Narrow gap welding with an oscillation laser beam is one of the effective processes for thick plate welding. To put this welding process into practical manufacturing, a groove-sensing system using image processing for narrow gap welding with an oscillation laser beam is used. This developed system uses still images of the weld zone taken by a coaxial CMOS camera. It can recognize the position of the groove wall by analysing the brightness distribution in the still image. It can then control the oscillation width and the laser-irradiated area by calculating the groove width and the groove centre position. Some narrow gap welding experiments were performed to evaluate the performance of the developed system. The results revealed that the developed system is effective for narrow gap welding with an oscillation laser beam. Using this system, the narrow gap groove can be welded even if the groove width has changed during the welding process.  相似文献

Endothelial cells acquire different phenotypes to establish functional vascular networks. Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) signaling induces endothelial proliferation, migration, and survival to regulate vascular development, which leads to the construction of a vascular plexuses with a regular morphology. The spatiotemporal localization of angiogenic factors and the extracellular matrix play fundamental roles in ensuring the proper regulation of angiogenesis. This review article highlights how and what kinds of extracellular environmental molecules regulate angiogenesis. Close interactions between the vascular and neural systems involve shared molecular mechanisms to coordinate developmental and regenerative processes. This review article focuses on current knowledge about the roles of angiogenesis in peripheral nerve regeneration and the latest therapeutic strategies for the treatment of peripheral nerve injury.  相似文献

Proposes a method for designing spread sequences for a spread spectrum (SS) communication and ranging system. The proposed sequence is composed by concatenated equivalently odd and even (EOE) inner-sequences and an M outer sequence. We have previously proposed EOE sequences that have equivalently good properties of both even and odd correlation, what are important features for acquisition and demodulation in SS communications. Usually, simple concatenation of pseudonoise-sequences results in sequences with bad autocorrelation properties. Unlike the latter, concatenation of EOE inner sequences result in sequences with good correlation properties, exhibiting low sidelobe peaks, what is useful for achieving stable acquisition. The proposed sequences have long period. Therefore, the single concatenated EOE sequence is suitable for a spread spectrum system with both communication and ranging functions  相似文献

We describe a new structure of guided-mode resonant grating (GMRG) filters with low sideband reflectance. This GMRG filter consists of a high-index thin film on an antireflective structured surface called "moth-eye structure." Since the high-index film undulates along the surface structure, the film acts as a modulated optical waveguide. An incident light wave satisfying a resonant condition is reflected by the GMRG filter, and nonresonant light waves pass through the filter. This GMRG filter is valid for reducing reflection of nonresonant light waves in a wide spectral range. The resonant reflection of this new filter was investigated by numerical calculation based on an electromagnetic grating analysis. In the case of a triangular antireflective surface structure whose thickness is 2x greater than its period, the sideband reflectance for nonresonant light waves was lower than 0.5% for TM-polarized light in a wide range of wavelengths.  相似文献

Chance discovery is to become aware of a chance and to explain its significance, especially if the chance is rare and its significance is unnoticed. This direction matches with various real requirements in human life. This paper presents the significance, viewpoints, theories, methods, and future work of chance discovery. Three keys for the progress are extracted from fundamental discussions on how to realize chance discovery: (1) communication, (2) imagination, and (3) data mining. As an approach to chance discovery, visualized data mining methods are formalized as tools aiding chance discoveries on the basis of these keys. Yukio Ohsawa, Ph.D.: He received Bechelor of Engineering (1990) from Faculty of Engineering, Master of Engineering (1992) and Ph.D. (1995) from Graduate School of Engineering, respectively of The University of Tokyo. In the doctoral course he began artificial intelligence research, especially of abductive inference. He was a research associate (1995–1999) in Osaka University on studies of text mining and related issues, and moved to the current position, associate professor in the University of Tsukuba in 1999. From 2001, he is also a researcher of TRESTO (changed to PRESTO) in Japan Science and Technology Corporation. He received best paper awards in two Annual Conferences of Japasese Society of AI (1994 and 1998), and a Journal Paper Award from JSAI in 1998. His social activities are committees of conferences e.g., International Conference of Multi-Agent Systems (ICMAS) since 1998 and Discovery Science (DS) since 2001, program chair of MultiAgent and Cooporative Computations (MACC, in Japan) in 1999, and committes of meetings including ones on Chance Discovery.  相似文献

The authors have been developing extruded polymer insulated superconducting power cables. Dielectric loss in electrical insulation cannot be ignored in superconducting cables since conductor loss in the cables is minimal. Studies so far show that ethylene-propylene rubber (EPR) is suitable as an electrical insulating material in the extruded polymer insulated superconducting cable design because it demonstrates excellent mechanical and relatively good electrical qualities at a cryogenic temperature. Widely used EPR includes some kinds of additives; however, their effect on tan δ of EPR at cryogenic temperature remains unknown. The effect of additives such as crosslinking agent and fillers on tan δ of EPR was examined at temperatures of between 4.2 K and 300 K. Thickness dependence of tan δ was also measured using EPR films of different thickness and an extruded EPR insulated cable sample. The results show that additives increase tan δ of relatively thin films of EPR even in the cryogenic temperature region; however, they do not have an intolerable dielectric loss in comparison with conductor loss and heat inflow of the superconducting cable. The remedy to tan δ increase due to the polymer contraction relative to shielding wires has been established.  相似文献
