The continuous demand for higher productivity and product quality asks for better optimizing of the machining process. In this case, numerical controlled (NC) milling is a processing technology massively applied in the metal manufacturing industry; it has received very important interest in this century because it has a very high productivity and high work piece surface quality. The main objective of this work is to evaluate the machining time of different cycles, in 2.5?D NC milling. The prediction of the optimal values of cutting speed was analyzed to minimize both time and cost of die production. Optimum and economical values of cutting speed give, respectively, minimum production time and minimum production cost. An experimental study is carried out to validate machining time calculation models developed in this work. The cutting parameters analyzed in this study are cutting speed, feed per tooth, and the radial cutting depth.  相似文献

In the framework of context awareness within the home, our team is currently assessing the unobtrusive detection of inhabitants' activity through the monitoring of their use and consumption of electricity. The objective is to develop a system for the remote monitoring of large populations of elderly people living independently at home. To be readily deployable on the field, such a system must be minimally intrusive both for the home environment and for the field professionals (paramedics and social workers) visiting the patients at home. We carried out two successive field experiments to evaluate and to improve our system designed to deliver a single index of daily activity. The first experiment involved 13 elderly persons over a nine-month period (84,240 h data recorded) and the second one 12 elderly over six months (51,840 h). We evaluated both the relevance of the index and the acceptability of the system as a whole. We discovered that electrical activity is a kind of unique "signature" of each person's activity. Moreover, this profile provides unexpected information on the health status of the subject. We confirmed that the system was unobtrusive and well accepted both by the subjects and by the professionals involved. Our unique index of activity, and its trend over time, can provide timely information to the professionals on the patient.  相似文献

Increased osteoclast activity is responsible for the enhanced bone destruction in postmenopausal osteoporosis, Paget's disease, bone metastasis, and hypercalcemia of malignancy. However, the number of known inhibitory factors that block osteoclast formation and bone resorption are limited. Therefore, we used an expression-cloning approach to identify novel factors produced by osteoclasts that inhibit osteoclast activity. A candidate clone was identified and isolated from a human osteoclast-like multinucleated cell (MNC) cDNA library, named osteoclast inhibitory peptide-1 (OIP-1), and the cDNA sequence was determined. This sequence matched that of the recently identified human stem cell antigen, was structurally similar to the mouse Ly-6 gene family, and the sequence predicted it was a glycosyl phosphatidyl inositol (GPI)-anchored protein that had a cleavable COOH-terminal peptide. Western blot analysis of conditioned media from 293 cells transfected with the OIP-1 cDNA clone confirmed that OIP-1 was released into the media as a membrane-bound GPI-linked protein. Interestingly, both recombinant OIP-1 expressed in Escherichia coli (which does not have GPI linker) and OIP-1 expressed by mammalian cells significantly reduced osteoclast-like MNC formation induced by 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 or PTH-related protein in mouse and human bone marrow cultures, and inhibited 45Ca release from prelabeled bone in fetal rat organ cultures. In contrast, recombinant OIP-1 did not inhibit the growth of a variety of other cell types. These data indicate that OIP-1 is a novel, specific inhibitor of osteoclast formation and bone resorption.  相似文献

In this work the wear behavior of cerium oxide abrasive grains during the glass polishing was studied. Polishing tests have been done by different types of cerium oxide abrasive grains. The grains have been recovered and examined during the operation. Speech coders operating at low bit rates necessitate efficient encoding of the linear predictive coding (Lpc) coefficients. Line spectral Frequencies (Lsf) parameters are currently one of the most efficient choices of transmission parameters for theLpc coefficients. In this paper, an optimized trellis coded vector quantization (Tcvq) scheme for encoding theLsf parameters is presented. When the selection of a proper distortion measure is the most important issue in the design and operation of the encoder, an appropriate weighted distance measure has been used during theTcvq construction process. We further applied the optimizedTcvq system for encoding theLsf parameters of the us Federal Standard (Fs1016) 4.8 kbps speech coder. At lower bit rates, objective and subjective evaluation results show that the incorporatedLsf tcvq encoder performs better than the 34 bits/frameLsf scalar quantizer used originally in the fs1016 coder. The subjective tests reveal also that the 27 bit/frame scheme produces equivalent perceptual quality to that when theLsf parameters are unquantized.  相似文献

