The phase-change memory (PCM) technology is considered as one of the most attractive non-volatile memory concepts for next generation data storage. It relies on the ability of a chalcogenide material belonging to the Ge-Sb-Te compound system to reversibly change its phase between two stable states, namely the poly-crystalline low-resistive state and the amorphous high-resistive state, allowing the storage of the logical bit. A careful study of the phase-change material properties in terms of the set operation performance, the program window and the electrical switching parameters as a function of composition is very attractive in order to enlarge the possible PCM application spectrum. Concerning the set performance, a crystallization kinetics based interpretation of the observed behavior measured on different Ge-Sb-Te compounds is provided, allowing a physics-based comprehension of the reset-to-set transition.  相似文献

Three dimensional optical data storage is one of the most promising tools to respond to the always growing demand for high data storage capacity. Here, we focused a femtosecond laser source by means of a confocal microscope onto different transparent recording media. The purpose of the study is to probe the capability of the system to independently address different data layers within the storage medium achieving thus three dimensional data storage. We demonstrated the possibility to write superposed independent layers of data due to either multiphoton excitation or to local optical breakdown and the performances observed in the different types of media used are compared.  相似文献

Radial symmetrical hexapod robots have attracted the attention of the research community because of their flexibility. There is nonetheless still much to study on their kinematics, dynamics and locomotion. In this paper, initially, full body kinematics of a radial symmetrical six-legged robot with statically stable movements are reviewed. The kinematics analysis is made on cooperated swing legs over supporting legs. Using the robot screw theory and exponential product equations, the velocities and accelerations referring to the object reference frame of each robot part are presented in a compact form. This makes it easy to calculate kinetic energy and so to build the dynamics model using the Lagrangian method. Many ways of walking of six-legged robots have been introduced in specialized literature. However, mobility comparison is still open to research. Two main aspects of mobility are analyzed in detail in this paper. The first one concerns the mobility of three statically stable ways of walking (the insect-wave gait, mammal-kick gait and mixed gait) with the same duty factor on the same radial symmetrical hexapod robot. The stability, energy efficiency, turning flexibility, and terrain or environment adaptability among those gaits have been compared. The mixed gait presents important advantages over the other two, while those two are useful for some special terrain conditions where the mixed gait is limited. The second aspect that has been analyzed focuses on the mobility of the body. The body height, measured from the body bottom to the supporting surface, and the stride optimization factors are proposed according to the obstacles’ configuration and the energy optimization. The results of our study can be used for the intelligent locomotion control of some articulated multi-legged robots for walking statically-stably on a complicated surface.Most of our analyses have been successfully verified on the prototype which has been designed by Politecnico di Milano (POLIMI) and Beijing University of Astronautics and Aeronautics (BUAA) and developed by POLIMI in 2007.  相似文献

Mediterranean basins are known for their susceptibility to water stress conditions resulting from a reduction in winter-season precipitation. This region is also prone to the effects of the North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO), a large-scale climatic pattern associated with a displacement of air mass between the arctic and the subtropical Atlantic. Even though previous studies have demonstrated the impact of the NAO on winter climate conditions in Europe and Northern Africa, it is still unclear to what extent the NAO is related to hydroclimatic patterns in Mediterranean areas and whether it can explain its recent drought history. To this end, this study investigates the interdependence between the NAO and winter precipitation, river flow and temperature in two Mediterranean regions: Southern Italy and Nile Delta (Egypt). The outcomes show the presence of significant connections between the NAO, winter rainfall and river discharge.  相似文献

We describe a procedure for the labeling of membranous vesicular purified subcellular fractions, to image them, typically by confocal laser scanning microscopy. Being intracellular organelles, these fractions, once purified cannot be attached to glass slides as for cells. Fractions are labeled “in batch” without prior embedding or freezing. Each labeling step performed by passages of resuspension/centrifugation is followed by washings. Then samples are dispersed on the glass slides. Mammalian retinal rod outer segment disks, intact brain stem myelin vesicles, and brain synaptosomes were chosen, as these subcellular fractions can be purified by well established procedures. These fractions were immunolabeled with specific antibodies. Moreover, by the earlier procedure, we show that the mitochondrial vital membrane potential probe MitoTracker Deep Red 633 stains myelin vesicles and rod disks before fixation, consistently with our previous reports of a respiring capacity of these membranes. Therefore, the technique seems adequate to become an instrument to study the structure and the function of these and other subcellular fractions. Microsc. Res. The mechanical properties of various steel bars exposed to high temperature (“residual” properties) are experimentally investigated up to 850 °C, with reference to a number of steel and bar types (carbon and stainless steel; quenched and self-tempered bars; hot-rolled and cold-worked bars; smooth and deformed bars). The aim is to clarify to what extent the thermal sensitivity of the different bars affects the ultimate capacity of a typical R/C section subjected to an eccentric axial force, past a fire (“residual” capacity). As usual in the design of R/C sections under combined bending and axial loading, the ultimate behavior is represented through the “M–N envelopes”, where the materials strength decay due to high temperature is taken into account. The results show that quenched and self-tempered bars (QST), very popular in Europe, are more temperature-sensitive above 600 °C than the carbon-steel bars extensively used in the States and nowadays rarely used in Europe. Furthermore, the best response is exhibited by the stainless-steel bars, provided that they are hot rolled, as it is generally the case for medium- and large-diameter bars. Similar conclusions can be drawn for the sections reinforced with the different bar types.  相似文献

There are practical situations in which the quality of a process or product can be better characterized by a functional relationship between a response variable and one or more explanatory variables, which is called profile. Such profiles frequently can be represented adequately using linear or nonlinear models. While there are several studies in monitoring profiles, there are few studies to evaluate the capability of a process with profile quality characteristic; specifically, there is no method in the literature to analyze process capability characterized by nonlinear profiles. In this paper, we propose two methods to measure the capability of these processes, based on the concept of functional depth. These methods do not have distributional assumptions and extend to functional data the Process Capability Indexes proposed by Clements 1 to measure the capability of a process characterized by a random variable. Multiple‐input multiple‐output (MIMO) systems have attracted considerable attention in wireless communications because they offer a significant increase in data throughput and link coverage without additional bandwidth requirement or increased transmit power. The price that has to be paid is the increased complexity of hardware components and algorithms. The sphere detector (SD) algorithm solves the problem of maximum likelihood (ML) detection for MIMO channels by significantly reducing the search space of possible solutions. The main drawback of the SD algorithm is in its sequential nature, consequently, running it on massively parallel architectures (MPAs) is very inefficient. In order to overcome the drawbacks of the SD algorithm, a new parallel sphere detector (PSD) algorithm is proposed. It implements a novel hybrid tree search method, where the algorithm parallelism is assured by the efficient combination of depth‐first search and breadth‐first search algorithms. A path metric‐based parallel sorting is employed at each intermediate stage. The PSD algorithm is able to adjust its memory requirements and extent of parallelism to fit a wide range of parallel architectures. Mapping details for MPAs are proposed by giving the details of thread dependent, highly parallel building blocks of the algorithm. Based on the building blocks proposed, a mapping to general‐purpose graphics processing unit is provided, and its performance is evaluated.
