The fatigue crack growth behaviour of 2024 T3 aluminium was investigated experimentally. The fatigue experiments were performed under constant stress amplitude, constant amplitude with single and multiple overloads and aircraft service spectra. The fatigue spectra used correspond to the air-to-air, air-to-ground and instrumentation and navigation flight phases. They were applied for different stress levels. In total 11 different random flight service spectra were examined. The retardation effects caused by the overloads on the fatigue crack growth behaviour and the fatigue crack growth under aircraft service spectra were predicted using an in-house-developed code. The code makes use of the strip plastic zone approximation to account for material hardening effects along the path of prospective crack growth. Crack growth is treated incrementally and corresponds to failure of material elements ahead of an existing crack after a certain critical number of fatigue cycles. For the simulation of irregular service spectra by equivalent sequences of distinguished stress cycles a modified rainflow counting method is utilized. Spectrum simulation accounts also for non-linearity in fatigue damage accumulation and load sequence effects. The computed fatigue curves fit well with the experimental results.  相似文献

The deformation behavior of the Mg-RE alloys ME21 and WE54 was investigated. Although both alloys contain rare earth elements, which alter and weaken the texture, the flow curves of the alloys deviate significantly, especially in uniaxial compression test. Apart from the higher strength of the WE54 alloy, the compression flow curve does not exhibit the typical sigmoidal shape, which is associated with tension twinning. However, optical microscopy, X-ray texture measurements, and EBSD analysis reveal the activity of tension twinning. The combination of in situ energy-dispersive X-ray synchrotron diffraction and EPSC modeling was used to analyze these differences. The investigation reveals that twin propagation is decelerated in the WE54 alloy, which requires a change of the twinning scheme from the ‘finite initial fraction’ to the ‘continuity’ assumption. Furthermore, an enhanced activity of the 〈c+a〉 pyramidal slip system was observed in case of the WE54 alloy.  相似文献

The effect of vitamin E supplementation on pigment and lipid stability was evaluated with beef wrapped in high or low oxygen permeability films and stored in the dark or under constant illumination at -20°C. Dietary vitamin E supplementation improved pigment and lipid stability in both cases. Illumination increased metmyoglobin accumulation but did not affect lipid oxidation rate in both control and supplemented beef. A predisplay dark storage period of 30 days delayed metmyoglobin accumulation during subsequent display. Kinetic analysis showed that vitamin E supplementation stabilized the oxymyoglobin complex by enhancing the deoxymyoglobin oxygenation rate and by decreasing oxymyoglobin autoxidation rate.  相似文献

Microscale energetic residues (<1 mm) are produced during munitions detonation and the weathering of larger residues, and may serve as mobile and fast dissolving sources of explosive compounds, such as 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene (TNT), hexahydro-1,3,5-trinitro-1,3,5-triazine (RDX), and octahydro-1,3,5,7-tetranitro-1,3,5,7-tetrazocine (HMX). Knowledge of the behavior of microscale energetic residues in subsurface environments is quite limited. This work employed a previously unreported property of TNT, RDX, and HMX (i.e., autofluorescence under 405 nm laser illumination) to visualize and quantify the dissolution of microscale physically attrited energetic residues in saturated porous media. The results demonstrated that within the Composition B particles, TNT dissolved preferentially over RDX/HMX and the mass ratio of RDX/HMX to TNT increased by >5.3 times initially. The focused particles dissolved in a stepwise fashion, with >72% of particle volume reduction in <36 min. Moreover, the results suggested that the particle shape factor was relatively stable and the particles retained their highly irregular shape throughout the dissolution processes. This is the first work to demonstrate application of spectral confocal microscopy for visualizing and quantifying the behavior of energetic residues at the pore-scale.  相似文献

In situ neutron reflectivity (NR) is used to observe the structure and evolution of a Trivalent Chromium Process (TCP) passive film on Al in a NaCl-D(2)O solution. Using a split liquid reflectivity cell we mimicked the corrosion process on the anodic sites in alloy AA 2024-T3 in a pitting scenario. The split cell separates the anodic and cathodic reactions, allowing NR observation of the corroding anodic surface under potential control. We observed the evolution of the TCP film on the Al anode and compared the degradation of the Al with and without TCP protection. When held at 100 mV above the open-circuit potential (OCP), unprotected aluminum dissolves at a rate of 120 ?/h. By contrast, TCP-coated Al is stable up to the pitting potential (200 mV above OCP). In the passive state D(2)O molecules penetrate the bulk TCP film by partially replacing the hydrate water. In spite of exchange of hydration water, the TCP film is stable and the underlying aluminum is fully protected. The passive character of the TCP film is due to a dense layer at the metal-TCP interface and/or to suppression of ion transport in the bulk film. As the pitting potential is approached the film swells and NaCl-D(2)O solution penetrates the TCP film. At this point, 50 vol % of the TCP film is occupied by bulk NaCl-D(2)O solution. Failure occurs by aluminum dissolution under the swollen TCP film as the imbibed solution contacts the Al metal. Further increase in potential leads to complete stripping of the TCP film.  相似文献
