We present an integrated vehicular system for the collection, management, and provision of context-aware information on traffic and driver location. This system uses an integrated vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) communication paradigm enriched with an information management system. The infrastructure manages vehicle-detected safety hazards and other relevant information, adapting them to the vehicle's context and driver's preferences. In the last years, metaheuristics have emerged as powerful algorithmic approaches which have been applied with great success to difficult combinatorial optimization problems. However, this does not mean that metaheuristics can be applied blindly to any new problem.In this contribution we showed how the most basic ingredients of Soft Computing, namely fuzzy sets and fuzzy rules, are used in the context of a simple metaheuristic and a cooperative strategy based on it, to obtain successful results for the p-median problem. 相似文献
OBJECTIVE: a) To find the reasons for inadequate use of Hospital Casualty Departments (HCDs); b) to discover the general population's levels of information concerning non-hospital Emergency Services (NESs); c) to analyse the relationship between the type of Primary Care Centre (PCC), i.e. whether reformed or not, and inadequate use of HCDs. DESIGN: A crossover study. SETTING: The Germans Trias i Pujol Hospital Casualty Department, Badalona. PATIENTS: A random sample of 321 patients over 14 years old, who were attended for pathologies considered emergencies not requiring hospital treatment. MEASUREMENTS AND MAIN RESULTS: The variables gathered were: age, gender, where the patient came from, reason for hospital use, knowledge of NESs and subsequent referral. 83.2% of patients attended on their own initiative. The main reasons given were "advantages of a hospital" and "the persistence of symptoms." 49% of the patients stated they knew of the NESs. 80% of the patients proceeded from PCCs which had not been reformed. There were no statistically significant differences (p > 0.05) when the variables "reason for use" and "knowledge of NESs" were compared in relation to where the patient came from (i.e. reformed or non-reformed PCC). CONCLUSIONS: General practitioners in reformed PCCs are less likely to refer to HCDs. Knowledge and use of NESs should be actively supported. 相似文献
There have been many linear regression models proposed to analyze mixture experiments including the Scheffé model, the slack-variable model, and the Kronecker model. The use of the slack-variable model is somewhat controversial within the mixture experiment research community. However, in situations that the slack-variable ingredient is used to fill in the formulation and the remaining ingredients have constraints such that they can be chosen independently of one another, the slack-variable model is extremely popular by practitioners mainly due to the ease of interpretation. In this article, we advocate that for some mixture experiments the slack-variable model has appealing properties including numerical stability and better prediction accuracy when model-term selection is performed. We also explain how the effects of the slack-variable model components should be interpreted and how easy it is for practitioners to understand the components effects. We also investigate how to choose the slack-variable component, what transformation should be used to reduce collinearity, and under what circumstances the slack-variable model should be preferred. Both simulation and practical examples are provided to support the conclusions. 相似文献
Dynamic fatigue of a low dielectric loss steatite was investigated. To this end, the values of n and B, the so‐called subcritical crack growth (SCG) parameters were experimentally determined. The steatite exhibited the expected dynamic fatigue behaviour, so that the stress corrosion susceptibility parameter, n, of 24 was obtained. In addition, the material/environment parameter B, which is a constant for a given test environment, was also attained. These parameters are instrumental in predicting the lifetime of components under stress. When the applied load is such that the resulting strength equals half of the inert strength (σi), defined as the strength of a sample tested in an inert environment or at a fast stress rate, i.e. where no subcritical crack growth occurs, the time to failure (tf) of the material was found to be ~140 h. Measurement of the fracture toughness of steatite is also of upmost importance and so it was determined using three test methods. A value of KIc = 1.91 ± 0.29 MPa m1/2 was attained by the indentation fracture method through measurement of the cracks emanating from the Vickers indentation. This value is in good agreement with those determined using the KIsc (surface crack in flexure) test method (2.21 ± 0.07 MPa m1/2) and fractography analysis test method (2.00 ± 0.44 MPa m1/2). Differences in test procedure and analysis causing the values from each test method to be different are discussed. 相似文献
