Thermal behavior, structural properties, and phase equilibria of the (100−x)TeO2-xNa2O system were studied in the 5 ≤  50 mol% composition range. Investigation of glass formation behavior in the binary system was realized, and the glass formation range was determined as 7.5 ≤  40 mol%. Differential thermal analysis (DTA) and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy techniques were used for thermal and structural characterization of the glasses. Influence of Na2O content on glass transition temperature (Tg), glass stability (∆T), density (ρ), molar volume (VM), oxygen molar volume (VO), and oxygen packing density (OPD) values of sodium tellurite glasses was evaluated considering the structural transformations in the glass network. For the phase equilibria studies, DTA, X-ray diffraction (XRD), and scanning electron microscopy/energy dispersive X-ray (SEM/EDS) techniques were utilized to characterize the heat-treated samples. According to the phase equilibria studies, three eutectic regions were detected in the 0 < < 50 mol% composition range of the (100−x)TeO2-xNa2O system. A new invariant endothermic reaction was detected for the compositions between 40 ≤  45 mol%. Na2O.8TeO2 (11.11 mol% Na2O) compound that was claimed to exist in the binary system in the literature was found to be the metastable δ-TeO2 phase.  相似文献

Mitochondrial dysfunctions are implicated in several pathologies, such as metabolic, cardiovascular, respiratory, and neurological diseases, as well as in cancer and aging. These metabolic alterations are usually assessed in human or murine samples by mitochondrial respiratory chain enzymatic assays, by measuring the oxygen consumption of intact mitochondria isolated from tissues, or from cells obtained after physical or enzymatic disruption of the tissues. However, these methodologies do not maintain tissue multicellular organization and cell-cell interactions, known to influence mitochondrial metabolism. Here, we develop an optimal model to measure mitochondrial oxygen consumption in heart and lung tissue samples using the XF24 Extracellular Flux Analyzer (Seahorse) and discuss the advantages and limitations of this technological approach. Our results demonstrate that tissue organization, as well as mitochondrial ultrastructure and respiratory function, are preserved in heart and lung tissues freshly processed or after overnight conservation at 4 °C. Using this method, we confirmed the repeatedly reported obesity-associated mitochondrial dysfunction in the heart and extended it to the lungs. We set up and validated a new strategy to optimally assess mitochondrial function in murine tissues. As such, this method is of great potential interest for monitoring mitochondrial function in cohort samples.  相似文献

In Publication 103 (ICRP, 2007), the Commission included a section on the protection of the environment, and indicated that it would be further developing its approach to this difficult subject by way of a set of Reference Animals and Plants (RAPs) as the basis for relating exposure to dose, and dose to radiation effects, for different types of animals and plants. Subsequently, a set of 12 RAPs has been described in some detail (ICRP, 2008), particularly with regard to estimation of the doses received by them, at a whole-body level, in relation to internal and external radionuclide concentrations; and what is known about the effects of radiation on such types of animals and plants. A set of dose conversion factors for all of the RAPs has been derived, and the resultant dose rates can be compared with evaluations of the effects of dose rates using derived consideration reference levels (DCRLs). Each DCRL constitutes a band of dose rates for each RAP within which there is likely to be some chance of the occurrence of deleterious effects. Site-specific data on Representative Organisms (i.e. organisms of specific interest for an assessment) can then be compared with such values and used as a basis for decision making. It is intended that the Commission's approach to protection of the environment be applied to all exposure situations. In some situations, the relevant radionuclide concentrations can be measured directly, but this is not always possible or feasible. In such cases, modelling techniques are used to estimate the radionuclide concentrations. This report is an initial step in addressing the needs of such modelling techniques. After briefly reviewing the basic factors relating to the accumulation of radionuclides by different types of biota, in different habitats, and at different stages in the life cycle, this report focuses on the approaches used to model the transfer of radionuclides through the environment. It concludes that equilibrium concentration ratios (CRs) are most commonly used to model such transfers, and that they currently offer the most comprehensive data coverage. The report also reviews the methods used to derive CRs, and describes a means of summarising statistical information from empirical data sets. Emphasis has been placed on using data from field studies, although some data from laboratory experiments have been included for some RAPs. There are, inevitably, many data gaps for each RAP, and other data have been used to help fill these gaps. CRs specific to each RAP were extracted from a larger database, structured in terms of generic wildlife groups. In cases where data were lacking, values from taxonomically-related organisms were used to derive suitable surrogate values. The full set of rules which have been applied for filling gaps in RAP-specific CRs is described. Statistical summaries of the data sets are provided, and CR values for 39 elements and 12 RAP combinations are given. The data coverage, reliance on derived values, and applicability of the CR approach for each of the RAPs is discussed. Finally, some consideration is given to approaches where RAPs and their life stages could be measured for the elements of interest under more rigorously controlled conditions to help fill the current data gaps.  相似文献

