The mapping near Kras2 of pulmonary adenoma susceptibility 1 (Pas1), a major locus affecting inherited predisposition to lung cancer in mice prompted us to test the homologous human region (12p12) for association with lung adenocarcinoma, by a population-based study. We genotyped 213 lung adenocarcinoma patients and 219 healthy blood donor subjects for five polymorphic markers mapping in the putative region of interest. Three marker polymorphisms, located in a region spanning approximately 700 kb, were significantly associated with lung adenocarcinoma risk. Furthermore, polymorphisms in KRAS2 and PTHLH loci were also associated with tumor prognosis. These results suggest the existence of a human Pas1 homologous locus on chromosome 12p12. 相似文献

Multiwalled carbon nanotubes of 0.2% weight fraction are used as a sensory network for detecting and characterizing the damage of particulate epoxy composites under shear loading conditions. Three different weight fractions of carboxyl‐terminated butadiene acrylonitrile copolymer rubber [10 parts per hundred of epoxy resin (phr), 20 phr, and 30 phr] are used for toughening a thermoset epoxy composite. The electrical response of the specimens is measured, nearest the central shearing plane, using a four‐circumferential ring probe technique in conjunction with a high‐resolution data acquisition system. A collection of the electromechanical response results are reported with respect to the shear strain. The resistance changes observed under shear loading are related to nonlinear deformation mechanisms, void initiation, and growth around rubber particulate. With increasing rubber content, the strength of the material decreases and a greater drop in resistance is recorded as a result of decreased distance between neighboring carbon nanotubes (CNTs) due to declustering and straightening of molecular chains of host matrix. In the end, a comparison for 30 phr composites under shear loading with that of tensile and compression loading conditions is presented. For initial deformation, there is no change in resistance under shear loading condition; however, the significant resistance change can be noticed under both tension and compression. The specimen under shear loading conditions experiences smaller decrease in resistance when compared with both tension and compression. Abstract—In this article, a method based on the application of the discrete wavelet transform to the instantaneous reactive power signal, for diagnosing the occurrence of broken rotor bars in induction motors operating under time-varying load conditions, is presented. This method is based on the decomposition of the instantaneous reactive power signal, from which wavelet approximation and detail coefficients are extracted. The energy evaluation of known bandwidths permits to de?ne a fault severity factor. This method has been tested through the simulation of an induction motor using a mathematical model based on the winding-function approach. These simulation results are complemented by experimental tests conducted on an induction motor with several faulty rotors that can be interchanged and both simulation and experimental results have shown the effectiveness of the proposed method for broken rotor bars diagnosis in induction motors even under time-varying load conditions. 相似文献

A molecular absorption method is proposed for the determination of phosphorus in biodiesel. The samples are mineralized using an ashing procedure at 550 °C followed by dissolution of the residue. The analytical procedure is based on the formation of a blue molybdenum complex. 1-amino-2-naphthol-4-sulfonic acid is used as reducing agent. The method was applied to biodiesel samples prepared from soy, canola and sunflower oils and from bovine fat. The limit of detection is 0.57 mg P kg−1 and the limit of quantification is 1.7 mg P kg−1. The observed mean relative standard deviation is about 5%. The simplicity of the procedure added to its precision, accuracy and low cost suggest that it is an excellent option for the determination of phosphorus in biodiesel. 相似文献

The heart of palm is a food extracted from several species of palm trees. Only 10–20% of the raw material is transformed into canned hearts of palm, therefore this agro‐industry generates a large quantity of solid residue. The aim of this work was to extract and characterise a juice produced from this solid residue. This extract is compared with the traditional fruit juices (orange and pineapple juices), obtaining higher contents of minerals, such as magnesium (22.80 mg/100 g) and potassium (276.90 mg/100 g), phenolic compounds (gallic, 3,4‐dihydroxybenzoic, chlorogenic, syringic and caffeic acids) and high free radical scavenging capacity (expressed as 2,2‐diphenyl‐1‐picrylhydrazyl), which suggest high antioxidant activity. Additionally, a new soft drink was formulated using this king palm juice as its main ingredient. The soft drink samples formulated with this juice had high sensory acceptability and high intention of consumption, which suggests an important and low‐cost application for this industrial residue. 相似文献

A new concept was applied to fish products. Chemical reagents targeting specific chemical bonds were incorporated in to gel products for assessing the importance of non-covalent (sodium dodecylsulphate, 1.0%, w/w), disulphide (dithiothreitol, 0.2%, w/w) or transglutaminase-catalyzed (N-ethylmaleimide, 0.2%, w/w) bonding. These reagents acting as chemical probes were applied to the study of sea bass and hake protein gels and the effect of MTGase (0.5%, w/w).These reagents were valuable for reaching conclusions. The action of an endogenous cysteine TGase in hake products was detected. It was found that frozen storage and protein denaturation are fundamental not only for explaining differences between raw materials, but also seem to favour a different action mode of MTGase in each raw material. Moreover, this study may help to improve processed products, for instance, the positive interaction between MTGase and the disruption of disulphide bonds in hake gels may find a useful application through incorporation of cysteine + MTGase. 相似文献
