to maximize SNS activity changes depending on the total amount of available reward resources. This paper shows the effects of clearance length between a body and a duct wall, and duct height on the heat transfer characteristics and flow behavior at a downstream region of the body when a blunt body was set in a parallel plate duct with some distance separating it from the duct wall as a turbulence promoter. For the ratio of clearance to body height, C/D = 0.05–01, the heat transfer was characterized by the reattachment of shear flow separated from the body. Furthermore, the heat transfer depended on both the reattachment flow and the separation vortex at C/D = 0.15–0.2, and the side vortex induced by Karman vortex at C/D = 0.25–0.275 was also observed. We found the reattachment flow gives a superior effect to enhance heat transfer at a low Reynolds number, but at a larger Reynolds number, the side vortex induced by Karman vortex becomes more effective to heat transfer enhancement. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The tensile properties of a ZrC particle-dispersed Mo, which was processed by spark plasma sintering with mechanically alloyed powder, were investigated at room temperature and at elevated temperatures of 1170 to 1970 K. The Mo-ZrC alloy showed much higher strength at room temperature than a fully recrystallized pure Mo. The high strength of Mo-ZrC is mainly attributed to a very small grain size (about 3 μm). The main role of the ZrC particle is not to increase strength due to the particle-dislocation interaction, but to limit grain growth during sintering and to attain the very small grain size. The elongation at room temperature of Mo-ZrC was much lower than that of pure Mo. This is probably related to the higher interstitial contents. However, Mo-ZrC showed a large elongation of 180 pct at 1970 K and 6.7×10−4 s−1. It was suggested that the ZrC particles stabilized the fine-grained microstructure yet provided no cavitation sites at 1970 K; as a result, the large elongation was attained.  相似文献

The physical and electrochemical properties of boron-doped polycrystalline diamond electrodes, prepared with various B/C ratio, i.e., 0.1%, 0.5% (BDD-A), 1% (BDD-B), and 5% (BDD-C), were investigated. Electrochemical measurements of the heavily boron-doped films (BDD-C) showed giant electric double-layer capacitance and activity which is significantly larger than BDD-A and BDD-B as well as glassy carbon electrodes. However, interestingly, actual boron concentration of BDD-C was observed to be almost the same as that of BDD-B by secondary ion mass spectroscopy (SIMS) and glow discharge optical emission spectroscopy (GDOES) analysis. It is suggested that the large capacitance is due to a few sp2-bonded carbon impurities, which was observed only in BDD-C, although the amount of the sp2-bonded nondiamond species are very small. In the present work, the reason for the interesting electrochemical properties of heavily boron-doped diamond electrodes is discussed. Furthermore, dimensional stability of the electrodes was also confirmed by conducting harsh anodic treatment.  相似文献

For the treatment of hypertension, the combination of an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor and a thiazide diuretic is supported by multiple lines of evidence, because these drugs have synergistic action and are expected to cancel out each other's adverse side effects. However, the long-term outcome of this combination antihypertensive therapy is not entirely clear. In the present multicenter open trial, we investigated the long-term efficacy and safety of combined antihypertensive therapy with an ACE inhibitor, lisinopril, and a thiazide diuretic, trichlormethiazide. A total of 466 patients with essential hypertension were treated with lisinopril alone (monotherapy group, n = 360) or with a combination of lisinopril with trichlormethiazide (combination therapy group, n = 106) for 1 year. The average blood pressure was effectively lowered to below 150/90 mmHg in both the monotherapy and the combination therapy groups throughout the study period. The average maintenance dose of lisinopril was lower when combined with thiazide than when given alone (9.8 vs. 11.5 mg/day, p < 0.001). Dry cough was the major side effect of lisinopril; no severe adverse effects were observed. The incidence of cough was not significantly different between the monotherapy group (13.1%) and the combination therapy group (11.3%). The increase in serum potassium observed in the monotherapy group was reversed by the concurrent use of the thiazide diuretic in the combination therapy group. Fasting blood glucose was significantly reduced in the monotherapy group; the reduction observed in the combination therapy group was not significant. Thus, the present results provide useful information as to the effectiveness and safety of combined antihypertensive therapy with lisinopril and a thiazide in comparison with monotherapy with lisinopril.  相似文献

