To investigate the influence of pressure and temperature on the jet velocity of a three-dimensional flow was the main goal of this study. Using a precipitation chamber with approximate capacity of 600 mL, it was studied the thermodynamic behavior of supercritical carbon dioxide mixture, dichloromethane and grape seed extract via SAS (supercritical antisolvent process). For the numerical solution, the Navier-Stokes equations were used along with the model of turbulence k-ε and Peng-Robinson equation of state with quadratic mixing rules of Van der Waals. The method of Chung was employed to determine the viscosity, thermal conductivity and mass diffusivity of the flow numerically solved through commercial code based on CFD (computational fluid dynamics). Simulations for pressures between 80 bar and 160 bar and temperatures between 308.15 K and 318.15 K showed large variations in the jet velocity, an important property in the dynamic mixing process that involves the size, size distribution and particle morphology. 相似文献

BACKGROUND: There is a considerable loss of volatile compounds during the thermal concentration of cashew apple juice, damaging product quality, and as yet there is little research on the subject. Thus the purpose of this research was to identify the aroma volatiles evaporated off from cashew apple juice and recovered in the water phase during concentration of this beverage in an industrial plant. Water phase volatiles were extracted using dichloromethane, concentrated under a nitrogen flow, separated by gas chromatography (GC) and identified by GC‐mass spectrometry. In order to determine the contribution of each volatile to the cashew aroma, five trained judges evaluated the GC effluents using the Osme GC‐olfactometry technique. RESULTS: 71 volatiles were identified; of these, 47 were odour active. Alcohols were preferentially recovered in the cashew water phase, notably heptanol, trans ‐3‐hexen‐1‐ol and 3‐methyl‐1‐butanol, representing 42% of the total chromatogram area and imparting green grass and fruity aroma notes to the water phase. Esters represented 21% of the total chromatogram area, especially ethyl 2‐hydroxyhexanoate, ethyl trans ‐2‐butenoate and ethyl 2‐methylbutanoate, and were responsible for the fruity/cashew‐like aroma of the water phase. On the other hand, 3‐methylbutanoic and 2‐methylbutanoic acids were the volatiles that presented the greatest odour impact in the GC effluents of the water phase. CONCLUSION: Overall, the results of the present study strongly indicated that further concentration of the esters recovered in the water phase, either by partial distillation or by alternative technologies such as pervaporation, could generate a higher‐quality natural cashew apple essence. Highly branched alkoxysilane (HB) units were prepared in situ via a Michael‐type reaction between pentaerythrithol triacrylate and aminopropyltriethoxysilane. These units were used as an inorganic component for the modification of cellulose acetate (CA) films using the sol–gel process. The thermal and dynamic‐mechanical behaviors, the morphology, and the dimensional stability of the modified CA films were analyzed. The siloxane‐modified CA films showed thermal stability similar to pure CA, but the residue content at 900°C increased with the addition of HB units. The morphology of these films was characterized by siloxane nanodomains dispersed in the CA matrix, with good interfacial adhesion between the phases. Moreover, the CA/siloxane nanocomposite films showed improved dimensional stability in comparison with CA, i.e., in the presence of HB, the dimensional change was reduced to around 50% of the value observed for pure CA. Finally, a complex dynamic‐mechanical behavior was obtained for the nanocomposite films, as a consequence of the heterogeneous morphology. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Appl Polym Sci, 2011 相似文献

Nanoparticles of metal–organic frameworks (MOF NPs) are crystalline hybrid micro- or mesoporous nanomaterials that show great promise in biomedicine due to their significant drug loading ability and controlled release. Herein, we develop porous capsules from aggregate of nanoparticles of the iron carboxylate MIL-100(Fe) through a low-temperature spray-drying route. This enables the concomitant one-pot encapsulation of high loading of an antitumor drug, methotrexate, within the pores of the MOF NPs, and the collagenase enzyme (COL), inside the inter-particular mesoporous cavities, upon the formation of the capsule, enhancing tumor treatment. This association provides better control of the release of the active moieties, MTX and collagenase, in simulated body fluid conditions in comparison with the bare MOF NPs. In addition, the loaded MIL-100 capsules present, against the A-375 cancer cell line, selective toxicity nine times higher than for the normal HaCaT cells, suggesting that MTX@COL@MIL-100 capsules may have potential application in the selective treatment of cancer cells. We highlight that an appropriate level of collagenase activity remained after encapsulation using the spray dryer equipment. Therefore, this work describes a novel application of MOF-based capsules as a dual drug delivery system for cancer treatment. 相似文献

Cisplatin is associated with dose-limiting nephrotoxicity, and the timely detection of acute kidney injury (AKI) can affect morbimortality. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the tools for monitoring renal function in AKI. This was a retrospective, cohort study. Cisplatin-treated patients with head and neck cancer were included. Nephrotoxicity was assessed using serum creatinine, estimated creatinine clearance, serum electrolytic alterations, and plasma kidney injury molecule-1 (KIM-1). The toxicity severity was classified according to Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events (CTCAE), and AKI was classified by Risk, Injury, Failure, Loss, and End-stage kidney disease (RIFLE) and Acute Kidney Injury Network (AKIN). A total of 81 participants were included, of whom only 32 did not have AKI. Almost 90% of participants had a decreased estimated glomerular filtration rate five (D5) days after chemotherapy. The AKI estimate differs between AKIN and RIFLE; more participants were diagnosed by the RIFLE at D5, 19.5% versus 2.4% by AKIN, and fifteen had a discordance between these classifications. All laboratory markers showed significant changes on D5. KIM-1 appeared a possible biomarker when considering CTCAE or AKIN classifications (p < 0.05 on D5), but not when RIFLE classification was used (p = 0.0780). Further studies may seek to understand the profiles of different biomarkers together. 相似文献

This article enumerates the detailed anatomy of Cantinoa althaeifolia (Lamiaceae) illustrated with light and scanning electron microscopy images. The anatomical markers include the presence of branched nonglandular trichomes and capitate, peltate, and clavate types of glandular trichomes; prismatic crystals on the leaf and stem surfaces; and oil droplets in the leaf mesophyll. Histochemical tests and EDS analyses were performed in order to detect the composition of certain cells and their contents. The key findings of the present study can contribute to the taxonomy, species identification, and quality control of Cantinoa althaeifolia. 相似文献

Edible kernels have been popular food items since ancient times. Although in-shell nuts are naturally protected and relatively shelf stable, convenience demands require their commercialization in shelled form. However, whereas shelled kernels are more convenient, they are more exposed to oxygen, and thus more susceptible to oxidative rancidity and loss of crunchiness, which negatively affect the product acceptability. In this review, we discuss the role of edible coatings in extending stability of edible kernels, which is an opportunity to be better explored by the industry. The discussion also includes the role of antioxidants in the context of active coatings. Finally, future prospects and research challenges are addressed. © 2019 Society of Chemical Industry 相似文献
