The documentation of archeological sites requires the adoption of non‐destructive techniques to safeguard the unique legacy coming from prehistoric periods. This article tackles the assessment of lightfastness properties on a rock art site to determine the behavior of motif's color deterioration over time in Remígia Cave, Castellón (Spain), which is considered part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The measurements were performed using a microfade testing device to analyze the spectral characteristics and the aging properties of the colorant system and various substrates on site. Two scenarios have been identified depending on whether the lightness (L*) parameter of the rocky substrate changes or not in relation with the painted motifs. If the substrate remains stable without any change, red motifs containing iron oxide pigments will become more visible. If the substrate becomes lighter, the pigments will experience similar changes. In this paper, we report the intermatrix synthesis of Ag nanoparticles in different polymeric matrices such as polyurethane foams and polyacrylonitrile or polyamide fibers. To apply this technique, the polymer must bear functional groups able to bind and retain the nanoparticle ion precursors while ions should diffuse through the matrix. Taking into account the nature of some of the chosen matrices, it was essential to try to activate the support material to obtain an acceptable value of ion exchange capacity. Considering the importance that animal welfare has attained in developed countries, a personal interview of 770 regular meat buyers in the Bio-Bio and Araucanía regions of Chile was conducted to determine the importance of information regarding animal treatment prior to slaughter in the decision-making process when buying beef, to discover the willingness to pay more for this attribute and to distinguish different buyer segments. Using a conjoint analysis design, those surveyed were asked to put eight products in order according to their preference, given the following alternatives: domestic or imported beef, with or without information on animal treatment prior to slaughter and two price options. Origin and information regarding animal treatment were more important than price. Animal welfare is perceived as a desirable condition, but consumers are not willing to pay significantly more when buying meat in order to gain information about animal handling. Microsporidia are a large diverse group of intracellular parasites now considered as fungi. They are particularly prevalent in fish and are recognized as important opportunistic parasites in humans. Although the mode of transmission of microsporidia has not been fully clarified, the consumption and manipulation of infected fish may be a risk factor for humans. Comparative analysis of rDNA sequence revealed that the microsporidians used in the present study had 99-100% identity with anglerfish microsporidians of the genus Spraguea and very low identity with microsporidians that infect humans. Microsporidian spores were exposed to different physical and chemical treatments: freezing at -20°C for 24-78 h, heating at 60°C for 5-15 min, microwaving at 700 W, 2.45 GHz for 15-60s, and treatment with ethanol at concentrations of between 1 and 70% for 15 min. The viability of the spores after each treatment was evaluated by two methods: a) haemocytometer counts, measuring the extrusion of the polar filament in control and treated spores, and b) a fluorometric method, testing the membrane integrity by propidium iodide exclusion. The results of both methods were concordant. Spores were inactivated by freezing at -20°C for more than 48 h, by heating to 60°C for 10 min and by microwaving at 750 W, for 20s. Exposure to 70% ethanol for 15 min also inactivated microsporidian spores. The results suggest that both freezing and heating are effective treatments for destroying microsporidian spores in European white anglerfish, and that 70% ethanol could be used by fish processors to disinfect their hands and the utensils used in processing fish. The fluorometric method can be used as an alternative to haemocytometer counts in disinfection studies aimed at establishing strategies for inactivating and reducing the viability and the potential infectivity of microsporidians present in fish or in the environment. 相似文献

The mercury (Hg) content of 112 samples of common, wild edible mushrooms was analysed by atomic absorption spectrometry.
The average Hg content of all the samples was 1.72 mg/kg dry mass (DM) but the Hg concentrations found in different taxonomic
groups (genera and species varied) remarkably. Although different sampling locations obviously have an effect on the Hg concentration
of sporocarps, we found evidence for a Hg-accumulating capacity of some taxonomic groups. In addition to Agaricus and Macrolepiota, where the phenomenon of mercury accumulation has already been described, our results indicate high Hg levels in samples
of Lycoperdon perlatum (average 2.94 mg/kg DM) and in Lepista species (average 3.02 mg/kg DM). These data confirm the need for greater attention to be given to Hg levels in wild common
mushrooms, especially to Hg-accumulating species.

An experimental and numerical investigation of counterflow prevaporized partially premixed n-heptane flames is reported. The major objective is to provide well-resolved experimental data regarding the detailed structure and emission characteristics of these flames, including profiles of C1-C6, and aromatic species (benzene and toluene) that play an important role in soot formation. n-Heptane is considered a surrogate for liquid hydrocarbon fuels used in many propulsion and power generation systems. A counterflow geometry is employed, since it provides a nearly one-dimensional flat flame that facilitates both detailed measurements and simulations using comprehensive chemistry and transport models. The measurements are compared with predictions using a detailed n-heptane oxidation mechanism that includes the chemistry of NOx and PAH formation. The reaction mechanism was synergistically improved using pathway analysis and measured benzene profiles and then used to characterize the effects of partial premixing and strain rate on the flame structure and the production of NOx and soot precursors. Measurements and predictions exhibit excellent agreement for temperature and major species profiles (N2, O2, n-C7H16, CO2, CO, H2), and reasonably good agreement for intermediate (CH4, C2H4, C2H2, C3Hx) and higher hydrocarbon species (C4H8, C4H6, C4H4, C4H2, C5H10, C6H12) and aromatic species (toluene and benzene). Both the measurements and predictions also indicate the existence of two partially premixed regimes; a double flame regime for ?<5.0, characterized by spatially separated rich premixed and nonpremixed reaction zones, and a merged flame regime for ?>5.0. The NOx and soot precursor emissions exhibit strong dependence on partial premixing and strain rate in the first regime and relatively weak dependence in the second regime. At higher levels of partial premixing, NOx emission is increased due to increased residence time and higher peak temperature. In contrast, the emissions of acetylene and PAH species are reduced by partial premixing because their peak locations move away from the stagnation plane, resulting in lower residence time, and the increased amount of oxygen in the system drives the reactions to the oxidation pathways. The effects of partial premixing and strain rate on the production of PAH species become progressively stronger as the number of aromatic rings increases. 相似文献