中国土壤中天然放射性核素含量调查(1983—1990年)是中国环境天然放射性水平调查研究的一部分。本文作为分报告之一,系根据全国29个省、市、自治区(不包括台湾省,海南省包括在广东省内)的调查结果整理编写而成,主要报告这项调查的方法和结果。本调查在全国按均匀网格布点,并区分不同成土母岩母质、土壤类型进行加密布点,在天然γ辐射剂量率局部异常地区以及部分核企业和放射性伴生矿等对环境可能产生放射性污染的地区,也作了加密布点。本调查布点区域复盖面积约占全国总面积的80%。采样点基本与陆地γ辐射剂量率测点同位布设,土壤采样与陆地γ辐射剂量率测量同步进行。全国共采集土壤样品13866份;分析测量了11216份,其中网格点样品9114个,加密点样品2102个。本报告主要结果由7777个25×25和50×50 km 的基本网格点分析数据统计得到。本调查主要结果如下:(1)全国土壤中天然放射性核素~(238)U、~(226)Ra、~(232)Th、~(40)K 含量按面积加权平均值(±单次测量标准差)分别为39.5(±34.4)、36.5(±22.0)、49.1(±27.6)、580.0(±202.0)Bq·kg~(-1),范围值分别为1.8—520.0、2.4—425.8、1.0—437.8、11.5—2185.2 Bq·kg~(-1)。(2)土壤中天然放射性核素含量与成土母岩母质类型明显相关。由1552个不同成土母岩  相似文献

Various structural concepts for lunar bases have been proposed and considered during the past three decades, each balancing the multitude of lunar constraints and anticipated base functions with a different distribution of weighting factors. This paper provides a brief review of the study of lunar base structures as well as an overview of current ideas. Lunar environmental characteristics are highlighted, and questions of structural functionality are categorized. In an appendix to the overview report, building systems proposed for lunar applications are categorized according to applications, application requirements, types of structures, material considerations, structures technology drivers, and requirement definitions. Another appendix presents a short list of the most important references related to these issues, as ranked by the task committee. This document contains a brief overview rather than an exhaustive review of concepts proposed for lunar outposts. The original documents, including those cited as references, are not replaced by this paper. However, this review is intended to be reasonably complete. There has been no conscious intention to ignore any work in this area of extensive ongoing activity.  相似文献

As a continuation of efforts to explore the potential of certain types of polymer nanocomposites to be successful candidates as dental restoration/adhesion materials, a Zr‐containing and organically modified silicate‐based material system with epoxy functionality was prepared by use of a sol–gel synthesis method, and UV light‐ and visible light (VL)‐curing processes. Comparative influences of the synthesis and processing parameters on the mechanical, thermal, and microstructural/nanostructural properties of the system were detailed. Zr‐containing species proved to more effectively catalyze the epoxy polymerization/crosslinking reactions than those containing Ti. Incorporation of Zr into the nanocomposite network led to significantly advanced mechanical properties. An elastic (Young's) modulus value of 23 MPa was achieved. The system with relatively high Zr content was successfully obtained, which also had higher thermal stability. Overall observations and results suggested that Zr content, and the UV light‐ or VL‐curing process could be capitalized on to modify the structure, and to improve the final properties of these material systems, which indicated a prospective opportunity for this material system to be utilized in dental restoration/adhesion applications. An acid-activated clay (Çanakkale montmorillonite from Turkey) was used to adsorb chlorophyll from hexane solutions. The phenomenon seems to be mainly driven by the interaction of chlorophyll with acid sites. The adsorption of chlorophyll on Brönsted acid sites was indicated by a characteristic infrared band for the -OH group at 3671 cm?1. The variations in the structure of clay mineral and chlorophyll during adsorption have been examined by differential thermal analysis, thermogravimetry and infrared spectroscopy of the activated clay before and after adsorption of chlorophyll. Oxidation of adsorbed chlorophyll was completed at quite a high temperature.  相似文献
