Human hand recognition plays an important role in a wide range of applications ranging from sign language translators, gesture recognition, augmented reality, surveillance and medical image processing to various Human Computer Interaction (HCI) domains. Human hand is a complex articulated object consisting of many connected parts and joints. Therefore, for applications that involve HCI one can find many challenges to establish a system with high detection and recognition accuracy for hand posture and/or gesture. Hand posture is defined as a static hand configuration without any movement involved. Meanwhile, hand gesture is a sequence of hand postures connected by continuous motions. During the past decades, many approaches have been presented for hand posture and/or gesture recognition. In this paper, we provide a survey on approaches which are based on Hidden Markov Models (HMM) for hand posture and gesture recognition for HCI applications.  相似文献

This paper investigates the problems of kinematics, Jacobian, singularity and workspace analysis of a spatial type of 3-PSP parallel manipulator. First, structure and motion variables of the robot are addressed. Two operational modes, non-pure translational and coupled mixed-type are considered. Two inverse kinematics solutions, an analytical and a numerical, for the two operational modes are presented. The direct kinematics of the robot is also solved utilizing a new geometrical approach. It is shown, unlike most parallel robots, the direct kinematics problem of this robot has a unique solution. Next, analytical expressions for the velocity and acceleration relations are derived in invariant form. Auxiliary vectors are introduced to eliminate passive velocity and acceleration vectors. The three types of conventional singularities are analyzed. The notion of non-pure rotational and non-pure translational Jacobian matrices is introduced. The non-pure rotational and non-pure translational Jacobian matrices are combined to form the Jacobian of constraint matrix which is then used to obtain the constraint singularity. Finally, two methods, a discretization method and one based on direct kinematics are presented and robot non-pure translation and coupled mixed-type reachable workspaces are obtained. The influence of tool length on workspace is also studied.  相似文献

Bankruptcy is an extremely significant worldwide problem that affects the economic well- being of all countries. The high social costs incurred by various stakeholders associated with bankrupt firms imply the need to search for better theoretical understanding and prediction quality. The main objective of this paper is to apply genetic programming with orthogonal least squares (GP/OLS) and with simulated annealing (GP/SA) algorithms to build models for bankruptcy prediction. Utilizing the hybrid GP/OLS and GP/SA techniques, generalized relationships are obtained to classify samples of 136 bankrupt and nonbankrupt Iranian corporations based on financial ratios. Another important contribution of this paper is to identify the effective predictive financial ratios based on an extensive bankruptcy prediction literature review and a sequential feature selection (SFS) analysis. A comparative study on the classification accuracy of the GP/OLS- and GP/SA-based models is also conducted. The observed agreement between the predictions and the actual values indicates that the proposed models effectively estimate any enterprise with regard to the aspect of bankruptcy. According to the results, the proposed GP/SA model has better performance than the GP/OLS model in bankruptcy prediction.  相似文献

An infrastructure approach to support context-aware pervasive computing is advantageous for rapid prototyping of context-aware distributed applications and beneficial for unifying modelling of context and reasoning in uncertain conditions. This paper presents the ECORA framework for context-aware computing, which is designed with a focus on reasoning about context under uncertainty and addressing issues of heterogeneity, scalability, communication and usability. The framework follows an agent-oriented hybrid approach, combining centralized reasoning services with context-aware, reasoning capable mobile software agents. The use of a centralized reasoning engine provides powerful reasoning capabilities and deploying context-aware mobile agents enables agility and robustness of components in the pervasive system. The design and implementation of the framework at different levels, as well as three case studies, are presented.  相似文献

We introduce the ABCD matrix for negative refractive materials (NRM) and investigate the optical properties of (NRM), according to the matrix method. The propagation of a Gaussian beam inside a NRM slab is also investigated. It is demonstrated that for n = −1, the waist of the transmitted Gaussian beam is the same as the waist of incident beam, which leads in the perfect lens. Further the optical resonator in the presence of NRM is studied and the stable condition is introduced. The article is published in the original.  相似文献

A systematic procedure for design of nonlinear H controllers for amplitude‐dependent nonlinear plants is presented. The procedure is based on describing function concepts involving sinusoidal input describing function models of the nonlinear plant followed by application of an inverse describing function technique to arrive at nonlinear gains of the H controller. The procedure is applied to a servomechanism problem to demonstrate the typical results that may be achieved. Reliable broadband communication is becoming increasingly important during disaster recovery and emergency response operations. In situations where infrastructure-based communication is not available or has been disrupted, an Incident Area Network needs to be dynamically deployed, i.e. a temporary network that provides communication services for efficient crisis management at an incident site. Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs) are multi-hop wireless networks with self-healing and self-configuring capabilities. These features, combined with the ability to provide wireless broadband connectivity at a comparably low cost, make WMNs a promising technology for incident management communications. This paper specifically focuses on hybrid WMNs, which allow both mobile client devices as well as dedicated infrastructure nodes to form the network and provide routing and forwarding functionality. Hybrid WMNs are the most generic and most flexible type of mesh networks and are ideally suited to meet the requirements of incident area communications. However, current wireless mesh and ad-hoc routing protocols do not perform well in hybrid WMN, and are not able to establish stable and high throughput communication paths. One of the key reasons for this is their inability to exploit the typical high degree of heterogeneity in hybrid WMNs. SafeMesh, the routing protocol presented in this paper, addresses the limitations of current mesh and ad-hoc routing protocols in the context of hybrid WMNs. SafeMesh is based on the well-known AODV routing protocol, and implements a number of modifications and extensions that significantly improve its performance in hybrid WMNs. This is demonstrated via an extensive set of simulation results. We further show the practicality of the protocol through a prototype implementation and provide performance results obtained from a small-scale testbed deployment.  相似文献
