Accurate calibrations of gauges to ever lower pressures (higher vacuum) are increasingly becoming necessary. The calibrations
over the entire ultra high vacuum (UHV) range i.e. up to 10−10 Pa are already sometimes demanded by the users of vacuum measuring devices. Standards covering part of this range are available
in some national metrological laboratories while primary standards covering the entire UHV range are under development. However,
the most suitable principle of the primary standard for generating such a low pressure is still not clear. In spite of some
attempts during the last century no sufficiently accurate absolute (“calibration-free”) gauge for high vacuum (HV) and UHV
ranges has been developed to date. Apparatuses for generating gas pressure in a dynamic flow control method will continue
to be used as primary standards for the UHV range, but, by virtue of technical difficulties, the equilibrium (Maxwellian velocity
distribution) will be severely disturbed during the process of pressure generation that the pressure in the chamber will not
be defined as a simple scalar quantity. This principal problem must be solved first by the development of a primary UHV standard.
Another serious problem in the design of an apparatusfor generating controlled pressures on the order of 10−10 Pa requires the uncontrolled changes of gas pressure to 10−12 Pa or lower. Hence an extremely high vacuum (XHV) apparatus must be used in which the requirements concerning the pumps and

In the present study a mathematical model has been applied to interpret the permeate flux decay that occurs during the process of concentrating skim milk by ultrafiltration using a commercial membrane module. The effects on membrane fouling of two operational variables, temperature and transmembrane pressure, have been studied using technical parameters. An energy analysis has demonstrated that the major energy consumption takes place in the thermal process and not in the mechanical pumping of the fluid. In addition, higher increments in permeate volume can be achieved by increasing transmembrane pressure, not temperature. The mathematical analysis presented here permits the evaluation of optimum values of the engineering parameters necessary to design and operate skim milk ultrafiltration units. 相似文献

Hexabromocyclododecane (HBCD) is the third most used brominated flame retardant globally, and has been found widely distributed in the environment. The present study reports concentrations and spatial patterns of α, β and γ-HBCD in a contaminated Norwegian fjord. Intertidal surface sediment and selected species from the marine food web were sampled at five locations in increasing distance from a known point source of HBCD. All sediment and biota samples were analyzed for the three HBCD diastereomers by liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry (LC/MS). The results demonstrated a HBCD gradient with decreasing concentrations at increasing distance from the point source in sediment and sedentary species, but less so in the species with large feeding ranges. Mean concentrations of ΣHBCD at the closest/most remote locations relative to the point source were 9000/300 ng g− 1 TOC in sediment and 150/90 ng g− 1 lw in the species with largest feeding range (great black-backed gull). The HBCD diastereomer patterns were similar for each of the matrices (sediment, organisms) independent of distance from the source, indicating no difference in environmental partitioning between the diastereomers. However, the concentration ratio of diastereomers in each matrix ranged from 3:1:10 (α:β:γ) in the sediments to 55:1 (α:γ) in the highest trophic level species, suggesting diastereomer-specific bioaccumulation in the organisms. 相似文献

Maturity is defined as a measure to evaluate the capabilities of an organization in regards to a certain discipline. The Collaborative Planning Process is a very complex process and Coordination mechanisms are especially relevant in this field to align the plans of the supply chain members. The objective of this paper is to develop a maturity model and a methodology to perform assessment for the Structural Elements of Coordination Mechanisms in the Collaborative Planning Process. Structural elements are specified in order to characterize coordination mechanisms in a collaborative planning context and they have been defined as key areas to be assessed by the maturity model. The identified structural elements are: number of decision-makers, collaboration level, interdependence relationships nature, interdependence relationships type, number of coordination mechanisms, information exchanged, information processing, decision sequence characteristics and stopping criteria. Structural elements are assessed using the scheme of five levels: Initial, Repeatable, Defined, Managed and Optimized. Abstract The roman-photo, a kitsch, devitalized genre, is at the opposite end of the spectrum to the more experimental, analytical genre of the photo narrative. While the former targets a huge popular audience -like pop music or commercial cinema- the latter is intended for a select circle of intellectuals interested in fringe movements and the creative impact of mass-market publications on art. On the one hand, there is the roman-photo, a medium for outmoded mythology, trapped within a fixed framework and, on the other, there is the slick, self-referential experimental photo narrative, which systematically explores the genre's specificity and encourages the reader to play an active role in the formulation of meaning. Bringing about a genuine renewal of the photo story, however, is by no means an easy task: merely throwing oneself into a scholarly critique of the genre could lead to a dead end, while a continually ironic treatment, serving as a reference to the forms adopted by the romance photo story,1 represents an inherently flirtatious approach as opposed to a serious attempt to create a new future for the genre.2 相似文献

Quasi-flat zones are morphological operators which segment the image into homogeneous regions according to certain criteria. They are used as an image simplification tool or an image segmentation pre-processing, but they induced a very important oversegmentation. Several filtering methods have been proposed to deal with this issue but they suffer from different drawbacks, e.g., loss of quality or edge deformation. In this article, we propose a new method based on existing approaches which achieves better or similar results than existing approaches, does not suffer from their drawbacks and requires less computation time.
