A detailed study is presented on the formation of MoO(2) nanoparticles from the dissolution of the precursor to the final rodlike product, with a focus on the exploration of the inorganic reaction occurring ahead of the nucleation step, and interplay between size and crystal structure of MoO(2). In situ X-ray absorption spectroscopy experiments show that the crystallization and the growth process of MoO(2) nanorods is initiated by rapid reduction of the MoO(2) Cl(2) precursor in benzyl alcohol and acetophenone. This reaction triggers the nucleation of 2 nm MoO(2) particles with spherical shape and hexagonal crystal structure. The transformation from spheres into rods emerges as a complex process driven by oriented attachment. High-resolution transmission electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction results provide evidence that the 2 nm particles first aggregate into 5-20 nm-large oriented assemblies. The increase in particle size induces the phase transition from hexagonal to the less symmetrical monoclinic crystal structure, and finally the transformation into rods. Is it shown that electrodes for lithium-ion batteries based on MoO(2) nanorods have a long-term cycling life. The specific discharge capacity even after 200 cycles at a discharge rate of 1 C is about 300 Ah kg(-1) .  相似文献

Butyl-levulinate has been identified as a promising fuel candidate with high oxygen content. Its combustion in diesel engines yields very low soot and NOx emissions. It can be produced by the esterification of butanol and levulinic acid, which themselves are platform chemicals in a biorenewables-based chemical supply chain. Since the equilibrium of esterification limits the conversion in a conventional reactor, reactive distillation can be applied to overcome this limitation. The presence of the high-boiling catalyst sulfuric acid requires a further separation step downstream of the reactive distillation column to recover the catalyst for recycle. Optimal design specifications and an optimal operating point are determined using rigorous flowsheet optimization. The challenging optimization problem is solved by a favorable initialization strategy and continuous reformulation. The design identified has the potential to produce a renewable transportation fuel at reasonable cost.  相似文献

The investigation of the distribution of the fusion-barrier height by heavy-ion collisions requires thin self-supporting targets. To increase the accuracy of the measurement the thickness and homogeneity has to be known as precisely as possible.We prepared the self-supporting nickel foils out of the isotopes 58Ni, 60Ni and 61Ni. The resulting targets were between 75 and 105 μg/cm² thick. The foils were produced on copper backing by electron-beam gun evaporation and by extracted ion-beam sputtering, both in high vacuum. To obtain self-supporting nickel foils the copper was removed by etching. We will discuss and compare both methods.  相似文献

Zinc oxide nanostructures are known to exist in a great variety of morphologies. However, the underlying mechanisms leading to these architectures are far from being fully understood. Here, we present a time dependent study of the generation of zinc oxide nanorods, which arrange into bundles with a fan- or bouquet-like structure, using the benzyl alcohol route. The structural evolution of the nanoparticles was monitored by electron microscopy techniques, whereas the progress of the chemical reaction was followed by quantification of the organic by-products using gas chromatography. With this study we give a detailed insight into the formation of the zinc oxide structures, which involves a complex pathway based on many in parallel occurring processes such as crystallization of primary particles, their oriented attachment and surface reconstruction inside the nanoparticulate agglomerates. However, in spite of such an intricate growth behavior, the ZnO nanostructures are surprisingly uniform in size and shape.  相似文献

Endothelial cells cover the inner surface of blood vessels and form the interface between the blood and the tissues. Endothelial cells are involved in regulating barrier function, which is maintained by the interendothelial cell contacts. These interendothelial cell contacts are established by the interaction of different molecules. The maintenance of the barrier requires an appropriate signalling between these molecules. Thus, a number of different signalling pathways are integrated within interendothelial contacts. Since endothelial cells are important in tissue-implant interactions (especially for stent materials) this study examines the expression pattern of different interendothelial contact molecules to determine the usefulness in the analysis of biocompatibility in vitro. The effects of different pro-inflammatory and toxic stimuli and contact of human microvascular endothelial cells to metallic surfaces were examined for their impact on the pattern of interendothelial contact molecules. Striking modifications in the arrangement of these molecules were induced and the mode of modification was dependent on the tested compound. Thus, examining the pattern of expression of specific interendothelial contact molecules in vitro may be useful for testing the endothelial cell compatibility of biomaterials and their corrosion products.  相似文献

Superoxide radical (O2-) has been proposed to be an important participant in oxidation-reduction reactions of metal ions in natural waters. Here, we studied the reaction of nanomolar Mn(II) with O2- in seawater and simulated freshwater, using chemiluminescence detection of O2- to quantify the effect of Mn(II) on the decay kinetics of O2-. With 3-24 nM added [Mn(II)] and <0.7 nM [O2-], we observed effective second-order rate constants for the reaction of Mn(II) with O2- of 6×10(6) to 1×10(7) M(-1)·s(-1) in various seawater samples. In simulated freshwater (pH 8.6), the effective rate constant of Mn(II) reaction with O2- was somewhat lower, 1.6×10(6) M(-1)·s(-1). With higher initial [O2-], in excess of added [Mn(II)], catalytic decay of O2- by Mn was observed, implying that a Mn(II/III) redox cycle occurred. Our results show that reactions with nanomolar Mn(II) could be an important sink of O2- in natural waters. In addition, reaction of Mn(II) with superoxide could maintain a significant fraction of dissolved Mn in the +III oxidation state.  相似文献

Objective

Evaluation of the quantitative accuracy of MR-based attenuation correction (MRAC) in the Philips Ingenuity TF whole-body PET/MR.

Materials and methods

In 13 patients, PET emission data from the PET/MR were reconstructed using two different methods for attenuation correction. In the first reconstruction, the vendor-provided standard MRAC was used. In the second reconstruction, a coregistered transmission-based attenuation map from a second immediately preceding investigation with a stand-alone Siemens ECAT EXACT HR+ PET scanner was used (TRAC). The two attenuation maps were compared regarding occurrence of segmentation artifacts in the MRAC procedure. Standard uptake values (SUVs) of multiple VOIs (liver, cerebellum, hot focal structures at various locations in the trunk) were compared between both reconstructed data sets. Furthermore, a voxel-wise intensity correlation analysis of both data sets in the lung and trunk was performed.

Results

VOI averaged SUV differences between MRAC and TRAC were as follows (relative differences, mean ± standard deviation): (+12 ± 6) % cerebellum, (?4 ± 9) % liver, (?2 ± 11) % hot focal structures. The fitted slopes of the voxel-wise correlations in the lung and trunk were 0.87 ± 0.17 and 0.95 ± 0.10 with averaged adjusted R 2 values of 0.96 and 0.98, respectively. These figures include two instances with partially erroneous lung segmentation due to artifacts in the underlying MR images.

Conclusion

The MR-based attenuation correction implemented on the Philips Ingenuity PET/MR provides reasonable quantitative accuracy. On average, deviations from TRAC-based results are small (on the order of 10 %  or below) across the trunk, but due to interindividual variability of the segmentation quality, deviations of more than 20 %  can occur. Future improvement of the segmentation quality would help to increase the quantitation accuracy further and to reduce the inter-subject variability.  相似文献

In addition to static and structural requirements, modern floor systems must meet a variety of other design issues, in order to survive on the market. After an introduction, various commercially available floor systems are described.
