This article presents the results of an experimental investigation of the performance of an integrated microchannel combustor evaporator. Separate experimental investigations were conducted on combustion in small channels and evaporation in microchannels. These results, along with the results of a simulation of heat transfer from the flue gas in microchannels, were used to design, and subsequently fabricate and test, microchannel combustor evaporators. Performance results showed that the combustor evaporator was capable of achieving high heat fluxes (up to 30 W/cm2) while maintaining a high combustor efficiency. 相似文献
This article presents the CFD calculations of the efficiency and the pressure drop in the cyclone with a 0.2 m diameter equipped with an obstacle – a flat disk, referred to as the plate. It is located in the lower part of the cyclone cone close to the dust outlet. The influence of three different positions and the diameter of the plate were analysed. The RANS equations with the RSM and DPM for particles motion were used. The presented study confirms that the use of the plate in the lower part of the cyclone may not improve its performance. 相似文献
Force-deformation and force-relaxation experiments were performed on amaranth seeds puffed at 290, 330 and 370°C. Less force and energy was required to cause a given deformation in seeds processed at 290°C than in those puffed at 330 and 370°C. It was also observed that the forces and energies required to produce a given deformation did not differ significantly (p ≤ 0.05) for seeds puffed at 330 and 370°C. The three-element generalized Maxwell model and Peleg model were applied for modeling force relaxation of puffed amaranth seeds. It was found that the generalized Maxwell model predicted the experimental data better than the Peleg model. The elastic parameters and asymptotic residual force of the generalized Maxwell model were significantly affected by puffing temperature, showing an increase with its rise. Relaxation times were not significantly affected by the puffing temperature. It was concluded that a higher puffing temperature resulted in a more rigid material and less viscous behavior. 相似文献
Heterocyclic Aromatic Amine (HAA) profiles and concentrations depended on several factors. The largest changes in the HAA profile were observed in meat ripened (chill stored) for 5-10days. Amines whos concentration varied most prominently included: Phe-P 1, harmane, AαC, IQ, IQx, PhIP, MeAαC, and MeIQx. HAA concentrations were strongly correlated with concentrations of the above compounds. Time of storage significantly affected the HAA profile and concentration. The profile changed dynamically for storage times up to 10days. For longer times the profile stabilized, only the HAA content increased. A novel, highly precise and accurate HAA analytical method was developed for this study. Results may help to optimize meat processing technology from the point of view of reducing concentration of HAA formed during heat treatment, including the most carcinogenic; IQ, IQx, MeIQx and PhIP amines. 相似文献
A series of coumarin-thiadiazole hybrids and their corresponding Cu(II) and Zn(II) complexes were synthesized and characterized with the use of spectroscopic techniques. The results obtained indicate that all the coumarin-thiadiazole hybrids act as bidentate chelators of Cu(II) and Zn(II) ions. The complexes isolated differ in their ligand:metal ratio depending on the central metal. In most cases, the Zn(II) complexes are characteristic of a 1:1 ligand:metal ratio, while in the Cu(II) complexes the ligand:metal ratio is 2:1. All compounds were tested as potential antibacterial agents against Gram-positive (Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis) and Gram-negative (Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa) bacterial strains demonstrating activities notably lower than commercially available antibiotics. The more promising results were obtained from the assessment of antineurodegenerative potency as all compounds showed moderate acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibition activity 相似文献
Coal mine discharges in several European countries were investigated as part of the European Commission’s MANAGER project. The emphasis of the project was identification of priority pollutants and potential remedial approaches. The main identified priority pollutants were sulphate (all countries) and iron (all countries except Greece). High concentrations of chloride (particularly in Germany and Poland) were associated with discharge of saline mine waters linked to the presence of fossil sea water; these mine waters also had high boron concentrations, in contrast to chloride-rich waters in UK that are linked to recent sea water inflow. Concentrations of trace metals vary among countries, but radium is an important contaminant in barium-rich waters with low sulphate concentrations, essentially in Poland. Concentrations of trace metals and metalloids were generally low because of their relative scarcity in coal strata and adsorption onto ferric oxides and hydroxides, but they still often exceeded the environmental quality thresholds.
Atmospheric measurements of semivolatile organic compounds (SOCs) were made at Mt Bachelor Observatory (MBO), located in Oregon's Cascade Range, to understand the trans-Pacific and regional transport of SOCs from urban areas. High volume air sampling (approximately 644 m3 for 24 h periods) of both the gas and particulate phases was conducted from April 19, 2004 to May 13, 2006 (n = 69); including NASA's INTEX-B campaign in spring 2006 (n = 34 of 69). Air mass back trajectories were calculated and were used to calculate source region impact factors (SRIFs), the percentage of time the sampled air mass resided in a given source region. Particulate-phase polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) concentrations at MBO increased with the percentage of air mass time in Asia and, in conjunction with other data, provided strong evidence that particulate-phase PAHs are emitted from Asia and undergo trans-Pacific atmospheric transport to North America. Gas-phase PAH and fluorotelomer alcohol (FTOH) concentrations significantly increased with the percentage of air mass time in California's urban areas, whereas retene and polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) concentrations increased with the percentage of air mass time in Oregon and during regional fire events. In addition, sigma(gas-phase) PAH, retene, and levoglucosan concentrations were significantly correlated (p-value < 0.001) with sigma(PCB) concentrations, suggesting that increased atmospheric PCB concentrations were associated with fires due to the volatilization of stored PCBs from soil and vegetation. 相似文献
