Drug screening for antimalarials uses heme biocrystallization inhibition methods as an alternative to parasite cultures, but they involve complex processes and cannot detect artemisinin-like molecules. The described method detects heme-binding compounds by mass spectrometry, using dissociation of the drug-heme adducts to evaluate putative antiplasmodial activity. Applied to a chemical library, it showed a good hit-to-lead ratio and is an efficient early stage screening for complex mixtures like natural extracts.  相似文献

Gold nanoflowers (GNFs) prepared by reduction of HAuCl4 by ascorbic acid were capped with human serum albumin (HSA) by either electrostatic or covalent attachment to prevent their self‐aggregation. Measurement of surface plasmon resonance absorbance changes under different stress conditions showed that GNFs stabilised by covalent attachment of HSA were more stable than those stabilised by electrostatic attachment. Laccase-initiated oxidative coupling reactions of phenol and its derivatives with 4-aminoantipyrene using air as an oxidant has been investigated. The oxidation reaction of phenols and 4-aminoantipyrene is getting a lot of attention due to environmental concerns. Oxidation of simple phenol and 4-aminoantipyrene as a benchmark reaction enabled us to rank the relative oxidation ability of various laccases. Among the laccases tested, laccase from Pycnoporus cinnabarinus successfully yielded 72% antipyrilquinoneimine dye. The present method can also be used to determine p-substituted phenols and chlorophenols. In this work, the influence of mediators on laccase activity has also been studied.  相似文献

Molecular interaction in two-dimensional(2D)van der Waals(vdW)interfaces has drawn tremendous attention for extraordinary materials characteristics.Sofar sensing characteristics of molecular interaction has been exploited extensively to reach the detection limit to a few parts-per-billion(ppb)of molecules and far less attention is given to the evolution of persistent current state due to the molecular exposure.Our study focuses on molecular memory operation of MoS2-graphene heterostructure based field effect transistor.Metastable resistance state of the device due to the external perturbation of molecules is tuned to get a nearly relaxation free current state at much lower molecular concentration of 10 ppb tofacilitate non-volatile memory features for molecular memory operation.An ultrafast switching operation in milli-second order is achieved at room temperature for the fastest recovery obtained sofar in any molecular sensor.The process is co-controlled both by molecular as well as external charge density.  相似文献

Text composition software is mainly used by compositors, who are usually not programmers, and who do not necessarily know much about the underlying technicalities of computer usage. It is important, therefore, that the text composition system be such that a compositor would have a minimum amount of learning to do. Factors such as flexibility of style specification and economical proof generation are important from a user's point of view. On the other hand, multilingual text input, output device independence and system portability are points of concern for the system designer. In this paper, a specific text composition software system designed on the basis of such considerations is briefly described. The way in which the above-mentioned factors affect the design of the system is discussed in some detail.  相似文献

The effect of 0, 0.5, 1.0, 2.0, 4.0 and 6.0% of calcium formate on the hydration of C3S has been studied. Free lime determinations, non-evaporable water content, pH of the liquid phase, zeta potential, thermal analysis and infrared spectral studies have been made for understanding the mechanism of action of calcium formate. Results indicate that calcium formate acts as an accelerator up to 2%. Above this concentration, the excess of it has practically no effect.  相似文献

Excess slag foam growth is a frequent problem in the BOS process. In the worst case, foam is forced out of the vessel and this phenomenon, commonly called slopping, not only results in loss of valuable metal yield but also in equipment damage and lost production time. In order to minimize slopping, accurate estimation of the foam level inside the vessel is an important part of BOS process control. In the top blown BOS vessel, slopping control is achieved using both static and dynamic measures. The most common implemented technique for dynamic foam height estimation and slopping control is the audiometer system. An alternative method, vessel vibration monitoring, has been investigated as part of the work in a RFCS funded research project called IMPHOS. In order to judge the usefulness of this method, parallel vibration and audio measurements have been carried out on 130 tonne as well as on 300 tonne BOS vessels. The results show that during stable process conditions there is good agreement between the two methods with regard to foam height estimation and, as vessel vibration and audiometry are largely independent of each other, a combination of the two is likely to increase significantly the accuracy of slopping prediction.  相似文献

Whetlerite carbon, which is in use in nuclear, biological and chemical filtration systems can degrade highly volatile chemical warfare gases such as phosgene, cyanogen chloride, hydrogen cyanide, etc. Degradation of vesicants such as sulphur mustard (HD) over whetlerite has not been extensively studied, except that the probability of some hydrolysis has been reported. In order to investigate the latter and incorporate HD degradation capability to the filter adsorbent, indigenous whetlerite carbon containing sodium hydroxide was further impregnated with various in situ degradation capable impregnants. The prepared adsorbent materials (impregnated modified whetlerite systems) were studied for in situ degradation of HD at ambient temperature. Degradation kinetics monitored by GC/FID was found to be pseudo-first-order. Kinetic rate constant and half-life values of degradation were calculated.Hemimustard, thiodiglycol, 1,4-oxathiane, sulphoxide and vinyl-2-chloroethyl sulphide were found to be the degradation products with modified whetlerite (MWh) and modified whetlerite impregnated with 11-molybdo-1-vanadophosphoric acid (MWh/V1) systems indicating that oxidative, hydrolytic and dehydrohalogenation decompositions are responsible for HD degradation. Effect of moisture on HD degradation was also studied on MWh and MWh/V1 systems, indicating that the rate of degradation increases with increasing moisture content.  相似文献
