An experimental demonstration is given of the use of a transversal RF photonic filter to accomplish intermodal dispersion equalisation in a 10 Gbit/s optical fibre link using a Fabry-Perot laser. The structure operates in an equivalent fashion to an electronic equaliser but in the photonic domain. A record distance of 24.2 km using the equalising filter is obtained. 相似文献

The relaxation dynamics of nonequilibrium charge carriers in gallium arsenide epitaxial films grown by molecular-beam epitaxy
at low temperatures has been studied. The growth conditions of the epitaxial layer provided an excess arsenic content of 1.2%
in the layer. In a material of this kind, the carrier lifetime is <1 ps. To examine carrier relaxation in the femtosecond
range, an original scheme for measuring the refractive index dynamics was developed on the basis of the pump-probe technique.

The effects of the addition of wild legumes (Lathyrus) from the South of Spain on the physical and nutritional properties of extruded products based on whole corn and brown rice were studied. Samples were obtained with a Brabender single screw extruder. The physical characterisation of the expanded products was performed by the measurement of density, expansion, solubility and specific mechanical energy consumption (SMEC). Flour blends based on whole corn and rice with two added wild legumes at 15% level of cereal replacement were extruded to produce whole grain snacks. Extrusion temperature was 175 °C, and the moisture content was adjusted to 14%. The extruded products were evaluated for their physical, chemical and nutritional properties. Results showed that the addition of legumes produces a decrease in expansion in rice‐containing samples and an increase in solubility in corn‐containing samples. With only 15% of legume added to cereal, a significant increase in protein content and quality was obtained. An increase in fibre, polyphenol, iron and zinc content was also obtained. Protein digestibility was in the range of 81.8–85.3%. Mineral availability ranged from 6.4 to 16.3% for iron and 10–16.3% for zinc. The performance of each mixture during extrusion and the physical properties of the extruded products were considered to be similar to those expected for snack‐type products and described in the literature. 相似文献

The application of slurry ice, a binary mixture of small spherical ice crystals surrounded by seawater at subzero temperature, is a potentially new preservation method for farmed turbot (Psetta maxima), a flat fish species of increasing commercial interest. Comparative biochemical, microbiological and sensory analyses were carried on turbot specimens stored in either slurry ice or flake ice for up to 40 days. The results obtained in the sensory analysis correlated well with the observed chemical and microbial changes. Storage of turbot in slurry ice resulted in a slowing-down of the nucleotide degradation pathway and lipid oxidation mechanisms. A good stabilisation of the high molecular weight protein fraction of turbot muscle was also achieved as a consequence of storage in slurry ice. A slower production of both trimethylamine and total volatile bases was also observed. Likewise, low levels of total aerobes, anaerobes, coliforms, and proteolytic bacteria were attained. The application of slurry ice to farmed turbot is advisable to achieve better quality maintenance during storage and distribution. 相似文献

The charge-coupled device camera of the TJ-II Thomson scattering (TS) can capture five different classes of images. Typically, different data processing is performed depending on the kind of image that is acquired. The procedure can be automated to recognize the type of image. To this end, machine learning methods (MLM) are applied. However, usually, MLM classify without confidence estimates. An image classifier based on conformal predictors has been developed for the TJ-II TS. It provides a couple of indicators (confidence and credibility) for each classification that measures the accuracy and reliability of the prediction. Results achieve success rates of about 97%.
