The liquid phase formation in the system AlN–Al2O3–Y2O3 was investigated via differential thermal analysis (DTA) combined with thermogravimetry (TG). For this purpose 17 samples covering a broad composition area of the quasi-ternary system were densified and heat-treated to achieve the equilibrium state. Melting temperatures were determined by DTA. SEM, EDX and XRD were used to study the phase assemblages and microstructures formed. The results were compared with thermodynamic calculations.  相似文献

In the present paper, we study the influence of defects through their stress fields on the electrical activity and residual stress states of as-grown edge-defined film-feed (EFG) multicrystalline silicon (mc-Si) ribbons. We apply a combination of micro-Raman spectroscopy, electron beam induced current, defect etching and electron backscatter diffraction techniques that enables us to correlate internal stresses, recombination activity and microstructure on the micrometer scale. The stress fields of defect structures are considered to be too small (several tens of MPa) to influence directly the electrical activity, but they can enhance it via stress-induced accumulation of metallic impurities. It is commonly found that not all recombination-active dislocations on grain boundaries (GBs) and within grains are accompanied by internal stresses. The reason for this is that dislocations interact with each other and tend to locally rearrange in configurations of minimum strain energy in which their stress fields can cancel partially, totally or not at all. The outcome is a nonuniform distribution of electrical activity and internal stresses along the same GB, along different GBs of similar character as well as inside the same grain and inside different grains of similar crystallographic orientations. Our work has implications for developing crystal growth procedures that may lead to reduced internal stresses and consequently to improved electrical quality and mechanical stability of mc-Si materials by means of controlled interaction between structural defects.  相似文献

The network inhomogeneity and the cooperative motion of the network chains of random cross-linked poly(styrene-co-maleic anhydride) gels were investigated by dynamic light scattering. Measurements were performed for gels in the preparation state as well as in the swelling equilibrium. Network inhomogeneities and cooperative motion were analyzed at varying the cross-linker concentration and the polymer volume fraction. While the cross-linker concentration has only a minor influence on the inhomogeneity and the diffusion constant Dcoop, the polymer volume fraction clearly influences both measured properties. The concentration dependence of Dcoop can be well described by a power law, as known for semi-dilute polymer solutions. In the preparation state the networks appear homogeneous, exhibiting dynamic contributions to the scattering intensity of 70-90%. Swollen to equilibrium stage, significant heterogeneities emerge, reducing the dynamic contributions to 10-20%.  相似文献

Optimum rectangular waveguide E-plane branch guide phase shifters and 180° branch guide couplers are designed with the rigorous method of field expansion into normalized eigenmodes. The design includes both the higher order mode interaction between the step discontinuities and the finite step and branch heights. The phase shifter design applies the Schiffman principle to branch guide couplers where two ports are short-circuited. The 180° coupler design combines the advantage of the broadband potential of multiple-branch couplers with the low-insertion-loss qualities of E-plane stub-loaded phase shifters. A computer-optimized phase shifter prototype for the waveguide Ku-band (12-18 GHz) shows a 90°±1° differential phase shift with reference to an empty waveguide within about 23% bandwidth. Five-branch three-stub coupler prototypes, designed for 3±0.2 dB coupling, for the waveguide Ku- and Ka-bands (26-40 GHz) achieve a 180°±1° differential phase shift at the output ports within about 19% bandwidth, as well as more than 30 dB isolation and return loss. A rigorous finite-difference formulation for the hybrid-mode analysis of coupled diffused dielectric channel waveguides is presented. The method includes the two-dimensional continuous index profile variations directly in the finite-difference form of coupled equations and avoids the shortcomings inherent in the usual staircase approximations. The formulation in terms of the wave equation for the transverse components of the magnetic field leads to an eigenvalue problem where the nonphysical, spurious modes do not appear. The analysis includes the complete set of hybrid-modes, takes mode-conversion effects and complex waves into account, if they exist, and allows the calculation of dielectric channel waveguides with large index difference levels. Dispersion characteristic examples are calculated for coupled structures suitable for optical integrated circuits. The theory verified by comparison with results available from other methods  相似文献

Comments on the article by A. Ortmann and R. Hertwig (see record 1997-04731-011) in which they vehemently argue against any deception of participants in psychological research. Their sophisticated arguments against deception in research are neither precise nor imperative, addressing only questionable negative long-term effects of deception in research. It is argued that (1) acceptability of an experimental treatment and acceptability of deception must be kept separate, (2) deception is necessary in research on certain topics, and (3) participants understand and even accept deception when they are carefully debriefed. This contribution is devoted to study of the thermal stability and growth of gold nanoparticles supported on SiO2/Si(111) and Al2O3/SiO2/Si(111) as a function of initial cluster size, support material and level of surface coverage.