Congenital facial anomalies, such as microtia (malformation of the external ear), lead to significant psychosocial effects starting from early childhood. Three-dimensional (3D) scanning and advanced manufacturing are being investigated as a cheaper and more personalised method of fabricating reconstructive treatments for patients compared to traditional approaches. To date, most case studies have used expensive 3D scanners, yet, there is potential for low-cost devices to provide comparable results. This study aimed to investigate these different approaches. Both ears of 16 adult participants were scanned with three devices: Artec Spider (Artec Group), Intel® RealSense? (Intel), and the Apple iPhone® 7 (Apple Inc.) combined with photogrammetry using 90, 60 and 30 photographs. The scanning time, processing time, accuracy, completeness, resolution and repeatability of each technique were assessed using the Artec Spider as a reference scanner. Our results show that the iPhone had the longest processing time however, this decreased nine-fold when reducing the number of photos from 90 to 30. There was no significant difference in the accuracy, completeness or repeatability of the iPhone scans with 90 photographs (1.4?±?0.6?mm, 79.9%, 1.0?±?0.1?mm), 60 photographs (1.2?±?0.2, 79.3%, 0.9?±?0.2?mm) or 30 photographs (1.2?±?0.3?mm, 74.3%, 1.0?±?0.2?mm). The Intel RealSesne performed significantly worse in each parameter (1.8?±?03?mm; 46.6%, 1.4?±?0.5). Additionally, the RealSense had significantly lower resolution with not enough detail captured for the application. These results demonstrate that the ear can be accurately 3D scanned using iPhone photographs. We would recommend capturing between 30 and 60 photographs of the ear to create a scan that is accurate but without the downfall of long processing time. Using these methods we aim to provide a more comfortable setting for the patient and a lower-cost and more personalised ear prosthesis. 相似文献
Although nanotechnology has led to important advances in in vitro diagnostics, the development of nanosensors for in vivo detection remains very challenging. Here, we demonstrated the proof-of-principle of in vivo detection of nucleic acid targets using a promising type of surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) nanosensor implanted in the skin of a large animal model (pig). The in vivo nanosensor used in this study involves the “inverse molecular sentinel” detection scheme using plasmonics-active nanostars, which have tunable absorption bands in the near infrared region of the “tissue optical window”, rendering them efficient as an optical sensing platform for in vivo optical detection. Ex vivo measurements were also performed using human skin grafts to demonstrate the detection of SERS nanosensors through tissue. In this study, a new core–shell nanorattle probe with Raman reporters trapped between the core and shell was utilized as an internal standard system for self-calibration. These results illustrate the usefulness and translational potential of the SERS nanosensor for in vivo biosensing.
At present, many countries allow citizens or entities to interact with the government outside the telematic environment through
a legal representative who is granted powers of representation. However, if the interaction takes place through the Internet,
only primitive mechanisms of representation are available, and these are mainly based on non-dynamic offline processes that
do not enable quick and easy identity delegation. This paper proposes a system of dynamic delegation of identity between two
generic entities that can solve the problem of delegated access to the telematic services provided by public authorities.
The solution herein is based on the generation of a delegation token created from a proxy certificate that allows the delegating
entity to delegate identity to another on the basis of a subset of its attributes as delegator, while also establishing in
the delegation token itself restrictions on the services accessible to the delegated entity and the validity period of delegation.
Further, the paper presents the mechanisms needed to either revoke a delegation token or to check whether a delegation token
has been revoked. Implications for theory and practice and suggestions for future research are discussed. 相似文献
The dispersal and mixing of scalar quantities such as concentrations or thermal energy are often modeled by advection-diffusion equations. Such problems arise in a wide variety of engineering, ecological and geophysical applications. In these situations a quantity such as chemical or pollutant concentration or temperature variation diffuses while being transported by the governing flow. In the passive scalar case, this flow prescribed and unaffected by the scalar. Both steady laminar and complex (chaotic, turbulent or random) time-dependent flows are of interest and such systems naturally lead to questions about the effectiveness of the stirring to disperse and mix the scalar. The development of reliable numerical methods for advection-diffusion equations is crucial for understanding their properties, both physical and mathematical. In this paper, we extend a fast explicit operator splitting method, recently proposed in (A. Chertock, A. Kurganov, G. Petrova, Int. J. Numer. Methods Fluids 59:309–332, 2009), for solving deterministic convection-diffusion equations, to the problems with random velocity fields and singular source terms. A superb performance of the method is demonstrated on several two-dimensional examples. 相似文献
