X-ray based computed microtomography is a non-destructive, well established tool for a three-dimensional characterization of open-cell metallic foams. Macroscopic physical and chemical properties of these materials stay in close relation to their micro-structure parameters. The purpose of the paper is to present two types of thresholding methods so-called global and local thresholding for evaluating the structural parameters of open-cell metal foams based on X-ray microtomography data. Two different methods were chosen: automatic Otsu thresholding (global) and adaptive (mean of minimal and maximal grey values of grayscales within a selected radius). The key parameters of aluminum and nickel-chromium foams fine structure calculated using Otsu and locally thresholded images were significantly different. The proper image segmentation is the key point in metallic foam morphometry. The influence of a radius of the image processing region on the results obtained is discussed for the local thresholding method. Examples of the images artifacts generated by local thresholding method to demonstrate possible results misinterpretation are also given. Even in high quality manufacturing, some units may exhibit deviations. Although such units are not actually nonconforming to usage requirements when sent to the field, the deviations may lead to a reduced lifetime. It is therefore imperative to estimate the number of units bearing such deviations for risk assessment. Standard sampling methods are inefficient for this purpose. As an efficient alternative, we suggest the test gate method. The method is demonstrated on two practical examples and we provide an empirical model with stochastic extensions. In this study, CNT-A356 composites were prepared by reinforcing an aluminum alloy A356 matrix material with carbon nanotubes (CNT) in 4 different ratio (0.5, 1, 1.5 and 2) and the hardness, abrasion and microstructure properties of these composites were investigated. The powder metallurgy method was used in the production of composite samples. A356 powder and CNTs’ were mixed by ball milling for 1?hour and cold pressed in the powder compression mold. The mold was then taken into a functional oven and hot pressing was performed. The compacted powder bodies were sintered at 550° C for 1?hour in a 10?6 millibars vacuum environment. Hardness measurements, wear tests and microstructure analyzes of the produced samples were carried out. As a result of experimental studies; it has been observed that the CNTs’ are placed in bulk and between the matrix grains and a more hollow structure is formed by increasing the CNT ratio. Moreover, while the CNT ratio exceeded 1%, the hardness values decreased and weight loss increased. The highest hardness value was obtained in the composites containing 1% CNT. 相似文献

采用抗冲聚丙烯和Zn系无机抗菌剂KJZ-Zn,经熔融共混制备出抗菌聚丙烯,研究了所得抗菌聚丙烯的热力学性能、力学性能、抗菌性能及其抗菌持久性的影响因素。结果表明:添加KJZ-Zn无机抗菌剂,对聚丙烯制品的热力学性能及力学性能变化均无明显的影响;当KJZ-Zn抗菌剂添加质量分数为0.3%时,经母料添加法所制备的抗菌聚丙烯,不仅加工经济性能较好,而且对金黄色葡萄球菌、大肠埃希氏菌的抗细菌率均大于98.0%,抗菌性能不低于Ⅱ级;为保证其抗菌性能的持久性,在使用时,既不要长时间浸泡于水中,又要尽量减少清洗次数。 相似文献