The synergistic effect of bark resin of Schinus molle (BRSM) and iodide ions in 0.5 M sulfuric acid has been studied for the first time by potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy measurements; also, the surface morphology has been analyzed by scanning electron microscopy–energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopic analysis in the present work. The results show that the BRSM and iodide ions have an evident synergistic inhibition effect in a 0.5-M sulfuric acid solution. The adsorption of the BRSM/iodide ion system follows the Langmuir adsorption isotherm and acts as a mixed-type inhibitor in sulfuric acid. The BRSM/iodide ion system is an effective inhibitor for API5L X70 pipeline steel in the 0.5-M sulfuric acid solution. The maximum percentage inhibition efficiency is equal to 99% at 1 g/L BRSM + 2 mM KI.  相似文献

In a vehicular ad‐hoc network (VANET), vehicles can play an essential role in monitoring areas of a smart city by transmitting data or multimedia content of environmental circumstances like disasters or road conditions. Multimedia content communication with quality of experience (QoE) guarantees is a challenging undertaking in an environment such as that of a VANET. Indeed, a VANET is characterized by numerous varying conditions, significantly impacting its topology, quality of communication channels, and paths with respect to bandwidth, loss, and delay. This paper introduces a link efficiency and quality of experience aware routing protocol (LEQRV) to improve video streaming provisioning in urban vehicular ad‐hoc networks. LEQRV uses an enhanced greedy forwarding‐based approach to create and maintain stable high quality routes for video streaming delivery. It improves the performance of the quality of experience by increasing the achieved QoE scores and reducing the forwarding end‐to‐end delay and frame loss.  相似文献

In this paper, we present an optimized trellis coded vector quantization (tcvq) coding system designed for the effective and robust coding of lsf spectral parameters at low bit rate. The aim of this system, called at the beginning « lsf-otcvq Encoder », is to achieve a low bit rate transparent quantization of lsf parameters of the us Federal Standard (fs1016) speech coder. Once the effectiveness of our lsf-otcvq encoders (with weighted distance) was proven in the case of ideal transmissions over noiseless channel, we were interested after in the improvement of their robustnesses for real transmissions over noisy channel. To implicitly protect the transmission indices of our lsf-otcvq coders incorporated in the Fsl016, we used a joint source-channel coding carried out by the channel optimized vector quantization (covq) method. In the case of transmissions over noisy channel, we will show that our new encoding system, called “covq-lsf-otcvq Encoder”, would be able to contribute significantly in the improvement of the fs1016 performances by ensuring a good coding robustness of its lsf spectral parameters.  相似文献

In this paper, the friction coefficient was measured using a computer-controlled electrical system. The obtained results of the friction behavior during the polishing process indicate that the friction coefficient increases in the first minutes of polishing and then tends to be stable. The effect of some polishing parameters such as velocity and polishing pad nature was studied. It was found that these parameters have an important influence on the friction behavior. Indeed, it was found that the increase of the velocity reduces the friction coefficient. However, the nature of the polishing pads produces enormous variation of the friction coefficient.  相似文献

In this paper, we formulated, applied, and tested the FTn Finite Volume Method (FTn FVM) for transient radiative transfer in three-dimensional absorbing, emitting, and anisotropically scattering medium. Both the STEP and the Curved-Line Advection Method (CLAM) are introduced for spatial discretization of the transient radiative transfer equation. The results show that FTn FVM reduces largely the ray effects and it is more accurate than the standard FVM. Also, using both STEP and CLAM schemes, FTn FVM has smaller convergence time than the standard FVM for all cases. On the contrary, the STEP scheme is faster than the CLAM scheme but it has less accuracy. Then, the effects of optical thickness, scattering albedo, and anisotropy factor on incident radiation and radiative flux are presented and discussed.  相似文献