Neoarterial regeneration in an implanted small caliber vascular prosthesis is complexly controlled by many structural and biologic factors, such as cytokines. The authors designed an artificial graft, which was prepared as follows. Segmented polyurethane tubular film (inner diameter, 1.5 mm; wall thickness, 100 microns; length, 20 mm), in which micropores (pore size, 100 microns) were fabricated by an excimer laser ablation technique, were coated with a mixed solution of photoreactive gelatin and heparin with or without cytokines (vascular endothelial growth factor [VEGF]: 5 or 50 micrograms/ml, basic fibroblast growth factor [bFGF]: 1 microgram/ml). These coated grafts were irradiated by ultraviolet light, and were implanted in aortas of rats for 4 weeks; the VEGF (5 micrograms/ml) group, n = 6; the bFGF group, n = 6; the VEGF (5 micrograms/ml)/bFGF group, n = 11; the VEGF (50 micrograms/ml)/bFGF group, n = 5; and the control group, n = 9. Control grafts were treated without cytokines. Endothelial coverage was greater for the cytokine immobilized groups (approximately equal to 50-60%) than for the control group (approximately equal to 30%). At the midportion of the triple VEGF immobilized group, many capillaries were seen in the neoarterial intima, and in the micropores, although such capillaries were rarely observed in the bFGF and control groups. Thus, impregnation of VEGF in the gelatinous layer of grafts enhanced transanastomotic tissue ingrowth and transmural capillary ingrowth.  相似文献

The effect of pre-operative radio-chemotherapy (RCT) has been examined in a total of 15 oral squamous cell carcinomas (SCCs), in terms of apoptosis (cell loss) and proliferation. All the patients received pre-operative radiation at a dosage of 30 or 40 Gy, as well as anticancer agents including tagaful (FT), 5-fluorouracil (5-FU), bleomycin (BLM) and peplomycin (PEP). Surgical specimens were obtained before and after RCT, and serial sections were prepared for immunohistochemistry for p53 oncoprotein and Ki-67 antigen, as well as for terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase (TdT)-mediated dUTP-biotin nick end labeling (TUNEL). TUNEL indices (TI; percentage of TUNEL-positive cells in the tumor cells) before and after RCT were 1.2+/-1.1 and 4.7+/-2.9 in the nine well-differentiated oral SCCs, and 1.0+/-0.7 and 3.9+/-2.1 in the six poorly differentiated SCCs, respectively. Similarly, Ki-67 indices (KI; percentage of Ki-67 antigen-positive cells in tumor cells) before and after RCT were 31.1+/-14.2 and 15.8+/-11.1 in the former, and 37.1+/-7.8 and 8.7+/- 13.4 in the latter, respectively. Thus, pre-operative RCT enhanced apoptotic cell death and abated proliferative activity significantly (P<0.05), regardless of histological differentiation. Enhancement of apoptosis was more prominent in the group treated with FT or 5-FU than with BLM or PEP. Oral SCC with >20% of nuclear p53-positive tumor cells was noted in six cases. Enhanced TI and abadement of KI did not differ among the p53-positive and -negative tumors.  相似文献

The microporous structure of artificial vascular grafts, which increases compliance and porosity simultaneously, may enhance neoarterial regeneration. In order to differentiate these effects, three models of segmented polyurethane grafts (inner diameter, 1.5 mm; wall thickness, 100 microns) with or without micropores fabricated using an excimer laser ablation technique, were prepared, and their neoarterial regenerative potentials were studied upon implantation: Model I (microporous, permeable, compliant); Model II (smooth-surfaced, impermeable, compliant); and Model III (smooth-surfaced, impermeable, noncompliant). In Models I and II, the pore or groove size (diameter, 100 microns) and pore or groove arrangement were fixed, and consequently their compliances were almost identical. Irrespective of model, the luminal surfaces were coated with benzophenone-derivatized gelatin and subsequently photocured. Twenty grafts (length, 20 mm) of each model were implanted in the aortas of rats. Predetermined implantation periods were 4, 12, and 24 weeks. Total patency rate decreased in the order Model I (100%), II (87%), and III (59%) grafts. All patent grafts were completely endothelialized after 12 weeks of implantation, irrespective of model. After 12- and 24-week implantations, in Model I grafts, the neoarterial wall was thin, and smooth muscle cells (SMCs) were of the contractile phenotype. In Model II grafts, the neoarterial wall exhibited considerable thickening. In Model III grafts, the neoarterial wall exhibited marked thickening, and SMCs were of the synthetic phenotype. The neoarterial wall thickness at the midportion of the grafts after 24 weeks of implantation increased in the order Model I (48 +/- 8 microns), II (146 +/- 87 microns), and III (385 +/- 21 microns) grafts. These results strongly suggest that compliance matching and porosity synergistically resulted in neoarterial wall restoration without appreciable thickening.  相似文献

We made photodetectors on a silicon-on-insulator (SOI) substrate by a 0.35-μm BiCMOS fabrication process to detect the signal light used in an optical disk system. Investigating their characteristics at two wavelengths, 410 and 780 nm, for different structures, we found that the thickness of the silicon crystalline layer on the insulator strongly affected the frequency response at the longer wavelength, while the cutoff frequency was over 500 MHz for the shorter wavelength.
